Very good food again at Willimantic Brewing. This was our second time here and we will be back when we are in the area. We highly recommend this establishment if you are in the area!! read more

The building is neat, and old bank building. Their own beer is ok, but they have a good selection of other local brews. We had the dinner which was ok. I would go out of my way to go there, much better breweries and restaurants around. read more

Came here to celebrate my daughter's birthday- Gingersnap martini- delish- but really?? Add some garnish to dress it up? Crushed ginger snap rim? Something? The food was ok. Nothing to write home about- with the exception of my daughters "fake"chicken- she added to her kale salad. That was amazing. Slow night- service slower. I really really want to love this place but they keep falling short. read more

Love this place!! The jerk wings are amazing, we also love the nachos but it is an extra large portion ( regret getting because I eat too much) the flatbreads, salads , and sandwiches are also very good. Do not always love the Willy brews but the Glascier IPA was ok, but 2nd beer was a Victory No Brainer. read more

First time coming here. Food was good, the nachos were great. Friendly staff. If you have never been there you should definitely check it out the building. It's a old post office with great charm. Worth the trip. Also the brew their own beers on top of a full bar. read more

I'm starting to feel suspicious that people in Connecticut just don't know good food. I use Yelp religiously whenever looking for places to eat and generally it works out well. However, in CT, the reviews are completely unreliable and Willimantic Brewing Company is a perfect example. I can't help but wonder what sort of reference CT folks have that makes them believe that WBC deserves 5 stars. I had been looking forward to visiting WBC for quite a while, based on the reviews, but was quickly disappointed. The 3 stars here entirely due to the good service, good atmosphere, and good beer selection at WBC. The food itself is just... bad. Not worth a repeat visit, despite the beer selection. read more

Good food, great service, and ample parking at a great location. A little pricey. Very cool interior with dining areas in different rooms.

Came here with my fiance and my friend on a Friday night. We figured it would be busy since it was a Friday night and we were correct! We got there at 530, had a little trouble finding parking but it didn't take too long. My friend and I wandered around a bit and found the arcade games. When my fiance got there we weren't sure where to go or sit, and a very nice gentleman said we were free to sit at the free table in the bar area or wander over to the restaurant side. It was a bit noisy but we could still hear each other so we opted to sit at the bar. The waitress was very nice and accommodated all of our requests with no problems. She was a bit rushed but it was very busy so it was totally understandable. Food was good -the chicken in the quesadilla was amazing and not dry at all. Will definitely go back again and grab a beer and play some games. If you are looking for an intimate setting, probably not for you, but a good place to grab a good variety of brews and to hang. read more

I cannot get over the fact that if you order a burger here the lettuce, tomato, and raw onion doesn't come with it! I've never heard of such a thing anywhere in the world. $1 extra for lettuce and tomato and another $1 for raw onion. Not specialty toppings, I'm talking plain cheap vegetables. On a positive note, the pesto for the burger is very good and it's on the side so you can decide how much you want to put on... If you even want to order a burger after the absurdness of having to buy the plain vegetables that come with it everywhere else. The chicken pot pie is also not a "pot pie". It is soup with a piece of biscuit on top. read more

Had a get together...waited like 45 mins for a drink. I order a flight and ask...is it a flat rate? Ir are there extra charges per beer? Kid says it's more expensive for stronger beers I ask, which ones will I not be charged extra for? He shows me a few. I select them...I get a 13 dollar extra charge for the flight. The fuck? So you lie to your customers to get more money huh? Makes sense now adays. So yea I won't be coming back here. Shittt service, bait and switch drink prices fuck this place. Be honest with your customers don't lie to them read more

Great food , plentiful nachos & delicious . Waiter was helpful & attentive. I will be back when in the area

The beer was very good, however, the food was terrible. There was four of us in three other four dishes were almost inedible. Response to manger: Try sampling the snchitzel and you will see how poor or the beef skewers over pasta where the pasta was completely dried out from sitting before being brought out. read more

8. "Expectation is the root of all heartache." - William Shakespeare This is obviously a place that people love based on the crowds. I just didn't agree. First, the beer flight. 3/5 were drinkable imo and I really only liked one. The general theme was "skunky." Weird for beer on tap. Wife had flatbread and she liked not at all. The crispy crust was great though. i had the sausage platter- chorizo was perfect, potatoes were yum, mustard was delish, bratwurst was meh. Service good but really busy. Ok, but not a do-over. read more

