Walked in to pick up an order I had purchased online on a Saturday. First let me start by stating that I have always been a fan of Williams-Sonoma. They have lots of things for sell that I did not know I needed nor existed. But this time the lady at the counter acted as if I was lost or she was on medication. I told her I was there to pick up an order and she asked me if I was sure it was a store pick up order and not an order to be delivered. Then she asked if I was at the correct store. Then she asked if I had already paid for the order then finally she asked what was I picking up. When I told her she said oh, yes I believe I saw that back there. I miss the days of people just asking to see the order. Oh and after she handed my paid item to me she asked if I needed a bag. Do better Williams-Sonoma. I do recommend this store as we need to keep the brink & mortars open. read more

Williams-Sonoma is one of those places you love to hate. They offer quality products, sometimes at high price points, but deals are to be had if you know how, when and where look. Let me share a few secrets, if you are a home cook you do not need more than a Chef knife, Vegetable Knife (scalloped), Utility knife, pairing knife, Santoku knife and a bread knife. You get a better deal if you buy cutlery sets only offered to Williams Sonoma. If you want quality cookware that you can pass down to generations check out the Clearance section for Staub and Le Creuset cookware. If you want to try different braising sauces, wait to the month they are set to expire and you can grab them at half off(date night on another level). Williams-Sonoma Gold touch bakeware is better than the Cleartouch and worth the price, but again a sale is better. f you purchase cutlery for WS you can get knife sharpening at their locations, but ensure you inform them of your blade types so they get the angles correct. read more

Went for father's day with my dad for the little class on steak. They had coffee there along with 2 different syrups to try incase you wanted something. Also water was available. I can't really complain since it's FREE. Feels weird to criticize but I have to. Going for just the class is not worth it. It's not some full breakdown or really informative on the cuts of meat or anything. I think if anything it's more so helpful to those that might be interested to see what seasonsings/sauces are used and what fancy/expensive pans or skillets are used for the dish they're making. But even then it's not like alot of info is given on the cooking tools they use, just more so brand name and type (like if it's cast iron or enamel). Maybe while you shop throughout the store they give more info. Plantain chips and a bit of chimmichurri sauce was given, like 4-5 chips a person. The steak had a dry chimmichurri rub that was yummy. Probably would've been better if the lady had let the steak "rest" for the 10 minutes but maybe she felt that others were impatient and that's why she cut into it as soon as she took it off the pan. For those that think they'll get fed, you are wrong and don't ever go in with that expectation. You're getting a small sampling. Overall MAYBE like 2-3 bits of the actual entree. I knew this going in but I feel like alot of people don't so that's why i mention it. I went knowing this, but my plan was to look at bakeware anyway since I had never been in a WS store. horrible service. ive been trying to place an online order for about $1100.00, 7 times and each time its canceled. no email no text alert nothing. i only notice when i go into my order history. ive spoken to 5 different customer service reps, all whom assure me my order will be processed successfully and everything looks correct. Then a few hours later boom canceled again. i spoke to supervisor Amy Eckart, who could care less. she initially didnt want to talk to me. She kept pushing the agent to just re-order for me and had me waiting 50 minutes until she decided to take my call. I found out on TikTok that you can take a free cooking class (instructor led). We were offered complimentary coffee, margaritas and burgers. We watched her grill and cook the burgers. Super delicious. Everyone was super kind and welcoming. Definitely going to make this a monthly thing! read more

So awkward. I was interrogated by the cashier when I returned a product that I brought at Highland Village Mall. She asked with a condescending tone, "Why is everyone bringing stuff to return at this store?" My reply, "so sorry. I didn't know it's against your policy." She asked, "Do you live around here?" ***WTF???*** I was not happy with this type question but I kept my cool. "This Memorial City location is closer to Highland Village store. I don't have to fight the traffic..." I was thinking when this conversation would end. Without any positive thoughts with this dialogue, I became irritated. She asked if I want to buy anything here. I politely declined, "not today. It's kind of hot outside. I think I better go home now." It's hard to get here with construction on Memorial Drive but really easy from Beltway. Two years ago, I made the 90 minute drive to this store to pick up Goldtouch cookie sheets. Despite them showing available, they had none and I was going to have to pay to have them shipped to me so I took a pass. Fast forward, I still want the pans, don't want to again make the 90 minute drive so I order them. Order by Dec. 19 to get them in time for Christmas you say. I ordered on Dec. 14. On Dec. 15, you send me a thanks for your order email. Dec. 22 gets here and still no pans so I log on to check the status to learn that the estimated delivery is Jan. 2-3 with the word "backordered" in the small print. Did you bother to send a note letting me know they were back ordered? Did you offer to discount in any way since you solicited the order promising delivery by Christmas? No, no you did not. Today is Jan. 6 and they are still not here. Shameful service. read more

