Heidi Thomas MD is by far the most caring, patient and thorough physician I've ever had. She's been with me through thick and thin and always has an encouraging word or hug for me. Yes, the office staff has seen some turnover and has made mistakes, but I see a definite turn around in how things are being handled. My appointment with Dr.Taxman was incredibly disappointing. I had a panic attack at the beginning of the appointment, when I recovered I looked up and his head was tilted down and eyes looking up glaring at me... he looked angry? We just sat there and stared at eachother for maybe 60 seconds until I broke off the stare off. It was scary, bizarre, and cruel. Nothing warrants that response from a doctor. I asked about my issues, I have year round allergies I asked about and he shrugged and mentioned one drug, that was it. We went over two prescriptions I have, he said wow that's a high dosage when referring to my antidepressant, he did not elaborate. There was a knot on my throat he said he would be willing to see through till the end-- I'm OK, I'll go to another doctor. It's clear he didn't want me in the appointment and he had an attitude the majority of the time. He rolled his eyes twice while I was talking. I read glowing reviews from other patients who he's helped with similar issues before booking. There were STILL several other issues. I overestimated his abilities as a professional and as a doctor. Taxman has weak character and questionable moral compass if this is how he treats people/patients. People get away with things because they rely on others being quiet about it and I won't be silenced. Here are some more details I initially left out of the above review because Taxman seemed confused. While I was having a panic attack he held up his wedding ring hand in front of him and waved his hand around showcasing his ring-- I'm not sure why he thought that was appropriate? What does his relationship status have to do with my appointment? Is this standard for all his appointments? He seemed confused, I told him while in the middle of a panic attack I'm not here to date you??? I'll continue to repost this until the end of time, no patient should have to deal with this and then pay $800/hour Imagine asking a doctor for help and the above happens. Well Life denied me access to healthcare and created issues accessing my medication because I reported Taxman to Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine. Annie kept trying to get me to talk to her on the phone instead of EMAIL. We had been emailing for months at this point. She lied about there being a glitch in Athena and needing to cancel my appointment. She lied about a required transfer of care phone call, she put a hold on my account until I talked to her over the phone. She was extorting me for more information via TELEPHONE ONLY which is undocumented before I received healthcare. This place is so gross, Taxman is gross, Annie and Aubrey are gross, the facilities are also musty and gross. The paper liner on the patient seating was dirty with spots on it when I went in for my labs and also when I went in for my appointment in a different room on a different day. How many other patients have had similar issues here and they couldn't defend themselves. Try giving patients kindness and dignity, get some ethics training as an organization. He is very thorough in his assessments and excellent in follow-up. He will try to find a remedy to every medical issue I have and so far he's good at it. Coming from someone who is dependent on medical care, this process was disgusting and offensive. I had done a couple days research on VIDA Integrative Medicine which claims to be "Western Medicine with an Open Mind". I then filled out an application and Dr. Evelin Dacker declined providing me medical care (even though she is accepting new patients), because of my medical history (I suffer from chronic pain). You would think that her philosophy is a perfect fit for someone in chronic pain, right? Wrong. Must be nice to choose your patients and have a 100% success rate with their health.
