I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Wilson Senior Care Group. From the beginning, communication was inconsistent and often unclear. It frequently felt like concerns were brushed aside rather than addressed with care and professionalism. The level of attentiveness did not meet my expectations. There were multiple instances where follow-ups were delayed, and it seemed difficult to get straightforward answers to simple questions. For a service that works with seniors--where compassion, patience, and reliability are essential--this was especially frustrating. I also found the overall organization to be lacking. Scheduling felt disorganized at times, and coordination did not appear as smooth as one would hope in a care setting. This created unnecessary stress for both clients and family members. read more

When I hear Wilson Care my blood boils. For months they completely neglected a patient of mine leaving him living in feces and maggots and still collecting the pay from family that lives outer island. That's just one of the many examples of neglect I experienced with them. Do not entrust them with your loved one. read more

Staffing recruiters are nice and so are the wages for aides but the business structure needs some work. Pretty inconsistent and theres a high turnover. Client needs all over the island but not enough people to cover shifts. read more

This place seems to hire just about anyone, Aide arrived at my father apartment completely clueless on even the most basic medical terms such as blood pressure machine and fever thermometer. Most aides are sneaky, by doing the bare minimum and spending the rest of the time on their phones or watching TV instead of engaging with patient. The only good aide I had, even told me she knows plenty of Wilson caregiver that have been caught stealing. My father went thru at least 4 aides in a month. Not recommended read more

The Wilson care group puts up a pristine front when trying to get you to sign up with them. The first and maybe even the second visit they send one of the great Aides with years of experience and knowledge. Once you reeled in, you get send lazy incompetent people without basic understanding and knowledge. Some look homeless with poor comprehension of hygiene. Arriving with bags of dirty laundry that appeared they wash once I leave my parent unattended. Had to get cameras inside just to see where all the supplies and food went. Cancelled and went with a private hire ironically a CNA that used to work for Wilson but was not paid her worth. Safe yourself the headache. read more

Worst caregiving experience. Week one we had caregivers arriving late, leaving early, and poor caregiving (left on soiled clothing and sheets rather than changing). Week two, one caregiver never showed up for shift. Called office and they told us they couldn't get in touch with her and she would be fired. We were left without a caregiver for the entire 8pm-8am shift. If we hadn't monitored the situation, my bedridden father would have been alone for entire night. They do not live up to any of the hype they give you at initial consultation. Since then I have received many negative comments about Wilson from other caregivers and we terminated their services. read more

Updating to 1 star because I won't ever recommend Wilson to anyone I even remotely care about. Enough time has passed where I feel comfortable sharing and elaborating on a few of my experiences with Wilson and their unprofessional care. 1) Caretaker wore my family members clothing around the house without consent. I have proof of photos/videos posted online clearly wearing my family members clothing in our home while "on the job". Related, they came to WORK (yes, this is a work setting given the expectations of care) wearing the same clothes 3 days in a row. It was quite pungent and behavior that would not fly in any other professional setting had Wilson had any enforceable standards. 2) Came home early one day to find caretaker carrying their laundry in and out of the place because they were using our machines and supplies. The act itself is not absurd but the deception and sneaking around had I not come home early is appalling. 3) Multiple inappropriate comments and advances towards me and my other family members. Talk about feeling unsafe in your own home? Obviously YMMV based on caretaker so do your research and be wary of Wilson. Any response to this that attempts to invalidate me as a client or my experience just shows you how unprofessional they really are. read more

My mother was a resident at Wilson Care Home for the first four and a half months of this year 2020. She loved it there and made friends with two of the ladies in residence. Her health declined in early May and she chose Hospice and we brought her home to be with us. We contacted Wilson Home Care and they immediately set us up with care givers. All were gracious ladies, willing and able to help to give our family a chance to rest. They offered to clean the house while they were there and often sat with my mom while she slept. When she passed they sent their condolences. We realize that their job is not an easy one and even more difficult during the COVID crisis. We are grateful to everyone at the Wilson Care Home and Group for their thoughtful, professional help. Mahalo and Aloha! read more

Wilson Care does not take care of the clients like they say. They neglect the needs of the patients. They also do not have good communication when it comes to the staff. It's sad that the patients don't come forward and tell there loved ones how they are really being treated. And it's sad that the staff all cover up for the neglect that goes on. I would never recommend my love to this company. There are better companies and places on the island. read more

I love working for Wilson Care Group! Best job I've had in a very long time! Feels like family!

