They do have an option to go an hour before the show to have brunch from the buffet which isn't bad for a buffet brunch. Only slightly better than most hotel buffet breakfasts. But it is convenient to be seated where you will be for the show and have your brunch before the show starts The show is fun and you may be picked to interact with some performers (especially if you are me who always gets selected at any show like this). Your best option is to go along and have fun. This makes it a better experience for you, those with you and everyone attending ;) Fun dancing, music and shows and even though I'm not reviewing the food options I do have to mention that they bring you water as soon as you sit and that is always one of the first things I look for at restaurants.

I came in here and the place was not too busy, music at a nice level and was very clean. My server came over immediately and I gave him my drink and food order: Guinness and Corned Beef & Cabbage. It took about 15 minutes for me to get my Guinness and then about another 25 minutes to get my corn beef and cabbage. Yes, I was happy with the Guinness and have to do it now that's the corned beef and cabbage tasted excellent. My only complaint about the food is that I only got three strips of corned beef and was charged $24. WTF! Three strips! Yes, the flavor was good, but that portion was insulting. So like I said initially, it's what you're coming here for.

Boston.com dubbed it the "Love Pub" (the article is a hoot and, for once, not hidden behind a paywall). When we went in early February, the Burren was indeed decked out in its best Valentine's Day finery, with on-theme drink specials. The wooden benches were not super comfortable. The food is your standard bar/pub options with an Irish twist (beef Guinness stew, shepherd pie), and come in various shades of fried battered gold. We went with the basket of fries, which I loved - perfect wedge shape, nice crispiness - though the Brussel sprouts were so doused in sauce that I couldn't discern any other flavor. There's a front bar area and a back with live music. Overall, it's a dive bar fit for any number of occasions but, if you're coming by car on Fri-Sat, highly recommend coming early so you can find a spot in this neighborhood. There are some parking lots on Grove as well as metered options further down Elm.

The outside of the restaurant-turned-club does look like its dive bar predecessor, but the inside is dark, classy, and cozy - with a good dose of flashy lights and bling after dark. Since it was a special event as part of the "dbarLIVE" series, we had to make reservations a few weeks in advance on Open Table -- no cover or minimum for the reservation. We had a table of 6 that eventually crammed 8 together in a booth right next to the stage and bar areas. I worried we'd be blasted by the speakers and lights, but the acoustics were robust but well balanced. Our server was great and had good recommendations for drinks and food. Both menus have a ton of options without being too overwhelming. I was especially impressed by how the staff expertly wove in and out of the tables and remained attentive during the performances. I am a slow drinker so I just got The Saint, which I would definitely recommend even though I don't usually get whiskey-based cocktails. (The Tall Man, who does love whiskey, also enjoyed it.) I had already eaten dinner, so I shared the Vietnamese fries and tuna ceviche with a friend. The fries did not quite hit home for me. I enjoy all of those flavors individually, but it ended up being too heavy with the sauces, and the fries got soggy in a way that wasn't that pleasant. (I do like poutine, so go figure.) I really enjoyed the freshness, flavors, and texture combinations of the ceviche, though. The winner of the night was the lemon tart by far -- smoky torched gooey meringue on a perfectly tart lemon filling and biscuit base. Definitely full of gluten and dairy but very worth the indulgence! I'd love to come back for a regular dinner here and would definitely return for a special event too. Parking in the lot is limited, but there's a good amount of street parking.

The jazz was fantastic as was the meal and service. The house salad (sorry, no pic) was good for sharing and had fresh veggies (lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber) with blue cheese crumbles and tossed with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. We moved onto two entrees recommended by our server. The pork chop entree was accompanied by sweet potatoes and a light gravy and perfectly steamed, seasoned green beans. The pork chop was very lean and filling! The server specifically called out the chicken piccata as the most flavorful in the city. That's a tall order to fill in a city with the North End. The entree here is definitely in the top tier with strong flavors joining the chicken and linguine in a custom white wine butter sauce with diced tomatoes, capers, and lots of garlic. Yummmmmmmmm! We also got a glass of the sangria (it's summer), which was flavorful and served with a wedge of orange and a cherry. This is a good date night spot. Reservations recommended (available online). Be sure to select the Napoleon room if you are coming to enjoy the live music.

Their huge 275-seat event space was packed at tables for 4 to 8, for the two 1-hour sets of Live Dead & Brothers Band, an Allman Brothers - Grateful Dead group of legacy musicians from those bands and families!!! An authentic rockin' performance! They opened hot, with Feelin' Alright and Truckin', and ended hot with Midnight Rider, Ramblin' Man, and Jessica, with around 14 more between. The acoustics were excellent at our table, and we also took up our share of the crowded dance area :-) Their tour continues at least through Dec 2026. Our tickets were about $50 each. Service was fast and friendly, and they let us pull up one more chair for our group of nine. You can get crafted beers and cocktails. We settled in with ice cold regional beers, which honestly are just as distinctive as fancy craft beers. We got some food to share off their "concert menu", too. An entrée-size dish of rich creamy homemade Mac & Cheese, made with tasty aged Grafton Cheddar, soft slightly-al-dente curly Cavatappi pasta tubes, not-overcooked green beans, as i recall, crisply crusted with lightly-maple breadcrumbs. Very flavorful and satisfying. A sweet fresh bright Autumn Salad of greens, pecans, and bright beets, in tart vinaigrette. And juicy "Bull Run Classic" burgers with crisp lettuce, tasty firm tomato, mildly-sharp red onion, and, for one of them, an add-on of rich cheddar, all on a cloud-like brioche bun. They do ask for $20 per person food/beverage minimum for all shows, essentially an entree or a couple beverages each. That's about what we had planned to order anyway :-) This place knocked us out with their dedication to farm-to-table ingredients, sourced from more than 25 regional farms named on the dinner menu. We've never seem such an extensive list of the actual sources. Very cool! The Bull Run has been a tavern since 1741, named after the Battle of Bull Run in 1861, (or in another version, named for a brawl in the tavern at the same time :-), and has been run by the Guercios extended-family since 1946. It was a stop on the stagecoach route and a gathering place for the Revolutionary war. We loved the original wood, structure, and décor. The fireplaces were lovely. It's a huge venue. Bull Run has live music every week, and they're open Wed-Sun, but watch their schedule because dates vary, sometimes one day that week, sometimes all four! This show was in their 275-seat room. There's at least one larger room for around 400. Theres a little parking along Rt 2A, and much more out back across the covered bridge. Dont be put off by the rustic exterior. We loved this legendary performance at a legendary restaurant!