Corporate needs to look into this stores managerial skills. Everything seems chaotic at this store, besides the shelves holding the products nothing else is organized, especially in-store pickup. I placed an order for $1k expresso machine that said would be ready within two hours for pickup. 3 days later I decided to call regarding my order, they said the order had not been pushed through into their system, I called customer service that said the store has to accept the order. Called the store back that said they have the order but not enough man power to complete the order. Six days later I walked into the chaotic store asked if they had the item in stock, which they did but did not want to give it to me unless I canceled my online order and purchased it at the store. Not sure why they would even have to go through that whole process when they can just mark my order as picked up, unless they just wanted the commission on the item. It was only because I told them that I bought it with a gift card that they approved the online pickup. Something is going on at this store and the only one I can blame at this point is management. They do not know how to lead a team or keep the store running correctly. Horrible experience. I might as well just ordered the item online and had it shipped to my house. I've shopped here for years & this is a first. Far and few between have I been in an establishment and not been helped in the first few moments... Not today - skipped over several times as if I didn't exist - trust when I say I don't blend in... Further - an employee walked in my direction and without so much as even asking me, proceeded to remark - "oh you're just looking," and walked away! Ugh. How would you know that if you didn't even take the time to ask me??? Further - who cares? You judged before even asking what I needed or IF I even needed assistance... I have shopped here for years. I have always been greeted warmly, sometimes offered a small sample of a beverage. If I ask after an item not on the shelf, they call to the back or go themselves to check for it. For large items, they offer to carry it to my car. I took my daughter to the Junior Chef Class this morning for the first time and she and I both had a great time! The instructor was very likable, animated and engaging--perfect personality for the kids! The kids were able to be hands on during the preparation of the food, and were also able to taste their finished products. As a foodie, I was inspired by the various cooking supplies and unique array of ingredients at this location. I was also thrilled to make a donation to the "No Kid Hungry" cause today. This is where I come when I need professional kitchen consultation because while I typically prefer DIY, I don't like wasting money and there's only so much one can derive from product reviews and trial & error. I already know I get the best here, but it's the advice that comes with it that I can't get anywhere else. Do I really want to save 10$ on an instantpot from Walmart when there are 5 different ones that could take hours of research to hone in on the right one for me, or a few seconds with a williams sonoma employee who can even demo it for me? Time is money, and seeing is believing. An important, long-term, day-to-day activity like cooking deserves expertise and experience to mentor my development, so if I pay a little more for the best, it's really paying for itself, or I'm just lazy. As hard as we work, we deserve to be lazy sometimes, and in the end an instantpot meal I can only get here makes me come back again and again. read more

I love the brand but I'm not pleased with this store at all. I was on a visit to Houston from Dallas, where I live and stopped into the store - just to browse. They had an amazing clearance sale and I purchased an Ibex horn on a stand and they agreed to ship it to me. Sadly, while they shipped promptly, the packaging was poor and the item was shattered beyond repair. These things happen. I was disappointed but very aware that sometimes things get damaged in shipment. The real service disconnect came when I called the store to report the damage to the item and give them an option on whether they wanted me to mail it back to them, drop it off at a store or discard it. I spoke to a lady called Beth and she gave me a phone number to which she requested that I text photos of the damaged item and a copy of the receipt. She said she would give me a refund immediately to the credit card I paid with. She also instructed me to discard the damaged items. She told me that she would have the refund completed by the end of the day. I followed up with her two days later and she said that she had been very busy and had not been able to do the refund but would do so immediately. It is now, more than a week later, I have made multiple calls to the store, my last call was 30 minutes of being placed on hold with absolutely no response. As a last resort I contacted my credit card company and disputed the transaction in the hopes that I can get the refund I was promised. This is not the level of service I expect from this brand and it's also not a level of service I'm willing to accept from this brand. This is very discouraging to see from my favorite brand. I really think that the mediocre service is limited just to the store because I called their 800 number and their willingness to help was fantastic except that they wanted a transaction number which was not available on my receipt. read more

