We are new to the Fresno area & needed some items to decorate our yard. We visited Willow Gardens because they were located nearby. So glad we did because they were so helpful in providing options and suggestions to insure we ended up with the products that best met our needs. I made my second visit there this morning to get some soil for our front yard. They quickly supplied what I needed and they remain as my first choice for landscaping maintenance! Terrible customer service at the desk . I felt as I was putting out the woman by asking her a question . She then rolled her eyes before she walked away . Prices were higher and I could have gotten twice the plant at Lowe's without the terrible attitude . I try and shop small businesses when I can . Never again will I come here . read more

Great place very clean and the help we got was above and beyond. We came in on a Sunday bc they were basically the only ones open. I live across town so I had my fingers crossed they would help. I had two 5'x16' garden beds that needed to be filled. I never got the name of the lady who helped us but she went out of her way to help us decide on the kinds of plants to get and also gave us tips how to lay it out. We were newbies when comes to gardening so it was great to have her help and not treat us like idiots lol. Thanks again I will definitely be coming back even though it's out of the way. read more

Made my first purchase today at the nursery. I normally shop Belmont Nursery but they didn't have what I needed. So far the only thing I was concerned about was "no guarantee" I just spent $300 on two spiral boxwoods. They only guarantee if they plant for you at $80 a plant. Ugh, didn't want a forever guarantee but maybe 2-3 weeks. Hope I made the right decision time will tell. The boxwoods look healthy. Beautiful Nursery!!! Like the previous reviewer KAR mentioned, it is hard to find ANYONE who works there. You can wander endlessly and not run into a single soul which has its ups and downs ! On the first visit, we shot some hoops in their little basketball court and explored different parts of the nursery, ALL without a single verbal exchange to an employee. I was able to scope out the facility and get a feel for what I could buy there. On my second visit, I was set on buying some plants. I decided on Willow Gardens because it had all I needed in one place. The bougainvillae, bird of paradise and dwarf variety fruit trees I had been eyeing and researching were all in inventory. Suprisingly on this day a gentleman asked my bf and I if I needed help with anything. Rudy was the man's name and he was responsive to all my questions, everything from the smell of a flower to how to trim a tree. He walked with me to help pick out all the plants I wanted and gave me tips in caring for them. My bf said he even learned a few things from the time Rudy spent with us. I was really greatful that Rudy was attentive enough to ask such a simple question that day. He truly was being helpful that day and wasn't trying to sell me anything. He listened to my wants and needs and responded accordingly. I got a total of 4 trees, 2 plants, 2 vines and a bag of fertizer delivered to my home for a small fee. I had a pleasant visit that day. I am giving this place 4/5 stars because I felt they could have more employees to help those of us who are gardening challenged. In addition, some of their inventory didn't look so healthy but because they had a lot in stock, you had other options. I can't vouch for how their plants will turn out as it has only been a couple days since I planted but for now-they are looking healthy. read more

Sure I could go to Home Depot or Lowes or even Walmart at that and pick up some plants but there's no way you will get the same help and service and expertise as you can at Willow Gardens nursery! Josh helped me out and guided me in choosing the right plants for the area I wanted flowers in. He knows his stuff and freely shared his knowledge. Terrible experience. The woman behind the register was WEIRD! We walked up to the register and she was talking to another staff. She made us wait until she finished her innocuous conversation then walked up to the register without a greeting and we had to say hi first. Then my girlfriend told her she wanted a bonsai planter that was outside and paid for it, but when we went to pick it up, it was in bad condition, so I asked for our money back, but she REFUSED. First time coming here and it is beautiful!! The play area for the little ones was a hit for my 3 year old. Took some time getting some help but once I was helped the service was superb. They didn't have one of the plants I need and they offered to put me on the call list for it. They helped me load my two carts of plants into the vehicle. Great place! read more

