We were scheduled for a food tasting. We traveled some distance away to get there. We pulled up to the address listed. We received a time and date for the tasting. When we arrived we called and no one picked up the phone. We tried calling several times leading up to the tasting. All we got was an email. We heard how good the food taste but you can't get to taste the food with really bad customer service. I recommend you not fill out forms online for food tasting. She mentioned that she never even received our request. NOT GOOD. read more

I tried to hire Claudia's catering for a party of 50 based on reviews. I make 4 appointments using their online calendar and she never showed for 1! I then called and when she answered she was unapologetic and dismissive. She then emailed me her menu and when i sent a follow up question, it went unanswered. I typically don't write reviews but my boyfriend owns a business and this is a TERRIBLE customer experience. I went with Custodi caterers in Bellville and the experience was INCREDIBLE! i couldn't have asked for a better experience and the prices were much more reasonable with exceptional service! read more

Claudia catered our Christmas Eve's dinner this year and it was excellent! We order a variety of hors d'oeuvres and a maple teriyaki salmon as entree, accompanied by seasonal grilled vegetables and mashed potatoes! From the first phone call, she was responsive, professional and helpful - a total pleasure. We opted for an evening of heavy passed hors d'oeuvres, plus stationary platters and every single item was delicious - interesting flavors, lovely presentation, beautiful selection. Our guests raved! Claudia's food is amazing. We hired her for a holiday party and I have to say the food was delicious. We ordered a full dinner menu to be served buffet style which included: 1)Spinach, apple, caramelized almonds salad; 2) Green Beans with Pecan, lemon and parsley; 3) Salmon with black bean, avocado, mango salsa; 4) Chicken Francaise; and 4) Roasted Sliced Filet Mignon with caramelized Balsamic Onions in a Mushroom Wine Sauce. Everything was divine and our guests raved about the food. She arrived on time showed me how to put the meals together, how to heat up the food, when to mix the salad ingredients, etc. I know she provides these types of services for an extra cost but it was not difficult for me to follow the directions. The presentation was beautiful. She provided the salmon and beef on large oval platters and made it easy to pour the condiments/sauce on top. I wish I took pics. My only complaint is the scheduling function on the website does not work, and so direct emailing or calling is the best way to communicate. My wife serendipitously found Claudia's via a web search for a caterer for our Christmas dinner. I was a little skeptical but read the reviews and, since she made up her mind anyway, decided to just go with the flow. Wow!! Am I glad I did!! The food was unbelievably delicious and the portion size was huge!! My wife had lots of questions and Claudia patiently, professionally and honestly answered them all. Her staff delivering the food were equally patient, professional and personable. We were having a small get-together for 10 people and Claudia assured us we would have enough. That was an understatement!! The beef wellington that's supposed to serve 10 people was probably enough for twice as many!! Everyone enjoyed all the food, ate and ate and there was still enough for people to take food home. Kudos to my wife for talking me out of also ordering the rack of lamb. I'm sure it would also be delicious but there's such a thing as too much food! Sometimes luck smiles on you. The entire experience of working with Claudia and her team was seamless for our dinner party for 15. They are very organized, knowledgeable and efficient. Claudia or Andrea were always willing to make themselves available and gave good guidance, including when they thought we had enough food and variety. I hired Claudia for my wife's 50th birthday, and the party was a smashing success because of her and her team. Claudia was very helpful in selecting the menu items for the dinner, and everything that we had from appetizers through main courses were outstanding. Hard to pick a favorite, but the parmesan chicken is still being talked about in our house months after the celebration. Oh my goodness, Claudia is the sweetest, and best! I have used her in the past for a couple of private events which went so well. From beginning to end Claudia was there to guide us in making our events go seamlessly. She gave us tips and advice on how to successfully navigate our event that went above and beyond just ordering food from her, and no charge! Her staff is amazing, and takes full control with complete respect to our needs, as well as our guests. But I digress... I really want to talk about her weekly meals that are available for delivery since Covid reared its ugly head. We have ordered meals on a semi weekly basis, but you can just order for one day if you want. Everything has been delicious, not to mention huge portions. Claudia is outstanding! We have used her for years for our annual fundraising event for 150-300 guests. She helps us come up with a unique menu suited to our theme including many different passed hors d'oeuvres, a buffet dinner that includes 2 main dishes, fantastic sides, fresh salads and beautiful desserts. Claudia's food is so delicious and beautifully presented. We have done this for years and the menu ideas are always fresh and new. She handles absolutely everything! She sets up and decorates the bar, buffet and service trays. Claudia will take care of all our rental needs for each event, which can be many since we have a very small kitchen and many guests in attendance. I do not know how she manages to run a fantastic event with food for 300 out of out tiny ill-equipped kitchen, but she does it all with style and grace.The staff at Claudia's Creative Catering are wonderful. They are very professional and fun and easy to work with. She also must treat her staff well because many of the staff have been with her for years. In my capacity as a property manager in Montclair I have seen numerous organizations, as well as our non-profit use her services repeatedly here in Montclair. The staff is polite and very professional and Claudia herself is professional and a pleasure to deal with. I continue to recommend her service and her staff as well as her great food she prepares. In regard to JP, I think a 10 second conversation with the company is pretty harsh to brandish a 1-star for a company's reputation based on that experience. Professional staff and excellent food. I worked in catering in my 20's and now am in a position of hiring caterers for major events. Claudia's team arrived on time (in a major rainstorm), swiftly moved everything into the house, set up the tables, chairs, linens and bars. The bartenders on her staff are first-rate; and the servers and kitchen staff work tirelessly to make sure the food is beautifully presented, on-time and plentiful! I was especially impressed how they paid attention to the smallest of details - as the evening progressed, they turned plates on the buffet table, so that the best side always faced outward towards the guests. The food was seriously delicious. I would recommend the bacon-wrapped scallops and the bloody mary sirloin bites. They melt in your mouth!! This is a once-in-a-lifetime party and it had to be great. From the beginning Claudia's Creative Catering was perfect. When my wife called and spoke to Claudia she was polite, kind and beyond helpful! She helped guide our food choices and asked a lot of questions about the party, our family and the guests that were coming. She really wanted to understand what the party was all about and who would be attending. With this knowledge Claudia was able to help us select the types of food and the right amount. She did NOT try to sway us to more expensive items or push things we did not want. In fact, she worked hard to make sure we had exactly what we needed and was thoughtful about pricing too. Now, lets get to the good stuff....the food! Claudia suggested we mainly have "passed" appetizers and a "sliders bar" with 3 different flavors of sliders. The food was delicious and plentiful!! The food presentations were gorgeous and the variety of food she helped us choose was spot on! Everybody at our party kept raving about the food! The day before the party my wife was starting to freak out that there wouldn't be enough food, so she called Claudia. Claudia calmed her down, reassured her that there would be plenty of food (and there was!) and then she added a few extra things! Besides the food flavors and quantity the person serving the passed items was also amazing! Her name was Lisa. She was outstanding! She served graciously, anticipated what people needed and remembered what people liked. Lisa made sure all the ice buckets were filled, made coffee for everyone and served each tray with a genuine smile. She too was amazing, thank you Lisa! If you put it all together you have an amazing chef who creates spectacular dishes, presents them beautifully and has someone who serves her creative dishes so beautifully. At the end of the party both Claudia and Lisa stayed to clean the kitchen and made sure everything was back to normal despite having nearly 25 people trampsing through our home.