They picked it up and I waited another 6 months for the replacement. While I waited WS sent me a $3K gift card for my inconvenience, then they took it back. Finally I canceled the sofa. My wife and I recently picked up an online order at William Sonoma Town&Country Houston. When we arrived at the parking lot, I called the number at curbside as instructed, but nobody answered so we went inside to pickup. There were a couple of staff members attending customers at the register so we decided to wait in line. The customers kept chatting for a few minutes, and just as one was finally done chatting, the employee at the now open register, rather than attending to us (she definitely saw us waiting in line), she started to join the chat with the other customer at the other register, still chatting and laughing. After a few seconds, another customer walked in. When the same employee saw this new customer, knowing we were waiting for several minutes, she called on the new customer and asked them if they could be helped. Before the employee could intentionally neglect us, I walked up to let the other customer know that my wife and I had been waiting for 10-15 minutes including the time we waited curbside for this pickup. Then the employee with a sarcastic tone and condescending look started to "apologize" to us for "upsetting" us "for the long wait and for not answering the phone for curbside pickup". What upset us was not the long wait time or the fact that nobody answered the phone. What upset us was the employee taking her time to obviously ignore us, and attempting to go to another customer knowing we were waiting in line for a long time. The mindset and intentions of this employee should be reviewed (we hope this incident was not driven by anything racial, as I am Asian American, and all other customers being attended were White and Black American), and the employee should be briefed on customer service, and the reason why she is getting paid, to serve all paying customers with equal care and courtesy. This type of claim could be easily avoided, just by practicing basic customer service. I believe the manager witnessed this so she should know the name of this employee. On a side note, before walking out of the store, we noticed at least 3 people with tiny name tags on their chest, where we realized after the incident that there were at least 3 other employees other than the 2 at the register, where any one of them could have offered to help us when we were waiting in line with nothing in our hands. Before noticing the name tags on our way out, we thought those were just other customers walking around the store. This just adds to the disappointment and frustration towards overall lack of customer service. read more

The reviews are true. I found what I was looking for and went to the counter. Unfortunately I had left my wallet at home. My wife sent me a pic of the gift card if intended to use. I'd actually called ahead and been told this would work as long as we had the PIN. When I got to the checkout, not only did the jerk there say I couldn't use it, but gave an exaggerated eye roll and scoff-laugh in front of a big crowd. What an asshole! Charles the store manager is really sweet and was the first person to check on me. Shennel was working and also offered to help. Jeremiah from Nepresso was also very helpful and knowledgeable. I want a new coffee machine now after speaking with him about the latest coffee gadget. I purchased spiced chestnut hand lotion (smells amazing) and the stainless pump and Meyer Lemon countertop spray. The previous reviews about poor customer service at this location could not be more accurate. This W-S location is near my neighborhood and every time I pop in the customer service is dreadful. On one instance employees rang up purchases for themselves even though I was in line at the cash wrap waiting to be checked out. I am rarely, if ever asked if I need assistance. And on my last trip to this store two weeks ago I stood in line at the cash wrap for 5 minutes (yes, I timed it I was that peeved at customer service) before anyone noticed I needed to be checked out. On October 19 at about 3pm we were checking out. Sales ladies Gayle and another woman was helpful and kind. As I'm being checked out the manager tells the clerk that she has three people behind the counter and orders the clerk to stop my transaction and go on the floor to work. I then have to go stand in another line and wait. By the time I reach the front the cash register is on the blink. I then go to another line....which is back to the original cash register I was at! The manager could have told the clerk , "AFTER, you help this couple please return to the floor." She visibly embarrassed the young woman "bossing" her around and in turn inconvenienced us. It was a solid 15 minutes to finish a short transaction. I'm in management and thought her to be crass and callous. Poor so called leadership. Wow as much money as I spend at WS, I will NEVER COME BACK TO THIS STORE as long as the one person I had an issue with works here! THIS STORE HAS RACIST PEOPLE WORKING HERE. There was a cooking class being prepared and I was just taking a look at the menu being taught. It smelt good and I love to cook so I was just curious. The menu was just sitting there at the end of the table so I picked it up and looked at it. The first employee explained to me that there is a cooking class with about 20 ppl going to happen, nicely promoting the event as well as being welcoming. Then the cooking class teacher looked at me and said "yes so please don't disturb the process" all snooty. I think she's racist and has some white supremacy issues. The way she talked down on me and made the faces was something I had never experienced before. I felt so uncomfortable. I definitely responded back and said "you don't have to be so rude about it." No apology, she just turns to her other cook friend and whispers something and they start chuckling. They were old ladies who were acting like some teenage girls. I went up to her and asked for her name. Her response was "why do you need that information?" So I told her because I'm going to report you. She panicked and tried to defer my question. The floor manager was right there and heard the whole thing. It's sad that I had to make a big deal about it for anyone to acknowledge what just went down. Pretty disappointing. Although the manager reassured me that there will be repercussions, it's still such a terrible experience. If you're not white, I guess you're not welcomed at Williams Sonoma! read more

