Since moving to the area I knew I needed to find a new dentist and what better place than Husker…read moreDental which is just a short drive away. We were also recommended by our neighbors so I decided to check it out. They also happened to take my current insurance so that made the decision pretty easy. I've gone a few times now for my biannual cleanings and a crown. I appreciate the friendliness of the staff and the communication from Tina who works their front desk and coordinates their appointments. I didn't know what to expect changing dentists but my experience has certainly been different from my previous Dentist. I've noticed that after each appointment I am asked if I want to get a fluoride treatment, since it isn't covered by my insurance they say each time. Each time I've declined then I'm reminded why it's recommended. I understand why they may feel it is important to have that treatment but isn't something I'd like to do. I also found it interesting that they take my blood pressure for a dental appointment, a new experience for me as well. Lately, I've been on the fence about going back to them. I found I feel a little uncomfortable at my appointments and am not quite sure how to describe it. My dental cleanings seem fine enough but my crown appointment I felt myself wishing I had gone somewhere else. Mainly because the temporary crown wasn't secured enough and popped out even when being careful. I should have said something at that appointment that I felt like there wasn't enough glue but I trusted that they did have enough to secure it for the couple weeks needed. I went back so they can secure it and they said I could have purchased something OTC to adhere it until my next appointment. Since then the crown has been okay, sometimes I'm unsure if it's secure but it hasn't come out so that's promising. I certainly think Husker Dental has great staff and the Doctor is a great doctor but I'm wondering if they just aren't a great fit for me specifically and what I seek in care. I may be looking elsewhere to find a Dentist that meats more of my holistic, natural care paired with Western care to provide the kind of Dental care I'm looking for.

I recently had a situation where I had an absessed tooth and ultimately had to have it pulled. I now have a bridge that literally looks like a work of art. I can't tell that the "pontic" is not my natural tooth - they matched my tooth color, got everything ready for the final install and it really, really turned out great! The front desk staff are also licensed dental assistants - something I didn't know until just recently and they are very helpful and truly DO care. When I was in distress upon finding I couldn't save the tooth, they gave me some great information on bridges and implants and took the time to go over both options. During the processes of getting the tooth pulled, to the preparation for the bridge itself, and the final installation, they were right there to guide me every step of the way through it, and it they made very sure I was comfortable with my choice. The only real thing I had to overcome was the Novocaine shots during the process, but once I was able to get past those, it really and truly turned out well. Thank you to Dr. C and the staff of Bluffs Family Dentistry! I truly appreciate you folks!!!

We are looking for a new dentist after being with our dentist for a decade. And , beware, their estimates are way low. We thought they were getting the estimate through the insurance company but they aren't. We dont know where the estmate comes from but they estimated $750 for a procedure we had to pay $1,000 for after insurance paid their portion. Run away.

Recently Dr. Havelka moved to a new dental office, New Image Dentistry. I went for my regular cleaning yesterday and let's just say it was the worst dental experience I have ever encountered. From the time I sat down in the chair until the dentist arrived was horrible. Caslyn the hygienist was rough, caused pain and soreness, was sloppy with the water hose, dismissive and very unfriendly. I was on the verge of tears when I left the office and informed the front desk staff to NOT ever have her work on me again. In all the years I have been seeing a dentist I have never once had such a traumatic experience. Caslyn's lack of patience, empathy and plain caring was enough to question if I should find a new dentist. I love Dr. Havelka and will stay with him, however if future visits are anything like this one, I'll be shopping for a new dental office. I am still sore the day after the terrible experience with the hygienist Caslyn.
