Cautionary tale about Willies . They can be wonderful unless you drive anything mildly exotic . I would wait weeks for service on my car sometimes . Because I drive a SAAB . I recently returned to another mechanic in a neighboring town. WHAT a difference ! They are not intimidated by getting me parts and understand that as a single woman , I cannot wait weeks for service on my auto. As far as parts go ? In Woodbury ? Their attitude ? "No problem ! " HOW REFRESHING . Willies screwed up a new radiator install and I almost had to enjoin my Atty. to get them to resolve the issue . To their credit ? They finally did . They do not like Democrats in their shop. I write about politics and they do not like non Trumpers . All my friends would get their cars repaired quickly . Not me . I was left to assume it was personal b/c nothing else made sense . Willie wouldn't even take my phone calls . And I'm a nice person . When they are *on * ? Willies can be good . I write this review for the single women , heads up . If they like you ? Your politics ? Your experience may be better . read more

I recently moved to the area and was a little worried I wouldn't find a reliable, reasonable mechanic close by like I had near my previous house. Boy was I wrong. I cannot stress it enough how important it is and also how hard it is to find a reliable and trustworthy mechanic. This shop is the best i have encountered for years now. Clear expectations on when I'd have my vehicle back, clearly confined what they'd be diagnosing and provided knowledgeable, skilled recommendations. There was no attempt to upsell additional services, etc. I greatly value the shop and the team has my utmost respect. I had a really positive experience with Willie's automotive. I had taken my car to get an oil change a couple weeks before going to Willie's, and I was told that my front brakes were at 10% and the back brakes were "fine". I decided to get the brakes serviced just to err on the side of caution, and when Willie's did their more thorough check, they found the back brakes completely rusted and both sets of brakes needed to be replaced. I was thankful that they had seen what had been missed by someone else. I have high risk folks at home, so I need to be extremely careful due to the pandemic. I felt extremely well taken care of and completely at ease. My car was wiped before the technicians worked on the car and thoroughly wiped down and sanitized after the work was completed. I was reassured about this many times, and I was just so grateful for the extra attention and care. I was gonna take my car for a routine oil change, when I had noticed a knocking noise on the right drivers side and I heard so many good things about this place I had to see... I've had bad experiences at chain places so I was very curious and afraid to bring my car to a place I never been, to start off when I got there everyone was so kind and welcoming. The receptionist was phenomenal and even offered to bring me home and pick me up after my car was fixed that was very kind but she had to do something else so Someone else there gave me a ride..So they bring me home and I'm going crazy in my mind with what the price was gonna be(again because I've been screwed before by other places) when I got the phone call and was told the price I was amazed. Just the best We had brought our 2011 accord to Honda with a service light on. They told us we needed both catalytic converters replaced at a cost of $2500 It seemed like a lot so I called Willie He said he would only charge $2000 for same job. But he also said it seems odd that both went alt the same time with only 100000 miles ,and he will look it over Bottom line $289 later it's all fixed and it was NOT the converters. I've been around cars my entire life and I know a lot myself. Willie's Automotive is the real deal. Willie himself is such a nice guy and a straight shooter. If you need something not only is he going to tell you what it is, but he will tell you why and with pictures to boot. Not to mention he wants to make sure that you have every understanding of what is being done to your car and what you're expected to pay. I appreciate the transparency greatly. More than anything, though, I appreciate that Willie speaks to me about cars without the assumption that I don't know anything about them. And, the best thing is that if you actually don't know a thing about cars Willie and Chris will educate you in a way that doesn't make you feel dumb for not knowing in the first place. Came in spur of the moment just to make an appointment for an oil change and to have a few things looked it... they were able to fit me right in!! Found out that they give a discount for teachers (I'm not one, but it's good to know!), they serve homemade baked goods (most days), and they will even give you a ride to pretty much anywhere you want if you have to wait!! They have an adorable puppy you can visit with too who is adorable! Super friendly and clean... highly recommend Willie and Chris! Just heard all their parts have a 3yr warranty too which adds some piece of mind for that as well. read more

Just the nicest, most competent people in the business! I had a sudden issue driving through Southbury and pulled in @ 4 PM. I asked for a break , requesting immediate assistance as my car was making a grinding noise over 20 MPH, so I couldn't drive home. They got me right in and fixed the problem within 30 minutes. To my surprise he offered to finish what i started utilizing my parts at a fantastic price. I was so impressed by his professionalism that i had him replace all four tires.