The store organization/setup and most of the staff was a total disaster. I needed help finding multiple items and most of the 20+ employees working seemed clueless. The individual working in the knife section was an exception. He was knowledgeable and helpful. The woman who checked me out didn't know how to use the POS system, didn't allow me to put in my number for rewards, and was confused on the amount of my order that was right in front of her on the screen. In addition the wait to have an item gift wrapped was 4 hours even though there were a ton of people working. Will avoid this location in the future. read more

I cook so Williams Sonoma is my toystore. The reason I especially like this one, is the techniques cooking classes that they do most Sunday mornings. These are free classes so don't expect to come out a gourmet cook. However, the woman that teaches the classes is knowledgeable and personable and willing to share. The classes follow a set format (they are kind of canned Williams-Sonoma) and yes they will try to sell you the products they are using. Just say no to the $150 frittata pan (all it is is two saute pans stuck together anyway). Beyond that, the classes are good recipes with some basic cooking techniques thrown in. Good classes for beginners and fun for more advanced cooks. They send you home with a set of recipes and, sometimes, free products from the store to try. Since the classes are before the store opens, you can browse afterwards without the crowds. Not bad for a free service. read more

We've visited W-S in many states over the years, and the service experience we had here was top notch. We were only picking up a few minor items, but the staff was spot on, helped us out every step of the way. So you think a dachshund that's 3" off the ground and lacking opposable thumbs can't write a review for a kitchen supply store? Wrong again! This is Mason, your cultured gourmet dachshund writing another review for Anthony, who's struggling with his 2012 taxes right now. I can write the review because I'm the beneficiary of the tasty goodness that Anthony's visits to W-S produce. So, it's pricey, and you can find a number of items for much much less. In fact, Anthony was describing his search for the All-Clad crock-pot, which W-S had an "exclusive" model and Macy's had one on sale for over $100 less. The "exclusive" part? The W-S version had a white ceramic insert; the Macy's was black. However, there are other things they do that are exclusive and excellent, such as the gold-finish meat loaf pan with the perforated insert to drain fat. I am proud of my svelte figure, and when I spend .03 nanoseconds chomping down a leftover, it's great to know that it's not saturated with fat. That Chihuahua down the street has been casting her eyes my way on our walks and I want to stay trim and slim for her. But I digress again. They have some sauces and stuff no one else has; their staff is helpful and friendly and one even sent home a taste treat for me! I really want to meet her so I can lick her nose. But like selecting partners anywhere, you need to be careful and selective and you'll do fine. I have to go. When I brought this fact to an employee she said they were allowed to sell food products fir up to a year past their sell by date. She added that is why it is on clearance. Was desperately needing a grill humidifier, the one gift for Valentine's Day my SO did not have, W-S had it, and it was on sale. The beer making kits are never stocked and that is an on-line purchase. The place is pricey and if you want a wine cleaning tool you can find that at BB&B or World Market for half price but when you want something really unique this is a place. Specialty wine glasses, selection not that great, the dishware from Portugal, cheaper to fly there and haul it back. Sauces, pumpkin bread mixes, etc., are great gift ideas, still pricey. Service, was nonexistent today, usually someone helps me, and yes that someone is usually mature. Today the cashier did ask who helped me, my answer was moi. I usually really love walking into a Williams Sonoma. The staff is generally polite, knowledgeable and helpful. This was not the case at this particular location. I came in looking for a hand mixer. Usually I find an assortment with the large bowl mixers but there were none to be found. Only 2 people were working that morning. One man was busily and politely helping a handful of customers who were waiting for assistance. One was on the phone. It sounded as though