    My fiancé bought my engagement ring at a Kay Jewelers, and I needed to have it resized. I dropped…read moreit off to be serviced at my local store, with the ring guaranteed to be ready for pickup two weeks later. Not only was it past the promised date at which my ring was supposed to be ready, when I went to get it, the Kay store was inexplicably closed. There was a sign out front saying that their team was "on a break" and would be back at 3:45 (I arrived at the store just before 3:00). It was an unexpected, unpleasant surprise. It was also incredibly frustrating to go all the way there, having been told just hours earlier that my ring was ready to be picked up, only to find that the store obviously wasn't open - during the middle of the day, no less - when its posted business hours are 11:30-6:30. What I don't understand is why their staff was on break for what had to be at least an hour. I tried calling the store to see if I could explain that I was just outside and needed to pick something up, but they didn't even answer the phone. I wasn't about to stand around for 45 minutes, so I left and now I'll have to wait until next week at the earliest to get my ring back - another additional week past when it was promised to be ready for pickup. I would suggest that Kay look into this seemingly unnecessary practice in order to lessen the amount of upset customers, which is where I find myself.

When my ring arrived it was beautiful, we took it to our local Zales store to be sized. From my very first experience with the store manager Tom was a nightmare. He was rude, condescending, and less than helpful in anyway. After finally having to argue with him to get my ring taken care of, it was almost two months before I called to follow up. No one bothered to call us to let us know that my was ring was ready for pick up. Again, our experience with Tom who is the store manager was nothing short of disgusting customer service. Yesterday my daughter and I swung by the store to have my rings checked for their six months based on the diamond warranty. We had my grandchildren with so my daughter just ran into the store. Without knowing my daughter dealt with Tom as well who was rude and completely disrespectful to her. After she came out to the car I went into the store to simply take care of it myself. He was rude, disrespectful and how this man still has a job in service that demands high customer service is beyond me. I have dealt with him on three separate occasion and each time he was nothing but disgusting. This was my first and my last experience with Zales. I will not do business with a company that finds employing people with less than adequate customer service skill ok. Tom basically told me that I could take my business elsewhere. This store will not stay open with service with such as his.
