I confirmed both the 12 pm messages. I call they say it's at 11 am. Then cancel after i call

sooo disappointed. Never once been to a dentist office so unorganized. How is it i get calls and messages throughout the week reminding me that my dentist appointment is at 12:00 pm and 11:00 pm for just one person?!?!?!? i call 2 hours ahead to ask why is that? The person on the phone says " no we asked you to confirm 11:00 am and you said yes" which is literally a lie unless somehow she texted the wrong number that's not what i see. Finally she says she'll get back with me to see if the doctor is available FOR MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT?!?! ‍ Calls back 30 minutes later..... "oh well she still in surgery and is behind" I don't even get a word out, and she says " When can we reschedule" This is actually unbelievable to me. it's a tuesday and during work hours..... I believe since i called out a mistake on their end they didn't want to see me today.

The amounts I've paid, along with insurance differences and the one refund. $958.80 left for her to refund for all the pain I have been in.

This dentist makes mistakes. Enough to warrant new work from another dentist and enough for Dr.Johnson to provide me a partial refund. Now I am not a saint by any means. I hadn't been to the dentist in ages(3-4yrs). I came to Wellness Dental by word of mouth. Saturday and Evening appointments are appealing. You don't find these hours with many dentists. THERES YOUR ONE STAR. Wellness Dental lost the other 4 STARS. With the following. I had a full mouth deep cleaning, whitening, and a few fillings by my request or due to cavities. Either way bad work all around. I am still pleading she refund me for the entirety of the work. I was in pain for MONTHS until I decided I needed to see a new dentist. The cleaning was first, then fillings and a CROWN. Please review the work she did vs the work my new dentist did. Now for the CROWN. When I went to her I rarely experienced sensitivity on #3. Like every once in a while something felt funny with this one. She proceeded to Crown this molar. The crown was bulky as can be, see the pictures and uncomfortable. I guess they didn't teach her how to adjust a bite. Always wrong but this crown hurt. She placed the crown while I wasn't numb to help the bite, OUCH. I went back a few times due to the pain I was experiencing, she continuously brushed this off to how close this cavity was to my nerve which yes I see, we can all see on the pictures, but this was unbearable. The office's solution was for me to continue returning. Well, after having this crown since May I decided to go to a new dentist this week and what do you know, the crown has a large gap in the back probably #1 reason for my pain all these months. Well I had to get a new crown and what do you know, three days later my sensitivity is gone. Now I spent $1838.30 in all the work upfront with two checks for differences with insurance for $328 total and she Refunded the crown $551.50. There's a remaining $958.80 that she should refund for the countless times I returned; the amount of pain I have been in since MAY! That she simply couldn't resolve. And now I still have to get another crown on #15 because she made the wrong call with the filling. The fillings she performed constantly left my bite feeling wrong. I requested a filling on my front teeth because of some discoloration, she left the room all while she DIDNT FILL THE BACK OF THE TOOTH. There was a hole behind my teeth. She didn't believe it, put a small amount of filling on it and realized it was all now in the hole, she proceeded to correct this. I had a cavity on a back molar that according to her needed a filling, the filling is right between two molars, #14-15. She proceeded to perform this filling, the bite needed several corrections, I went back quite a few times. It felt like there was a gap, then like something was jammed and I couldn't floss. The final fix from her on this was to jam something like sandpaper through it so I could floss, but the pain remained. Compare this pain to #3 and this is a walk in the park. IF YOUD LIKE TO BE IN PAIN BY ALL MEANS GO HERE. You'll be in pain you'd never imagine and a bite that'd make you never want to chew again.

Little travel bag with every cleaning. Comes with a tooth brush, floss, and toothpaste. Love it!