My wife and I went to a UConn game and swung by this place for dinner prior to the game. First, the building was a great venue. Second, the beers were fantastic. I had one of their IPA's and it was great! Now about the food. We started with some appetizers and they were tasty and filling. We had the wings and pretzels. My wife and I decided to split the pulled pork wrap. It was very good, it just needed some extra sauce, which our waitress brought out very quickly. The food was great and looking over the menu, they tried to have the beer as part of the food selection whenever possible. For example, the onion soup had beer bread croutons. Our pretzels had beer cheese which was tasty. It's a short drive to the arena, so swing on by and enjoy some great beer and tasty food! read more

I love this place. I've loved it through every iteration even when it was just a bar in the 1990s! It's been through several name changes and renovations through the years but the fare has always been excellent. I actually preferred when the theme was the post office, which is what the building was, with the menu reflecting the towns and zip codes of Connecticut. And later the whole frog thing. But now they want to emphasize the beer; I hear it's good (I don't drink beer). Anyway the food is amazing and not all that expensive for what it is. There is also a large room you can rent and they make it really nice for an event. You will NOT regret trying this place. read more

Don't know why is shows me being from Ca. I live here in Windham ct. We went to Willibrew on a Thursday evening Dec 29th. We were seated in a waiting area with two tables and a bench. (area for people waiting for tables) This area had not heat (not good in the covid era). The waitress took our order and we received out appetizer quickly. Sitting there we ended up packed in an area with people walking by sitting on benches all waiting. This made us feel uncomfortable being packed in like this seeing we are senor citizens. We sat there for over an additional 30 minutes waiting for our main course. By the time it got there my wife wanted to leave we asked for boxes and paid the bill, then we noticed the food was already cold. I don't go to Willibrew often even though i live in the area. But i wont be back again. read more

Willibrew! Chicken nachos are the stuff of dreams. Great menu, can't miss with any of the specials either.

We had a fantastic waitress. I always forget their names by the time I get home.. place is so unique inside an old bank. Really eclectic decor. We got chili skins and poppers to start. Both were good but we both felt chili wasn't great. A little sweet and too beer forward. It was just personal taste though. The skins came out crispy bottom, melty tops and they were huge. I'd do it again without chili. Poppers were great. I'm a popper whore and they did great with these. They did not taste frozen and the salsa they served w it was fresh and bright. Steak sandwich was so damn good. Such rich, beefy flavor and the beer onions lended perfectly to the beef. I added mayo and roasted peppers. In my opinion, the bun should be toasted but even w it slightly sloppy we could not stop eating it. Fries were crispy and fresh. Unfortunately we had to send Rueben back and the waitress even said it didn't look like it regularly does. Bread wasn't toasted, kraut was wet and cold as was meat. She was great about it and took it off the bill and we ate my delicious steak sandwich. We will be back to get the poutine and have that beef on top!!! They need to make that a special read more

First time here. The restaurant used to be a large post office now converted into a restaurant. Parking inside and on street parking. Very LOUD ambience with mellow music Menu is on the pricier side, good portions are huge so is the coffee. Waitress was very attentive but we felt almost rushed to order and eat and leave vibes Overall I enjoyed the nacho supreme with pulled pork and my children ordered from the menu the chicken and pasta which they could've shared one plate as it was rather large as well. read more

What a cool spot! The aesthetic looks like a repurposed courthouse so there are very high ceilings with ornate architecture!! The beer was great and they only make their batches once a year so you've gotta try them while they last! I got a delicious IPA called "Junkyard" based on our friendly waitress's recommendations! We had a nice time! I heard their nachos are amazing so I will have to go back some time! read more

