i am sharing my experience not with the new owners Marco and Jose Navarrete and not the previous owner - Mr Williams. I started using their service way back when they were still at Schaumburg followed them at Arlington Hts and at this current one in Streamwood. I informed Mr Marco from the get go that i don't know anything about cars. All these years, i found them reliable, spoke highly of them that friends sought their service too... ONLY TO FIND that I got cheated. About 2 years ago, I encountered problems with my driver's side remote door lock and CD / radio. Marco charged me for those parts BUT did not replace them. He tried to fix both all to no avail. The last issue that i got to know is that he put the wrong size of battery in my car....a bigger one that affected its mount. Please make sure you request for the old part if he advises you that it need to be changed. read more

Place is reasonably priced , had emergency front end work done and These guys hooked it up with towing and a speedy repair. Overall happy!

My car needed a new wheel and four tires. After ordering the parts the first time, they took my car in only to let me know the wheel they ordered was the incorrect one and they needed to order a new one. They did not charge me for the new one, and I actually got a refund when there was a price difference. The repairs have been great and I anticipate my next repairs will be done through them. The new owners just cashed the check for the oil change over 5 months after it was done. Don't go there they are liars and scam artists.

We have been using Williams to repair our cars for over 25 years and the quality of service goes above and beyond , and they are very reasonably priced. The One time in 25 years we went cheaper to another place and the quality of service was so poor we had to come back to Williams for them to repair it. For years, I did most of my own work on my cars. Well, these days, I'd rather spend the time with my family than under the car. My point is that I know something about cars and don't trust many auto shops. I've been bringing our cars to Ed at William's for 12 years now and am completely happy. More than that, I trust him. I've never had any sort of problem. None. He accommodates our drop-offs/pick-ups, charges what he says he's going to charge, and calls when something else needs to be considered. And, he tells me when something else needs fixing or will soon. Ed knows we keep our cars for a long time and advises us for the long haul. We can't always do everything soon, so we do it in stages. I refer friends to William's without hesitation - and when I need help (a tow during rush hour a couple years back), I call Ed. To me, that says a lot. read more

Pretty sure these guys screwed me. Brought a trailer in there for bearing repack, 2 light bulb changes, and to throw new rims and tires that I brought with on while they had the old ones off. Called to see if it was done, he said it was. Went to pick it up and the old rims and tires were still on the trailer, he didn't replace any light bulbs, and I'm 99% sure he didn't pack the bearings, I wish I could prove he didn't do the work. read more

I have a high mileage Ford truck and was referred to Williams by a good friend after I explained my unpleasant experiences with the dealer. Ed is a great guy who stands behind everything done in the shop. They do quality work for a very fair price. I take all of my vehicles to Ed because I know the evaluation will be thorough and correct. As an HVAC contractor, I do not have much down time to spend waiting for vehicles to be ready or be returning for the same issues over and over. I had an old Corolla with more problems than an algebra book, until I went to William's. This place has been here for 35 years now, and there's a good reason why. Ed always took great care of my car, and I never had to go back for the same problem. He kept me informed of what was going on with the car, what I should look out for, what would need maintenance soon, and was honest with me when a repair just wasn't worth it (cost of labor vs. worth of the car). He's a good, honest man and earned my trust after I was burned badly at another repair shop. If your car has problems, seriously, this is the place to go! read more

I have three old cars in my family. A '99, an '02, and an '05. We moved to Streamwood about a year ago. The older two cars had issues. Ed Williams was very professional and systematic in both cases. He told us all of the issues they had, with price estimates, but was very up-front about which repairs would actually make sense, given the low value of the cars. He was crystal clear as to the repairs that had to be done for basic safety. Given the age and condition of those cars, that was fine, and those cars are now safe and I'm not worried about the discretionary repairs that could theoretically be made (nor is he.) It's so nice to have a trusted car expert that thinks like the customer thinks. My '05 is a NIssan Maxima. No rust, in great shape cosmetically, uses no oil, and the oil stays clean between changes. Everything on it worked, except ABS brakes. (Dealer wanted $2200 to fix -- basically the problem was a wheel sensor.) Anyway, I returned from a long trip to northern Canada and knew I had suspension issues. Bottom line, at 136,000 miles, plugs had never been changed, no shocks or struts had ever been replaced, tie rods, stabilizers, etc were shot, brakes/rotors needed replacing and I will just say: ETC. But I really like this car, and Ed and I had a discussion about how long I wanted to keep it, which was a long time if it was in great shape. Bottom line, the car is now in great shape, ABS works, and the car drives and rides just like it did when I bought it new 11 years ago. I'm thrilled. And as Ed pointed out, the cost of all these repairs was basically what just the sales tax would have been on a mid-level new car. Ed's operation is very busy. He has lots of customers. There are some very good reasons for that! read more

Avoid like the plague. This guys fixes nothing...like a dealer all he does is replace at a premium price.

My wife's car broke down near them, she was with our 2 small kids, when she went in to ask for help, they seemed to be bothered by her. they said they could look at the car, and for that ,would cost $89.95 for a scan. and they would call in bout an hour to let her know the findings. 3 hours later, not receiving a call She asked our neighbor to bring her over there to find out what's going on, remember, 3 hours earlier they said they were going to call us. she entered the station the guy was seen eating in the back., he said ,"oh I was just about to call you". BS . here's were it gets better, they charged her double from what they said earlier, just to hook it up supposably. First and last time ever going there, we've lived in the area for over 10 years. I feel this would have been a great chance to gain a new customer, just very disappointed, $180 later we are left to feel we have been taken. read more

Usually I am proud to have come from Streamwood. Now, not so much. Went to the doctor and visited with my mom. I live about an hour and a half away now so I don't get up there as much as I would like to. Went to leave her house and noticed one of my tires was low. Went to Williams over by the old roller rink to get a little air to make the drive home. They no longer have the hose out for the public, which hardly anyone does anymore. What sucked is we asked if we could put a little air in the tire (they were actually working on a tire with the air hose laying right by our car). The owner/boss said no, it's a liability but we will fix the tire. Fix what!?!?! It's just a low tire and needs air. Nope, it's a liability. Fine you f**kers. Drove down the road, stopped at Mak on Bartlett & 19. They said, sure no problem, put in the air and asked if we wanted the others checked. Bottom line, Williams could have cared less that a motorist was driving with a low tire unless they spent money. So thank you Williams for being pieces of crap and thank you Mak's for helping us out. Such a disappointment from a business that's been around for so very long in Streamwood. read more
