I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt and presuming she was under pressure to see a lot of patients as quickly as possible and this explains the careless treatment I consistently received. She was usually very unclear in explaining things and in too much of a hurry to answer questions, which she would sometimes refer to her assistant, who was also clueless. The whole office was horribly run. No one live ever answered the phone. You had to leave a voicemail. Calls were usually not returned the same day. It could take days to set up an appointment. After a visit, I often got a followup survey about my experience emailed to me. But when I filled it out and tried to email it back, I would get an error message about a server problem. Every single time!!! Nothing about this particular office works! Truly an awful experience! So glad to be done with them. Used to be so much better.

Since then, I have come to know, this Doctor knows everything there is about the craft. A pharmacy sales rep once told me, he often knows more prior to a release of the drug, then a salesperson would after their training. This guy reads everything, test him on a survey, ask him the odd questions, he will share, just bring a pen and paper... Dr. Insel is thorough, intelligent, knowledgeable and caring. I have spoken to others who know him and they are all in agreement. If you come to be a patient, be aware he will be with you your entire way. There is one drawback, you might sit in the waiting room for appointments. He is thorough and listens, the every patient, so budget your time. Keep in mind the really good doctors are in demand, so when you want the best there are some things you must sacrifice. Their billing department is completely incompetent. They repeatedly billed BCBS with a code that…read morepaid them nothing and tried to collect from me even though every explanation of benefits or explanation of payment clearly states that the patient is not responsible for anything that the insurance company doesn't pay (other than the patient's co-pay.) BCBS and I had many phone calls with them trying to get them to submit the claim with the correct code. They continually use the wrong code and didn't get paid and kept trying to collect the money from me. Eventually, with Blue Cross Blue Shield giving them a special exception so that they could file their form even though it was past the deadline, they were able to collect some money from Blue Cross Blue Shield and I paid my co-pay. My visit was in March 2023, and they didn't get things straight with Blue Cross Blue Shield until July 2025. Here it is August 2026, and I got a notice that they sent me to a collection agency for the entire amount that they tried to bill Blue Cross Blue Shield! I again got Blue Cross Blue Shield on the phone with their billing agent, who says oh no, they pulled it back from collections after they received payment in July 2025. Yet the collection agency took 13 months to find me, since I moved out of state in April 2025. If indeed clinical associates had canceled the collection on me, the collection agency had 13 months to take me off their list yet they didn't. If you receive any bills from this practice, I suggest you look very carefully to make sure that you or your insurance company haven't already paid them.

No attempt to establish any type or patient/physician relationship. I described the only issue I have been having, and he prescribed me an anti-depressant because it would also help with my symptoms, although I'm not experiencing any of the symptoms associated with depression. Understandable that medicine can be used for treatment of other things. Totally irresponsible to prescribe me a new medication that is known to have side effects that can alter your brain chemistry and then tell me to schedule a follow-up in ONE YEAR. The only reason I am giving two stars is because the rest of the staff was fantastic

We've been with Clinical Associates since the mid '90's. I like my primary care physicians and the…read moreother specialists I've seen at the site. However, over the last 6 months, I have experienced MANY office communication problems. This is across the board with specialists and primary care physicians. The providers' staff DO NOT return phone calls or respond to messages. I had to physically walk into the back of my primary doctor's office, (without an appointment, and no one at the front desk) to get a referral for PT after calling four times with the request. The nurse was concerned she hadn't gotten the messages, and I showed her my call log to verify the contacts. This is just one example, we have had three other concerning encounters involving cancelled appointments (on their end), records not being forwarded to specialists outside the site, and an inability to schedule or reschedule appointments as no one returns our calls. Primary doctors and nurse practitioners retire or resign and there are no replacements, the existing doctors are stretched thin. We unfortunately, after 30+ years, will be looking for a location.

I'm here because I'm sick. Not because I want to hear about your family. I've gone in 3x to this place in Quarry Lake. I hate it. Office is always over crowded. Waiting room is so small. Earliest available appointments are months in advance. Forget about being sick and needing help right away. My initial appointment was simply to get a referral for the allergy center--I legitimately have terrible allergies. In order to get a referral I have to be an "active member" in the system. To be an active member, I need to come in for an appointment. When leaving the room briefly for something, I glanced at my medical file and it said, "obesity, psychiatry, and allergies". Thanks Dr. Berger. Glad you take note on everything. Interestingly, I had a softball accident (I'm not so obsese I can't play softball) one summer and made the epic-fail decision to slide into home. I ended up skinning my leg from above the knee down to my ankle. After a few weeks of pussing and bleeding, I knew it was infected. I went in for an appt and Dr. Berger adamantly said my wound was not infected, and I should be fine. He attempted to dress the wound and admittedly said that "dressing wounds were not his expertise." I ended up with a poorly-engineered gauze and tape contraption that was pulled off immediately after walking out. After telling me I was fine and his failed attempt at dressing the wound I find a few months later the several 100 dollar appointment that was submitted to insurance. It didn't cost me a penny but I can't believe insurance had to pay 100s of dollars for gauze and tape and an aloof "you're fine". Furthermore, I waited a week or two because I genuinely thought Dr. Berger knew his shit....I was in so much pain that I went into a patient first. Sure enough, leg was infected and they gave me a work note to stay off my feet for 48 hours so the wound could heal (and krutches). Is it wrong that I feel Patient First actually cared more about me than my PCP (primary care physician)? Yes! And that is why I no longer go to Quarry Lake.