No business is perfect, but when you have a cancerous culture that does not cherish the client relationship it shows. This is an example of just that, at least the front of house. The reality is the actual work of dentistry is fine in this establishment. It's the admin, front desk, customer service, lack of availability, and difficulty of being a client that leaves a lot to be had. Not to mention when or if you fire them how difficult they will be when it comes to moving your dental records to your next dentist. It was very frustrating to be a patient at times given that this is the way they choose to do business. My wife and I were patients since we moved to Austin in 2017. The quality of the dental work is fine. The front of office is a 1 out of 10 at its worst and a 5 out of 10 on average. I am sure the practice will have some response that will paint us as unreasonable clients, but here are my key issues: 1. If your teen has an appointment (simple cleaning) , they will not see them unless the parent is present, we had an issue where my wife was single parenting for the week while I was on a business trip and found out after she had dropped my son off for his appointment and took my other son to school that this was their policy. Fair enough, except for the fact that by the time my wife got back, 15 minutes late, they canceled his appointment, for a policy they enforced and communicated after the fact. The biggest issue was not the policy, but how the staff treated my wife through this situation, and the fact that when my wife alerted the dentist to the incident she sided with her staff and never got back to my wife regarding the incident. Not acceptable for any business owner. 2. My dentist (Dr Heggen) only works 2 days a week, so if you have any near term issues, IE major tooth pain, you may have to wait weeks , like 4 or 5 to get in to see the dentist, not great if you can't chew or have major tooth pain. In my situation, I had a filling put in in March by my dentist that was hurting for months that they tried to adjust and was still off, and I had major issues as the pain increased. I tried to schedule to have it looked at given they had done the work, however had major issues getting in to see my dentist given the lack of availability, regardless of the fact that I could only chew in one side of my mouth. Not great. 3. When you leave they will refuse to send your actual digital records to your new dentist , isn't it 2024????? This will cause your next dentist to either have them sent via snail mail or you will have to physically pick them up yourself. Also they will not release records to your new dentist, just to you. It's completely ridiculous. Also new dentist will have to more than likely do an entire set of new XRays since paper XRays are not as clear as the digital real ones. This was absurd, but not off brand for the behavior we experienced which caused us to leave. 4. Lastly, even after being a patient for 7 years they mispronounced my wife's name. A small issue but again consistently on brand for why this place is not great. A side note I went to my new dentist and had the opposite experience with front of house. Friendly, proactive, super nice, went out of their way to make things easy. Reminded me what really good service and a great client experience is supposed to be.

After more than 10 years with this practice, I'm incredibly disappointed to be writing this…read more I'm autistic, and like many neurodivergent people, I struggle with scheduling and making it to appointments. I want to be clear: I am already deeply aware of this, and I feel embarrassed and awful when it happens. Nothing feels worse than standing at the garage door with my keys in hand, frozen, shaking, overwhelmed, and filled with guilt. This isn't carelessness or laziness, it's something I actively work to manage. I also understand that missed appointments affect a business, and I am willing to accept financial penalties when appropriate. I appreciate that Pecan Park Dental has waived some missed appointment fees for me in the past. However, my most recent experience felt shaming and dismissive of my disability, and I left in tears. The morning of a scheduled appointment, I was called and told my insurance would not cover the visit because I had hit my maximum. I was told I would need to pay $540 out of pocket for a routine cleaning. I could not afford that and chose to reschedule for a future date when my insurance would cover it. At that time, I was told I would still be charged a $100 late cancellation fee, even though this cost was only communicated to me the morning of the appointment. When I returned months later for the rescheduled visit, I tried to explain that this situation resulted from an insurance and communication issue. Instead of working with me, I was repeatedly pressured in the waiting room to pay the $100 fee. I explained multiple times that I did not have the money that day. I was asked for credit card information over and over, in front of my daughter and other patients. It was humiliating. I ended up crying in the office while still being asked for payment. When I later tried to explain the situation, I was sent a chart of my missed appointments. It felt less like an attempt to understand and more like an effort to reinforce guilt. That approach isn't helpful, it adds to the shame and makes it even harder to access care. Experiences like this are exactly why many neurodivergent people avoid healthcare altogether. It becomes easier to avoid appointments than to face anxiety, shame, and financial penalties. I don't believe this is about bad intent, but it reflects a system that prioritizes policies and revenue over patient-centered care and basic compassion. After more than a decade as a loyal patient, and bringing multiple family members to this practice, I expected more understanding and professionalism. Because of this experience, I will be moving my care, along with my family's care, to a different provider. I hope this practice reflects on how it communicates with and supports patients, especially those with anxiety, autism, or other neurodivergent needs. No patient should be made to feel this way while seeking care