he was handling business so I patiently waited with the other customers for my turn. Between phone calls the young man attempted to assist me with a mixer. I asked if they only had the Breville model in stock. (I finally found one hand mixer out near the register) and he responded that he wasn't sure but they had some others in the back. He laid out what they had and advised I choose the cuisinart with the protective case. I told him I didn't think I needed a case for it and I would take the one without. Then he argues that it was a better value for my money because it held all the accessories. I asked what accessories this mixer came with. And he replied it was just the two beater blades. I reiterated that I didn't need the case and I would take the cuisinart without the case. He then took another phone call. I waited patiently through his call and took the time to text my mother on which mixer I was looking at. When he finished his call he continued to tell me that he would look in the back. However. He then said "hello. excuse me. Up here. Thank you". Promoting me to look in his eyes when he was speaking. Apparently my attention to my phone was rude to him and he wanted to make sure I was paying attention so I didn't waste his valuable time. After I waited all this time for him to get off the phone to assist me, my texts to my mother where apparently inappropriate. I was aghast. It was incredibly rude. He then went to check in the back. The only mixer they had was the Breville that was on the floor. He said he would give me 10% off because it wasn't the cuisinart. Well at this point I really didn't want to buy a mixer from him at all after his behavior. However I needed a mixer within the next hour. So I ended up buying the Breville I will not be purchasing any items from this particular location again. I'm a grown woman of 35. Probably older than this young man. And he acted like I was a teenager who wasn't listening to him. I've never been treated like that in a Williams Sonoma before. I will not be back. read more

Do not register at Williams-Sonoma. Returns/gift exchanges to this store were a nightmare. This store took over an hour per return. Then, they didn't get the return correct. They sent gift cards to the wrong address. They lied about making returns and never processed them. I spent hours on the phone with corporate trying to fix their mistakes. Worst registry experience ever. Their computer systems do not connect, and nothing makes sense with their business practices considering they are supposed to specialize in registries. Brides beware. Bed Bath and Beyond and Sur la Table are the way to go. read more

I went by Town&Country's Williams-Sonoma to pick up an anniversary gift for a friend. The manager there was rude with attitude from the beginning of our interaction. Retail burn-out is understandable. However, if this is something one is experiencing, it is time to take a vacation, or find other means of employment outside of retail. I have been to many William Sonoma stores in many different states, and had very good experience almost every time. Never have I expected that this place in Houston could be that bad. I went there for a quick purchase, while checking out, the machines broke and couldn't print my receipt. My credit card was charged and I showed the sales person the transaction pending on my cell phone. I had previous experience before st a department store, the manager came quickly gave me a hand written receipt and I gave her my name, address and phone number without even asking for it. This place let me wait for over one hour while calling their IT to fix the issue. There was over 5 or 6 sales persons in the store and no one offer to come and apologize or provide some explanation. What is worse is when I offered to get a paper receipt and give them my info as I did previously in another store. No body even looked at me or listened, they acted like I was coming from a different planet. If there was a manager in that store he or she was hiding. The bad management was obvious in everything else in the store. Dirty, stuff are everywhere and very unorganized. These people are so full of themselves. they forget that they are just entry level sales people and acted like they own the place. It was very obvious, a discrimination issue. I am stunned at bad reviews for this location! They have always been above and beyond for me. Today I went in seeking an item and Johnathan gave me a sample to hold me over until my order arrives.