Wilson home care was hired for 24 service to take care of an aging auntie of mine, from the get go it seemed they were just hiring anybody off the street and they had a hard time keeping their employees. They're freshly hired employees, most of them are not licensed CNA's, seem to have no supervision or training, I would often come to the house to find them either sleeping, watching TV, and one time they were not even there! Was able to contact the owner, Shelly Wilson and she said because I was not a direct family member, she could not talk to me about the situation, and there's a hard time proving that nobody was there! Even though I was standing in the house and the caregiver to take in the clients card to go get McDonald's. One of the caregiver seem to be homeless and will show up for the night shift with her suitcase and pajamas, she was using the house for showering and cooking her meals, in the two years she was there not once did it Wilson manager/supervisor ever come to inspect. in some instances, especially on holidays. No one will show up at all!, When I would question the employee why they didn't show up, they told me that they had told the scheduling and everyone knew they had the day off except the scheduler, I would often hear the scheduling person yelling at the employees over the phone, this company is very unprofessional and I would not trust my love one with them. read more

This place is awful. They came twice with two different people. I have a broken leg so I only need help to the restroom and shower. The nurse dropped me on the bathroom floor. The nurse aide was sent to my home at the wrong time and was too exhausted to lift me(even though I'm little) or do anything so we sent her home. read more

BEWARE! Had phone consult with Miriam Zakimi on Dec 16, 2019 to discuss in-home consult. We confirmed an appointment date. I flew to Hawaii to meet with the nurse/nurse-aide and our person was a no-show. After speaking with Miriam, she told me there was a mix up and our nurse/nurse aide had an emergency come up. I understand things come up, but it's up to Wilson to communicate this to their clients/potential clients. Very bad first impression and we will NOT be using their services. After reading the reviews on their Yelp page, this was probably a blessing in disguise. read more

Started out well with Wilson, but over time had nothing but problems with their staffing, lack of communication, and general non-professional treatment. They don't seem to care about meeting the needs of their clients as much as their own scheduling needs. Some of their caregivers are very good, but I'm not sure it's worth the hassle to deal with their personnel. read more

We've have been with Wilson for about a year. We have the aide come by only once a week to visit my mom - so we are at the minimum level of care visits. Because of this we had a lot of different aides rotate in and out in the beginning. However, recently we got one that has been steady for awhile and seems to be working out very well. As with any people contact business, you really have to find the right 'fit' of personalities. In our case it's going well so far (of course until we get some one else). Overall the service has been good - and no big issues - just a few tweaks here and there concerning what the aide is to do or not do. We went with Wilson because they have been around for a long time - and as an organization, they monitor their aides regularly, are very prompt in replying or contacting us for any reason. Not a big fan of this company. Most of the caregivers that came to the house don't even seem like they've ever taken care of a person. I have a camera set up, so a couple of times I've seen a caregiver eating my grandma's snacks, just sitting watching TV, on their phone talking, and even caught one walking into my room to grab a phone charger which she happen to leave out in the living room for me to find when I got home. I would say I've had more unprofessional lazy caregivers than ones that were hardworking and obviously knew what they were doing. Not to mention, they have a nurse who's incredibly rude. I think her name is Christine, not sure, but every time I spoke with her she has always been so rude. She would always cut me off when I was talking and would try to rush off the phone. She even had to the nerve to hang up on me once, so not the greatest customer service. Overall, I think I've had only 3 very good caregivers throughout the 4 years we've been with Wilson. Unfortunately it's not my call to continue with Wilson or not, but if it was I would have stopped service long time ago. I talked to one of the caregivers and she said they don't even train their employees, so after hearing that it's not surprising most of them don't know what they're doing or that they're not even a certified CNA at least. read more

