Dentistry is one of the most crooked industries, in my opinion. I've had dentists try to tell me I have cavities when I have never once had a cavity. Due to my inherent distrust of dentists, I hadn't been in like, 12 years or so. I made a New Years resolution to take better care of my teeth, so six months in, I finally got around to making an appointment. Dr. Williams didn't tooth-shame me for my dental delinquency. Dr. Williams is not fancy, but he is honest and friendly. His hygienist is on the ball and efficient. It is a solo practice, with a personal touch. I appreciate that more that these dental factories that churn out unnecessary cavities and root canals. Whoever was rude in the other reviews must no longer be there, because now everyone is incredibly pleasant and easy to work with. I just came from a cleaning, and my mouth feels great! When I came to Dr Williams, it had been decades since I had last visited a dentist and I knew my teeth needed some work. When I arrived to Dr Williams office, he was kind and nonjudgemental despite the condition of my teeth. Dr. Williams posseses a gentle nature which comes through his dentistry. I always feel at ease and comfortable when I am in his chair. I've had a couple of crowns installed and several cleanings and I never felt any pain or pressure when going through a procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Williams for anyone who is leary or fearful of dentists. read more

My experience with Dr. Williams spans several months and many phone calls, but no actual visit, so caveat patient: I've never actually been seen by Dr. Williams... because I couldn't get in the damn door. I first tried to make an appointment in February. I called a few times, no answer, until I finally got a voicemail... that said the office was closed for several weeks. I figured that was understandable, if it's one-man-show kind of deal, everybody needs a break now and then. I went elsewhere for that checkup. But Dr. Williams is my assigned dentist according to my insurance plan, so I had to try again. I tried to make an appointment five times. The first four times I got busy signal type voicemails. You know, the "all lines are busy, please leave a voicemail" type messages. (I didn't want to leave a voicemail because I wanted to talk to someone, so I suppose you can fault me there.) I also figured I might be calling at their lunch hour or something. But the fifth try (in the same day, and spaced out at all times of the day, mind you) reached a new voicemail, one that said they'd be out of the office for the next week. WHAT. No thanks. Trying to make an appointment is not supposed to be as torturous as having your teeth worked on. jeesh. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Williams for a little over a year and I cannot imagine having a better dentist. Not only does Dr. Williams perform every cleaning himself, but he's also great about never pushing unneeded procedures. Everyone in the office is warm and friendly--Angela and Brandy never seem to forget my name and always remember little details about me and my family. Scheduling is flexible, and the appointments are efficient and hassle-free. Dr. Williams is the perfect combination of everything I look for in a dentist--professional, affordable, and personable. One of the most painful dentist experiences I've ever had, and I have a high tolerance for pain. It was only a cleaning but they made me feel like I was getting a tooth extraction. (I floss regularly so this should not have been so painful). His new hygienist literally let blood roll over my whole face and seemed really uncomfortable handling the water-sprayer and suction device. Once it was over, there were blood specks left over all in my mouth and they didn't even have disposable tooth brushes. Will not go back. read more

Dr. Williams is great. He is patient and trustworthy. He won't try to pressure you into unnecessary procedures like other places I've been too. He is the only dentist I take my family to now. read more

I just received an attitude-filled phone call from Dr. Williams office telling me I had missed an appointment today at 1:30. Being absolutely positive I did not set up another appointment with Dr. Williams (see my review from June 3rd), I asked if there could possibly be some sort of mistake or crossed wires. The woman on the phone (who was not Angela- the lone pleasant person from my last visit) spoke to me as if I suggested that perhaps they should convert the practice to a hula-hoop voodoo saloon. I don't know what Williams thing is for hiring rude staff, but it is seriously beyond me how they stay in business. read more

I am a bit phobic about dentists but have found Dr Williams to be very reassuring and nonjudgmental. He has done several sessions with me, from a cleaning to repairing a chipped tooth. He was also was very upfront on another visit when he recommended an orthodontist when the work was outside his scope. You will be very happy with the service and quality here. read more

Dr. Williams has been my and my daughters dentist for almost 15 years. I love the fact the he is a solo practice and does everything himself...including cleaning your teeth! The assistants are just that, assistants. He is warm, friendly and most importantly gentle. His staff, Angela and Brandie, are awesome as well. We've had twice yearly cleanings as well as two crowns for me and never had any issues or complaints. He takes a genuine interest in his patients well being as he called and checked on my daughter many times during her chemo and surgery during her fight with cancer. It's nice to have a dentist that I don't dread having to see. read more

