This past week I had my 1st appointment with Dr. Daniels. He was pleasant to start but his mood quickly changed when I began discussing my recent labs for my new Naturopathic Physician; she treats my thyroid disorder. Dr. Daniels was visibly and verbally expressive in his disdain for Naturopathic Medicine and quickly shut the conversation down by stating he would let her deal with that and he with deal with my hypertension. He spoke of his 25 years in medicine and stopped short of calling NP's quacks. I thanked him for his candor and left it alone. Unfortunately, I do not believe it is in my best interest to work with a doctor who is incapable of putting his personal bias aside for my best interest. It's not enough to have a medical degree and 25 years experience if you can't recognize the client should be first before your feelings. It is after all a NP who 'discovered' my thyroid disorder, not the family practice doc, or the internist, nor the gynecologist...all focused on medicating symptoms rather than finding a solution. Disappointing. read more