My mother has been living in the Kailua Wilson Senior Living residence since October of 2014. Mom is mobile, but suffers from dementia. There are other residents who are not mobile, but their minds are working properly. It is amazing to watch the way they interact with her. They are so understanding of her shortcomings and she provides them with fun and a loving touch. She is finally living her life to the fullest. The home has two wonderful chefs who prepare meals that mom enjoys. When she was living in her own home, she refused to eat so many things and now she is eating a well balanced and interesting meals. In addition to providing meals for the residents, the chefs are so loving that they provide that extra touch throughout the day. The caregivers are so loving and they give her constant attention and love. There is an activity director who plans things to stimulate the residents and the housekeeper is so talented that she fills in the gaps with wonderful craft projects. I can't believe the unique projects she comes up with. I have not seen one person who works there that doesn't show love and concern for each one of the residents. They have visits from therapy dogs and inspirational speakers come to visit. Once a month there is a woman who comes to teach them hula and sings Hawaiian songs with the residents. They have karaoke two or three times a weak, and bingo a couple of times a week. They do yoga and tai chi. The house is beautiful and feels like a real home and that is the way the owner and staff want each client to feel. I sleep well at night knowing that my mom is being so well taken care of. read more

First and foremost I would like to thank Wilson Homecare and their wonderful team for all they had done for my grandma. We hired Wilson on a temporary basis because grandma needed some extra assistance around the house. She lived alone and she was in her 90's. Grandma was very independent and was not open to the idea of having someone come in to help her with some of her every day needs; she was stubborn. Wilson was able to find a caregiver who met and exceeded all of our family's needs and wants. They were also able to offer us some possible caregivers that were bilingual; grandma spoke Chinese. Once she got used to the idea of having someone around the house helping her, she opened up to the regular caregiver. This was a great opportunity for our family to put aside some of the worries we had. The caregiver would take grandma out for daily walks to Chinatown so she could get her roast pork and shoyu chicken. The caregiver would sit there and listen to all my grandma's stories about being a young Chinese girl and all the things she had done throughout her 90 something years. The caregiver even told my aunty how cute she thought grandma was. I know towards the end, grandma truly appreciated having someone there for her to help with things and just to listen. It was not easy for us to let her live on her own. With all of the adults working and all her grandkids growing up, we really wanted to enjoy our time with her as family members rather than care takers. Sadly to say, grandma passed a couple of weeks ago. She was 95 and still kicking until the day she died. Wilson had been such a great help and still continues to be a great support system. The reason why I dropped everything to post this review was because our family just received a card from Wilson Homecare expressing their sympathy for our loss and their continued assistance, if needed. I thought that was the most touching thing, to take the time to hand write a card and express their positive feelings towards our family and grandmother. No amount of words can express how grateful our entire family has been and will continue to be. All I can say is THANK YOU WILSON HOMECARE!!! read more

My experience with receiving care from Wilson Homecare for my father was excellent. I retained Wilson Homecare to help my father after he was recovering from open heart surgery. Unfortunately there were complications from his surgery that required 24 hour care since he lives alone. The caregivers were professional, patient and encouraging him even when he refused help. He's not an easy person to care for;as was evident in the hospital. A nurse walked me and my father through the process and we started services with very little notice. I received a lot of communication from various Wilson staff to keep me posted on his status and scheduling needs. I would definitely recommend this company. I don't know what I would have done without them. read more

Our family experience with Wilson Homecare was fabulous. Services provided were great. Our family retained Wilson Homecare to care for our grandma. The caregivers consistently provided loving, courteous and considerate care. They were especially patient with our grandma in her advanced stages of Alzheimer's. I remember watching one of the caregivers sitting with grandma. She was holding grandma's hand and listening to a story that grandma had told her at least 10 times earlier in the day. She laughed at grandma's story like she heard it for the first time and her reaction made my grandma smile from ear to ear. With Wilson Homecare's assistance, my aunties and mom were able to just be "daughters" again to my grandmother and not the primary caregivers. During the time Wilson Homecare provided services for our family my aunties and mom laughed more with one another and were able to just sit around the dinner table and enjoy grandma and one another. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend their services to everyone read more

