The collection was inspired by Elvis' hit single 'Blue Suede Shoes', the first song on the artist's self-titled debut record, released in 1956. Hamilton says Presley was a dedicated fan of the Ventura from its debut. The "King of Rock and Roll" famously wore the watch in the 1961 movie, Blue Hawaii. I went to TimeScape for the first time today with a couple of needs for different watches. My biggest ask was needing someone to investigate if I needed a new movement -- I brought the same watch to a different vendor at MOA a few months ago.... They told me I needed a new movement which would cost me $200 and take 2 months to get the parts and repair it.... Well, long story short, TimeScape was able to diagnose the issue in 5 minutes and all it cost me was $20 for a replacement battery! Overall, the folks at TimeScape were very friendly and obviously provided fair/honest service for my watches. I'm definitely coming back for my future watch repairs! read more

Some people say that you have nothing to fear but fear itself. Those people probably have their heads screwed on right. As for me? I'm terribly afraid of something unfortunate happening to an item that I can't repair. If one of my Seikos broke, my heart would follow. I got a gray market Seiko with some components that don't usually leave about a 3000 mile circle around Japan. When it came time to get it sized and serviced, I searched high and low for a place that would care and know as much as I did about the watch. I found this business because it's one of the few in America that sells Grand Seikos, and I figured if they knew their way around the finest watches to come out of Japan, then they were the guys to take a look at my SRP477 (not to brag or make myself a target for theft but I also have a Casio - all Nippon all the time, baby). They didn't disappoint! Even though the movement is exceedingly rare in America, they did an excellent job! While I was waiting, I had a lovely chat with a very nice employee about every watch we could fit in the conversation (they were incredibly knowledgeable!) and they even offered to let me try on some watches that cost about as much as my car. I reluctantly declined out of respect for the watch and the fear that I would achieve enlightenment and transcend the mortal plane then and there if the Grand Seiko Snowflake were to sit atop my wrist. I'll definitely be going back! Their prices are really competitive; the staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating; the inventory is the best I've seen in Minneapolis by far; and I'll be back whenever I need a fix for my crippling watch habit. read more

Craig and Zanetta know customer service better than anyone! Craig is always very welcoming, assists with explaining the issues with the watch, doesn't price gouge for services, even cleaned my watches for free due to my being a repeat customer (and 1 of the watches was pretty grimy beforehand!). He also works in a "timely" fashion to get the watch back to you asap! Craig CLEARLY knows watches and is passionate about his line of work! TimeScape is a destination for the discerning horologist. In addition to having a fantastic location and ready supply of scotch, they host top-notch events on a fairly regular basis. That said, they'll be moving out of downtown soon. I expect this will only help with business, especially on the weekends, though it is sad to think I won't be able to visit before or after work via the skyways any longer. Oh well. I do not recommend TimeScape. On my first visit, which was to have batteries replaced on several watches to the tune of $68, the person at the front desk was rude and inefficient. (She blamed her inefficiency on her computer. Classic.) I also needed a replacement leather Skagen watch band, which I told the person I would be ordering directly from Skagen.com, as TimeScape does not carry Skagen watch bands. When the watch band arrived, I (regrettably) returned to TimeScape to ask them to please attach the band to the watch face. The same person who had helped me on my first visit grumpily said that Skagen bands are notoriously difficult to work with, and that the charge would be $24. When I reminded her that I had recently spent $68 on batteries and that I would appreciate no charge for the service (which would have been free had I purchased the watch band there), she rudely resisted. Ultimately, she agreed to ask the watchman if he would attach the watch band, which he did. It took 2 minutes. When I left the store, I was happy that at least I had an attached watchband at no charge. Guess what? Three weeks later the watch band fell off the watch face! I will never ever go back to TimeScape, which in my opinion is one of the worst-run businesses I have ever encountered. read more
