For starters, his office is run down and depressing looking. That should've been the first warning…read moresign. Then again, everything in Baltimore is run down and depressing...so how was I supposed to know that doctors offices here would be any different? His secretary was deaf and blasted rightwing talk radio throughout the waiting room. I don't know if that's better or worse than the usual John Tesh and Yanni's Greatest Hits that get played in most doctors office waiting rooms, but it was really annoying, nonetheless...especially since Dr. John was always running late. In all seriousness though, this guy should have his license taken away, and that I'm not even remotely joking about. He misdiagnosed and mistreated a staph infection I had, causing me to have to endure months upon months worth of pain and suffering unnecessarily. His advice for dealing with the staph infection? Put a bandaid with some Neosporin on it over the wound. That's like telling someone with pancreatic cancer to drink some orange juice and get some rest. After getting some legitimate treatment from a legitimate doctor (Dr. Jonathan Zenilman at Hopkins, who immediately diagnosed the problem for what it was, and immediately put me on a course of treatment which cleared up the infection within weeks, after months upon months worth of suffering the incompetency of Dr. John) I was able to finally get the issue resolved. I'm not a lawsuit trigger happy kind of guy, but I contemplated suing Dr. John for malpractice for the way he mistreated me, solely so that I could keep other people from suffering at his hands as well. Ultimately, a negative review on Yelp is probably cheaper and more efficient than trying to do anything through the broken US legal system. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS!!!

Never rushes and is very patient to take the time to LISTEN and answer any questions or doubts. I visited this past Monday to see an ophthalmologist about a chalazion on my eye…read more Long story short, I felt seen and heard by the ophthalmologist after receiving poor care from a prior ophthalmologist and having a bump on my eye for the better part of this year. The doctor here immediately launched a plan to help me rid my face of the chalazion. First pass was an injection to the chalazion which she administered the same day. I have a follow up visit in 2 weeks at which time, the doctor will assess my progress and determine next steps. Given how quickly and assertively she tended to my issue, I know I can trust her with my care. Glad I found this place (but wish I'd gone here with my original issue. Sigh).

Billing department doesn't know what they are doing or they have major issues based on my…read moreexperience and the many reviews. Received a bill for the doctor and hospital on same statement. First statement ever received from them, no invoice received. It didn't credit the insurance payments that were sent. It miscredited my out of pocket payment as an insurance payment. I used EOB and was proactive to pay. When talking to the rep I was told the hospital billing isn't their issue. Then why is on the statement you trying collect money for. The bill is paid in full between insurance payouts of over 4000 and my copays and they still want money. Based on the other reviews about immediate collections I am awaiting to see if they get it fixed. I was told to call back in two weeks, after the due date. Rep had a piss poor attitude that sours the experience of an other words good surgery and surgeon. EDIT: for reply from owner. I provided all the details to the rep including EOB benefits paid and dates paid. If you want the details talk to your rep as I have already given it.EDIT: I had the insurance company contact the "billing" department and they said the invoice was sent to the billing dept for review. The insurance company states I have no liability because the office forgot to send in pre-authorization. Their loss not mine, " According to the providers contract advanced notification was required for the service but was not received. Therefore, the applicable administrative reimbursement reduction was applied and deducted from the provider payment. According to the providers contract the patient may not be billed for the amount of the administrative reimbursement reduction," So to reiterate, they screwed up and then are trying to screw me. 1-star now for leaving the insurance company rep on hold and not resolving it when contacted by the insurance company directly telling them they were breaking their contract." STAY AWAY if you can. EDIT: 3 calls- no resolution. supervisor will not contact me. 3 months no refund still, 3 MRI's, 2 CT Scans and now 4 doctor visits went to other places because of this money they will not give back. Telling me to go to a website to leave feedback when I am directly calling is disingenuous to the people that read reviews as there is no resolution but said to try and make your sh!tty company look better. give me back my d@mn money.

And I was very pleased with the outcome. I have access to imaging and lab services under one roof. Parking is excellent, you have the garage, valet parking or front door drop off. The support staff are well trained and respectful. Dr Allen is my physician we have mutual respect for each other and we work well together. I believe that he always has my best interest at heart at all times. I highly recommend the internal medicine department. However, always remember you play a vital role in maintaining your own healthcare.

I got a flu shot, and have shots lined up for after Turkey day, for my trip to Thailand. I also have a CT scan scheduled next week, and throughout the process, it has been smooth and effortless. I am pretty sure the outcome will be OK....but we will see. The suggestion I would make is make check out a bit more clear. There is nothing that gives direction that you have to sign in BEFORE you wait to be called to checkout. LOTS of people were asking if they were supposed to stand there, or sign in......(I had the same questions). Other than that........this place is A-OK.
