I started my braces journey with S4TDC and for some reason there was a tooth that they could not get to rotate the way it needed to so I came to Elite Orthodontics to continue my treatment. After being examined by the doctor she determined that everything looked good and I just really needed to give it some more time for the metal to do its magic. Turns out she was right and eventually that tooth moved and my smile was fixed. Unfortunately I made the mistake (like many others do) of not wearing my retainers about two years later I came back to Dr. Nguyen for braces once again. Braces suck, I think we all know this.. however I am thankful and happy to have came back because Dr. Nguyen actually made my smile even better than before and shaped them exactly the way I wanted. Dr. Nguyen and her staff work very fast so don't be surprised if you're in and out like a Chick-Fil-A drive thru. They're efficient and straight to the point. They're also very flexible with appts. I travel a lot for work and at the time I was back and forth between Houston and NYC, majority's of the time they were able to squeeze me in with a short notice. If I could rate a -1 I would…read more During my visit, I was made to feel ashamed and was even called "lazy" simply because I admitted that I don't floss every single day. I understand the importance of good dental hygiene, but I don't believe patients should be spoken to or made to feel embarrassed in that way. I was also extremely disappointed with how my insurance and benefits were handled. I was told that my insurance did not cover my cleaning, X-rays, and other services. However, when I went to a different dental office, I was informed that my insurance did, in fact, cover these services. What concerned me even more was what happened with my husband's health benefits card. Once they found out he had available benefits, we were told they could "find more stuff" to use up his benefits. That interaction made us very uncomfortable and gave us the impression that the focus was more on maximizing his benefits than providing necessary dental care. After this experience, we will not be returning. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion and verifying your insurance coverage independently before agreeing to services here.

I called ahead to make an appointment and asked if they accepted my dental insurance. They told me they did, even though they are a private practice. I received a basic cleaning, X-rays, and a comprehensive oral evaluation--just like at any other dental office. However, when I finished, I was charged $272.90 with insurance. In my experience, these services have always been 100% covered, even out of network. I was never informed of the cost before being taken into the room and having the cleaning done. When I questioned this, they told me it was my responsibility to ask about pricing and that they were not obligated to inform me beforehand. I took it as a lesson learned for not asking in advance, since I had never had to pay for a basic cleaning before. About a month later, I received another bill for an additional $155.40. I called regarding these new charges, and the person who answered said she would escalate it to the manager. Two months later, I was sent yet another charge--this time $20 for a "processing fee." Their reasoning was that I did not respond to their attempts to contact me, even though I had been the one consistently calling them about the bill. The front office staff refuses to take any responsibility or accountability. They deny everything and shift the blame back onto the patient. At this point, I feel like I'm being scammed. Don't rely on the Google reviews--they appear to delete negative feedback. Most of the photos also seem to be posted by the business owner rather than real patients. While the front of the office looks nice, the interior appears old and run-down. Claims of having "modern technology" are misleading--either posted by friends or by people who haven't experienced truly up-to-date dental offices. This place seems focused solely on money, with questionable billing practices and unethical behavior. I was charged over $400 for a basic cleaning and X-rays--services that are performed elsewhere for far less, with no difference in quality. Be cautious of their friendly demeanor--behind those smiles are tactics that, in my opinion, exploit patients.
