Finally I found Steve! I brought my 120 pounds of tax returns and business files to Steve's Shredding. Steve helped me bring them in from my car. I watched and chatted with Steve as he shredded them. In about 20 minutes it was all done, his price was very reasonable, and I wished I had more to shred so I could talk with him longer. I live an hour drive from Steve's place, so I scheduled another appointment in Portland the same day to make the trip worth it. No need for that, Steve is worth a special trip any time. Surprise Bonus: There's a dog training and boarding company in the same building. I got to meet that business owner and pet a couple of doggies. What a great day!

If he's not, he's usually able to meet you within a reasonable amount of time. I have called Phil on weekends at the last minute to ask if I can bring my shredding in. He's always helpful in working with you so that you could drop off your shredding. The first couple of times I drove to Salem Shred I ended up driving around and around looking for the business. Salem Shred has an address of Lancaster Drive but the warehouse type building is located behind the Blue Willow restaurant on Lancaster Drive. If I need any shredding done in the future, I would definitely call Phil.

I appreciated the friendly customer service I received each time I called them. They walked me through all of the services / options they offered (including on-site and off-site shredding) and helped me figure out what would work best for me. They even worked with me when I realized that my company had approximately twice the amount of boxes we originally thought we needed to dispose of. Everybody I called from Shred Northwest was super friendly. I really appreciated how each customer representative took the time to answer all of my questions regarding different shredding options, pricing, and the shredding process. This was my first time using any shredding company, and I had called several other companies in Portland to request quotes. Some of the other companies weren't that friendly or helpful, and others were much smaller operations that functioned out of a person's home (which didn't feel as secure to me). I definitely liked how Shred Northwest had the capacity to load 120 boxes into their truck and shred all of it at a secure location. I would definitely recommend using Shred Northwest for your shredding needs, especially if you have a larger project. Wow what a relief!…read more We were replacing our old washer and dryer and they had been sitting in our garage. I googled appliance recyclers nearby and SBC came up. I made an online appointment for them to come pick up my washer and dryer and 3 hours later their truck was at my door. The worker was very professional and he took away my washer and dryer for only $30!!! Best $30 I ever spent. I will be recommending this company to any friends or neighbors in need of appliance removal.

They are screwing over their customers!…read more We've been box holders there since the business opened in 2014 and today we got notice that the business will close the doors "for good on December 20, 2025.  It is not even possible to change your address in less than 30 days, magazine subscriptions (yes, we still have those) require 60 days.  If you ship something here you will NOT be able to count on them to track it or deal with claims! When I inquired about what would happen to the mail, I was told by Zaid Santiago, one of the owners and the person usually on site, that the mail would be returned to sender.  So, that screws us for Christmas deliveries and such - I have no doubt that all of our deliveries after mid-December will be lost. Finally, I asked Mr. Santiago what happens to the annual box fee we paid through July 31, 2026, and he robotically quoted "paragraph 10 of our contract" and informed me that there will be no refund. Rip Off City!

They said they could do part of the order for me but despite it being posted online they were open until 8pm, they were closing at 7pm. There was no way to make it in time. This is not the first time their print center fell well below expectations but I risked using them again because they are closer than other options. NEVER AGAIN! I wish I could give negative stars. Absolutely terrible.
