One of the staff cut the fabric for me, but then proceeded to dragg the fabric on the floor, and didn't listen to me when I told him not to do that. Really?! For such expensive fabric, you'd drag it along the floor?! What the heck! Thanks for dirtying up the beautiful fabric I agreed to buy from you! Right after leaving, when I explored another fabric store close by, I instantly felt buyer's regret because I saw a similar fabric, but prettier and more cost-efficient. But it is indeed a good place for linen. I finally sewed up the mid-weight indigo I got there, and I found it lovely to work with, and it doesn't fade or get fuzzy after washing, unlike the linen I've bought from the leading internet linen retailer in the US. So, props for quality. The fabrics are not overly expensive or overly cheap, but the lady did give me a harder time than I expected when I didn't want to just take a bolt end instead of a continuous cut.

I have been to many stores that look like this anywhere from New York to Paris. To others, who are used to to Big Box fabric shops such as Joann's Fabric, this place may seem chaotic. I was so blown away by their prices, that I filled a luggage with my purchases and paid the $30 bucks fee to bring it home to Florida and I still saved a ton. They have everything! No real order, or like we say in Spanish: No tiene pies, ni cabeza. But you can see a little where they tried to organize their chaos. The store is very small and they just have a lot. I also saw a basement where I could see home fabrics, didn't look into them. The sales associate who helped me was also super nice and friendly. I was already in the neighborhood sourcing bulk muslin at Zarin and they suggested that I try MG. Someone named Alice (the owner I think?) worked with me. She could have been more patient, but she really new her stuff and saved me a huge mistake in my yield calculations. If you have the time and the patience to shlep to the LES (the real LES), this little shop is worth the trip even if only for their experience and knowledge. You have to give them the same respect that you would a rep in the D&D building though, I saw a 'swap-meet-Louis' girl get fully pwned by Alice as I was leaving. She totally deserved it. Personally, I would have loved to see Alice get 'slappy' but alas, civility prevailed.