Great food, a beautiful building. The loaded nachos are always incredible. I also really enjoy the Cajun fries. The sandwiches are nice, I usually go for a Reuben. This is not a foofy beer joint. Nothing here with "hints of raspberry" or "chocolate notes" or "Undertones of orange". Just beer, plain old fashioned beer served in an old school dark wood saloon of a place. The space used to be a post office, and it sure resembles an old school post office with a long bar. Their beers have postage related names like "Certified Gold" and "Return to sender. The food has zip codes attached to the names of the dishes. The restaurant logo looks like a postage meter imprint. We had 2 of their beer samplers today -$6 for five small glasses. We tried Certified Gold (German style light golden ale), a Holiday Mail Ale (a slightly sweet red ale), a Simply Citra Pale (ale), a special Pub Ale, a First Class Festive Ale (double IPA), Movember Mild (Englsh style Ale), and a New Edition IPA. I'm not much of an IPA fan, and I thought the First Class Festive was too strong to enjoy (but that's just me). I did like the Certified Gold, the Holiday and the Movember. We ordered some food too -stuffed mushrooms for $8 and a nice hummus platter for $10. Two interesting notes- we were there before 4:00 on a Friday and the place was slammin' busy. Also - we were witness to a very bizarre incident -we saw three WBC employees escort a badly inebriated patron out of the bar and walked him into the parking lot where he staggered over to some random bus and hopped on. He was promptly kicked off of the bus so we saw him get kicked out of both a restaurant and a bus in less than three minutes. read more

As always, solid food. Most recently I got the Chinatown chicken salad which was really enjoyable, and was pretty big so it lasted for another meal. It was really fresh and the dressing that came with it was a great balance of sweet and a little tangy. We also got the nachos, which were loaded and had a ton of cheese. They were delicious! I think more chicken should have come with them, though - the ratio of chicken to chips was quite poor. The chicken was seasoned well, though, and were a really good complement to the nachos. We also had to order more sour cream, since there wasn't much of that. Service was a bit slow and we had to summon our waiter a couple times, but it wasn't a huge deal and I still enjoyed the meal. read more

I am officially in love with this place. My friends and I come here a lot, and everyone is always super nice. Last time we went, it was for my 21st birthday, and they gave me a free drink that was delicious (the Pelican Breeze)! I also ordered teriyaki wings because I had a hankering for wings that night, and they totally hit the spot. Really crispy, delicious, and plentiful. They tasted just as good the next day when I wasn't drunk. Also, shout-out to my awesome waitress (whose name I don't remember) who was so friendly and accomodating even though my friends and I were completely wasted and she was trying to close up. The service here has always been spectacular. Keep it up, Willibrew! read more

Willibrew is one of the best things to happen to Willimantic since the thread mill closed down. Located in a beautiful old Post Office and featuring some delicious and varied beers, it is always a highlight of my trip back home (from California, land of the microbrew.) Food is delicious pub fare with an extensive dinner menu, atmosphere is quieter than most pubs (perhaps owing to massive ceilings), service is great, and it just does not get much better. Now, if I could just head to a show at Shaboo Inn afterward (long sigh.) Enjoy, and bon appetit! read more

My husband and I had beverages and dinner. My husband asked for bread to go with his pasta dish. The server acted as if he had asked for a coconut or buffalo tail. Bread, yes just a slice of bread please. 3 small pieces of Italian type bread and butter were provided. Not sure if the server's puzzled look at asking for bread was worse or the $1.50 charge on our $60 bill but definitely felt nickled and dimed on something that would have been a given not that long ago and not all that weird. read more

Greeted just inside door by two smiling employees and they took our number to call us. Little busy and covid protocols in place here. We waited roughly 10 minutes before getting a call. Once back inside we were again greeted cheerfully and seated at the bar. Decor of this old post office building is very cozy. Atmosphere in main area is subdued while back bar area a little more hopping. Our bartender was great! He was knowledgeable, friendly, and had great recommendations. Wife got the mac n cheese with pulled pork and I got the steak poutine. Both were perfect. Highly recommend this restaurant and if you can sit at the bar. Five star service and food. read more

Great food! Great atmosphere--definitely book ahead for St Patty's day. Check their schedule as well.

I love that this is a building that was a fancy old school Post Office. The insides are cherrywood and and high ceilings. The inner square is where they actually brew their beers. We opted to eat at the bar. The bartender was very knowledgeable about the beers that they had on tap and in bottles. I had the chili salad dish. It was delicous. This place is a favorite of Eastern Connecticut State University. I enjoy the photo collages on the walls and the years dating them. For me I paid attention to the way people used to dress from year to year. It was nostalgic for me since I went to UCONN in the early 2000's read more
