Although we had many different venues to choose from, this venue was spectacular looking and several friends had said the food and service could not be outdone anywhere. Marty and Les did not disappoint us. From the planning, to the tasting, to the organizing and the big day, everything was taken care of. We had originally scheduled for Fall 2020 however the pandemic made that date not workable for our celebration. Marty was super-flexible and we were able to easily move the date. Questions were answered quickly. Their experience showed through - every contingency was planned for - and there is nothing that could arise that they could not handle - we all felt confident that we were in good hands. And no 'nickel and diming' either - everything was included - including the liquor. I was at the temple early on the big day to meet our florist. I mentioned to Marty that the lectern needed to be moved to allow for construction of the chupah. I came back to the chapel a few minutes later and it was already done! When a relative asked for a pot of hot water to warm a baby bottle, she did not have to ask twice - the request was handled immediately! Our guests raved about the hors d'oeuvres, the entree, and of course the service. The waitstaff answered questions such as 'what is that?', 'is it gluten free, dairy free?', 'is it spicy?' etc. At end of the day, my daughter was thrilled (and that's what really matters), her friends were thrilled, the groom and his family were thrilled. No mistakes, no mishaps, no issues - from the time we entered the chapel, until we drove away late that evening - the event was flawless. And my wife and truly enjoyed the event, not worrying about anything, because we knew Marty, Les and their staff had it all under control! Banquet Manager Kyp Andreou was a pleasure to deal with and was very responsive to returning phone calls and e-mails. He helped me go over some pricing options, and when I made a final decision on our format and menu he was very agreeable. We went with an Oktoberfest themed event and settled on the International and Domestic Cheese Display, Butler Style passed appetizers of Quilted Franks with Spicy Mustard, Beef Sliders with Cheese, Pickle and Tomato, and Potato Pancakes with Sour Cream and Chives, plus their German Station - Carving Board. The carving station was excellent!! It included Roasted Loin of Pork, Grilled Bratwurst, Grilled Knockwurst, sliced Marble Rye Bread, plus Red Cabbage, Sauerkraut, German Potato Salad, and some great Honey Mustard and Ketchup Curry Sauce. The champagne for the toast was flat and warm, the dinner service was late and the meal ice cold as the staff looked lost. My table saw 8 people receive their meal while the remaining four waited 15 minutes for their meal to arrive. There was absolutely nothing that the venue provided that was good. I would never book an event at the Knoll Country Club and frankly would not ever attend another event there.