Thought they knew what they were talking about at this nursery. The main lady has a sense of arrogance that would lend you to think that she is an expert. It's quite the contrary. Top of the line nursery with alot of variety and great customer service. I stopped by o a thursday to just view around. I am injured and on crouches and one of the very professional ladys that works there drove me around in the golf cart showing me all the trees i wantes to see. I didnt buy. I came back the next day to purchase and steve took the time to drive me around again and help me get the trees i chose. He is very knowledgable and helped me chose the best selection for both trees. Then him and Cesar helped me load it in my car with care and behaved like true proffesionals with me. Something that is rare to find now adays. Wish i could rate it higher read more

One of the delivery drivers was driving crazy and almost ran me off the road! I called to complain to the manger but he or she was busy and was going to call me right back! To Whom It May Concern: Very disappointed at Willow Gardens today, but I guess there is no one person to blame and I have to accept the facts. A purchase I made on sale of a concrete dog, weathered, but endearing to me, was sold to another customer! It likely was not placed in the holding area and the sold sign must have been missing. Nevertheless it was given away without question. No way to contact the purchaser in the event they would return it. I'm left holding my receipt hearing plenty of sorry but no resolution. It had been four days and evidently there is no way to call me or track purchases. I was delighted to let family know this dog was coming home once I figured out how to pick this heavy item up! Instead I'm given the disappointing news. I would think a highly regarded business, established for many years would not subject its customers to theses moments of failing to fulfill their end of the bargain. I hope this letter serves to prompt any correction that needs to be made to prevent such mishandling of purchases made at Willow Gardens in the future. The nursery grounds are beautiful, with a large inventory of plants and trees. However, their signage is TERRIBLE. I should say, what signage?! They have no signs to identify plants. I guess we're all supposed to be experts and know exactly what we're looking at and how to care for it? And if you need assistance -- well, you'd better bring a search warrant because you'll need it to find anyone. However...... just yesterday I went there and had one of the best experiences with advice and assistance I've ever had at a nursery. I am looking for a tree for a particular problem spot in my yard, and haven't had much luck at the two other nurseries I frequent. So I went to Willow Gardens. Amazingly, someone asked me if I needed assistance. When I told them what I was looking for they took me inside their office and connected me with Riannon. I gather she is a botany major at the local university, and her knowledge of plants and trees is extensive and expert. She spent probably 15 minutes with me, discussing various options and helped me decide on what I believe will be the perfect tree for my problem spot. Unfortunately, Willow Gardens does not carry this particular tree (which makes her advice even more valid in my opinion, since she was obviously not just trying to sell me one of the trees in their inventory), but I have found one online. Kudos to Riannon! If this were a typical experience at Willow Gardens then it would raise them to 4 stars (5 stars if they would put signs out). Unfortunately, this is the only time anyone has helped me in the 4 or 5 times I have been at this nursery, so they are still just 2 stars for me. read more

Beautiful and had an amazing variety but a lot of the succulents and hanging plants outdoors were drying. Usually plants at a nursery are thriving. I only have the skill level to keep one alive not save it, lol. Maybe it's just the heat. Friendly staff. read more

Willow is the best nursery I've been too..the owner Nick Is very knowledgeable always has great ideas for pots & landscaping. The quality and condition of the plants is amazing ! Moist soil & healthy greenery & blooms, ( unlike other nurseries where the plants are dry & root bound ) All of his staff are very helpful & nice. Jenni teaches Fairy garden workshops that are very fun and the have lots of plants & whimsical accessories to choose from. And they have just started selling organically grown vegetables ! My husband and I had been to Willow Gardens Nursery and had a very positive experience in purchasing a tree for our yard. We were re-landscaping our backyard and obtained a quote from Willow Gardens, which came to over $500. We decided to purchase the plants from them. 96 plants were delivered to our house. Within 24 hours, before they were planted, 7 of the plants looked really bad, almost dead. I contacted the nursery and was accused of not watering them adequately. She said to bring them in and she might be able to replace them for 1/2 price. I then called the owner, who accused me of inadequately watering the plants! If I brought them in, he agreed to replace them for free. After spending hundred of dollars, I expected better customer service. These people were very nice up until I had a problem. Then, they wanted to be sure that I knew that I was the problem, not them. I did not return the plants to them. I won't do business of any kind with them again. Business must be awfully good to treat a customer this way.. read more