When I called to make an appointment, they took my name and said they would call me back. They never did. I called them to follow-up and received a not-so-friendly response. I still didn't have an appointment so I called back and left a VM. I called back for a 4th time and left another VM. I still haven't heard back. I've been trying to get in for a month. I finally got approval to switch denists through my DHMO plan. I obviously can't rate about the 'overall expeirence' because I have never set foot inside the office but I've never had to beg a doctor to give them my money. How pathetic. read more

After going to Dr. Williams for a few years I changed to a new dentist - and at my first new appointment several cavities were found. My new dentist asked me in disbelief if I really had been going for check-ups every 6 months - I had. It was clear that Dr. Williams should have caught these cavities before they progressed to this point - now I need to spend nearly a thousand dollars to get my healthy teeth back. read more

I just had the absolute worst doctors office experience of my life. The receptionist is beyond rude. When I questioned something about my insurance and asked her to call them, she suddenly developed an attitude. I finally found out that they do a procedure that my insurance does not cover so I requested not to do the procedure. She told me it was not an option and that they would refuse to see me if I did not consent. I stated that if my insurance does not think it is important enough to cover that I didn't feel it was right that I be forced to have it done. In the end, I paid for it, but stated my disaggreement. She then proceed to go tattle tell on my - yes, that is really what it was, to the dentist. So - he refused to see me because I didn't agree with their policy, even though I did consent and had already paid. He didn't even have the decency to talk to me about it. He just refused. I do not agree that a patient should be forced to have something done that they disagree with. It seems a bit unethical that their practice functions in this way. Oh - and they charge you for the sterilization of their instruments - who does that? If I could give them a negative 5 stars - I would. read more

Worst experience I have ever had with a Dentist! And I never even had a chance to sit in the chair or walk through the business doors. I called these guys to set up 5 first time appointments for my four kids and myself with Alan Williams DDS. When I called their office to set the appointments, they informed me that there was a "D4999 Periodontal Probing Charge" that I would be responsible for since I am over 16 and a new patient. I told them I was under the impression that my Assurant Dental Coverage paid for all charges for initial visits and cleanings and if they didn't cover this particular charge, I would elect to waive that service if it is optional or have it during my next appointment because I was only going in for the initial appointment because I needed to see about a filling that was giving me trouble. I told them that I was going to call my HR department or Assurant to check to see if my coverage could pay for the charge. No problem. Well, the day of my appointment (5/20/13), they called one hour before to cancel my appointment because of an emergency. Damn! That sucks. I have already taken off work and will have to take off work again. So, I called them for two days leaving messages to reschedule my appointment. Well, this morning they leave me a voice message saying they have written a letter to Assurant requesting that Dr. Alan Williams be removed as the dental provider for my family and AND that they don't plan on rescheduling my appointment AND they have cancelled my kids appointments on June 10th and 11th. Are you kidding me?! So, I called their office back immediately after listening to the voicemail to figure out what the problem was. The office manager said they did not want to start off this relationship with me and my family since I was questioning the "D4999 Periodontal Probing Charge". They just wanted me to call Assurant and get a different dentist. I asked them if it was normal business practice for them to automatically contact insurance carriers and drop customers from their list of clients. No answer. After I calmed down, I realized that they did me a favor. If this is how they treat new customers, I would definitely hate to get into bed with these guys and have a relationship with them. I am smart consumer, if I see a charge that does not seem right I question it. I never said to cancel my family's appointments or that I would not pay for the charge. They didn't realize that I am the buyer who actually handles our health benefits for our company with 5500 potential customers for account. Two thumbs down. read more

I was a fan, but I moved and have a new dentist who has found a lot of decay that Dr. Williams did not.

A fellow co-worker recommended Dr. Williams to me 2 years ago, and I've been going to this office ever since. The staff is friendly and Dr. Williams is seriously one of the most gentle human beings I've ever experienced in a dental or medical office setting. So polite and professional! Also, they're very prompt. Compared to my experiences with other medical appointments I have, I've always been seen at the exact time of my appointment - no delays. read more

Dr. Williams has been my dentist for about a year and a half now, and I have been very pleased with his services. Unlike some of the chain dental offices around town I haven't felt like I am being pressured into procedures that are not necessary just to make a buck.