While using Wilson Homecare (WH) over a period of almost 2 years for my elderly mother who has senile dementia, there were several occasions where the caregivers did not show up for their scheduled shift, or were just not qualified to provide the level of care that was needed. There were a few caregivers who came that connected with Mom and were attentive and capable, but WH was rarely able to be consistent with the scheduling, even after several requests through the scheduling office. There seems to be a lot of employee turnover due to dissatisfaction with WH, most likely because of poor communication between the office and the caregivers employed by WH. read more

We have been using this company for my father for the past year or so. If it were up to me I would have stopped using them long ago! Many times we have encountered staff that is completely unprofessional and/or lazy. On more than 2 occasions, home health aides have shown up MORE THAN an hour and a half late. Whenever we call to report them, they just defend the staff and take no responsibility. They also impose upon us a schedule that works for THEM. We need someone to come in the mornings, but if they can't find anybody available, force upon my father someone to come in the afternoon from 12-6, which is totally unacceptable! We don't need anybody during that time frame! We have told them this multiple times but it always goes in one ear and out the other. They only converse with my dad (who is confused most of the time and will accept anything) when they should be arranging WITH THE PRIMARY CAREGIVER, THE PERSON WHO NEEDS THE HELP! This home has been an amazing place for my grandmother who has been living there for quite some time. She enjoys the many daily activities that are offered, as well as the staff and the other residents. The staff has always been 100% professional and caring and the other residents provide a pleasant social atmosphere. She couldn't be in better hands! This was a horrible experience. One caregiver slept on the job, another one bought friends over to shower , one care giver stole food, juice and snacks. She would bring a bag in the morning and when she left her bag was stuffed. Family members reported this because we would buy a case of juice for our grandparents and it would be gone in three days. No way they could drink all that that soon and never did before. Not to mention family members witnessed her leaving with an overstuffed bag when she. And with a practically empty one. One of the nurses was horrible. She would argue with family members and tried to make false allegations after arguing with family. Tried to get involved with family matters and tell us what we should be doing with grandparent's finances. The nerve!She was a horrid woman. Grandparent on hospic care and family has to put up with a monster of a nurse. The schedualiing office were so bad that sometimes we wouldn't have a nurse sent out then we would call and they would say the nurse called out. Later when we seen that nurse and asked her she told us no she didn't call out they sent her to another patient that needed coverage. Another caregiver was mean and ugly not taking cultural matters in mind. Had a chip on her shoulder and spoke roughly to grandparent. I told her to leave . She said my 90 something year old grandfather refers to her as the haole lady. I said yeah and what. She said that's racist. I said no it's not. It simply means someone from another land. This is a old Hawaiian man who did not mean it In A derogatory way. So from then on when ever she came she had a bad attitude and once I heard her talk rough to my grandfather I told her to leave. Wilson says they do an extensive back ground check but I question that with the charectors they send. The good care takers they do have are not treated well. read more

I just used Wilson Homecare for my 97 year old mother, who visited from the Midwest for 4 months. While I worked, I had their caregivers come in Monday through Friday, 7am to 7pm (if you live in Kailua, you know what the commute can be!). At first, I felt so guilty leaving my mom alone all day long. But after only a couple of days, she seemed to bond with the caregiver. And then when the second one came, she took to her instantly. I could never get my mom to go out and do things. She's always in a lot of pain with a horrible case of arthritis and fibromyalgia. We play Scrabble and watch tv together, mostly. But the Wilson caregivers were so kind and knowledgable -- they knew just what to do to ease her pain -- more than I could -- and seemed to inspire her to go out and see some of our beautiful island. When I'd come home at night, mom would be perky and excited, telling me all about her day with Lindsay or Irene. Her Scrabble really improved because she got to practice without me. The house was neat and clean, they made her meals, and actually got her to do her physical therapy DILIGENTLY. When she went home, her doctor told her she'd made huge strides, and even lowered her pain meds. I went from feeling guilty to grateful pretty quickly during this experience. And I'm SO PROUD Mom is improving. At 97! Well, she's coming back again next winter, and I will gladly call on Wilson again. I'm counting on them! read more
