Worst medical care I have EVER received in my lifetime. Sprained my ankle while out of town Of the clinics in the area my Insurance would only cover a limited few. I went with Salem clinic even though it was over a 30min drive away because I though a bigger town/city was better than a smaller clinic. I WAS SO WRONG. From checkin to the time I left, my experience was terrible. 20-30min to check me in because they were training someone; I'm standing up on a throbbing foot in pain. I wait my turn, a nurse checks me in then the Dr. arrives. She's in and out of the room in less than 10mins. She asks me why I'm there. I tell her I fell down some stairs. She pokes at my foot a couple times says she's going to take an X-ray of my ankle only. I told her I have pain on the top of my foot, she disregards. I tell her I've sprained it before, it took 8 weeks to heal and had to get a cortisone injection and now I'm a flight attendant and I'm concerned about the pressure changes and wearing heels. I asked how long I need to be off work. The Dr asks me how long I think I need?! Last I checked the Dr is the person I come to to get medical advice. Eventually we negotiated that I should be off for a week. I ask if I needed a boot, her response was "we have boots" but no recommendations if I need one or crutches. I'm confused and appalled and forgot to ask any other questions because I feel like I'm not getting any medical advice from this person. She leave without telling me about after care or pain management and said she'd email my discharge instructions. A nurse came in so I asked her about pain meds she gave me some generic response and sent me to get an X-ray. I tell the X-ray tech about my terrible experience and she apologizes. By the time I'm done with X-ray I'm not comfortable with my exam and ask to be seen by a different Dr. I'm told to wait because there is another clinician there. A but later I'm I'm told I can't see that Dr because their policy is one exam a day and that I can come back the next day. I told them I'm not from there, I'm not close-by and I don't want to come back. I just want a second opinion by someone while I'm here because I don't think the other Dr was thorough, she barely did anything and gave me no medical advice. I told them I shouldn't have to pay for medical care I didn't receive and have no problem paying for my X-ray but the "appointment" wasn't an appointment it was me telling a Dr what my treatment should be. I left without a second opinion, no discharge instructions and a two sentence dr's note. They told me to call some lady in patient relations. I called and left a message requesting an exam fee waiver explaining my experience. We played phone tag for a couple months because she never answers her phone. I called the clinic again because I never received discharge instructions they tell me it's the apps problem n theirs. Never got my discharge instructions and no follow up care call. I spoke to patient relations lady, she tells me the medical director viewed the notes and they look fine so I have to pay. I told her I never even got discharge instructions and explained what happened and asked to speak to a supervisor or the medical director. She gave me some other lady's number. I left a message with her but she never bothered to call back and a couple weeks later sent me this generic letter. Don't go here they don't practice medicine, they're just in it for the money.

For regular care, the Salem Clinic is ok. For Maternity care - DO NOT GO TO THE SALEM CLINIC. If I ever have another child it will not be with the Salem Clinic. I've been insulted multiple times by the medical professionals, their bedside manner leaves much to be desired, Ive gotten multiple mixed messages about my health while pregnant and in some instances even been given complete opposite information (I will reschedule or refuse an appointment before I ever see Mori J. Montagne, NP again). One of the medical professionals taking my blood made comment after comment about how big I was and asked multiple ways if I was "giving up," being induced or asking for a c section because I was so huge. Ive needed to send paperwork to the clinic and they refused to give me alternate ways to get them paperwork. I asked for a fax number and I had to ask multiple times before they reluctantly gave it up. I also asked for an email and they told me to send screenshot via MyChart. I pointed out that sending a picture would not be sufficient but they didn't listen to me. I can't wait to have this miserable process over with.

She asks about my medical health, listens carefully and thoughtfully to my answers and responds kindly and intelligently. She never has a superior, "I am the Doctor" overbearing attitude. The parking lot has lots of good free parking. The office is spotlessly clean and very well managed. The waiting room is beautiful with a gorgeous glass done. Barry, the phlebotomist, is also wonderful. I never even feel the needle for the blood draw! I don't know how he does it. He is kind, charming and easy to chat with. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Harmon and her staff.

I…read moreonly had the pap at PCP because I'm new to Oregon and finding any care has been difficult. My initial appointment was ok. This must be how she sucks you in. I scheduled follow up for incontinence concerns (prior surgery and experience with this). Also depression/anxiety. I know my body and what I need to have done. Harmon mocked me for needing extra clothes at school like the kids because what I should do is the machine upstairs that fixes all that. She called me dumb for taking a SNRI for years and being pleased with it because that affects libido and everything should be about your libido. She is completely sex crazed and that's all that matters to her is if you're having great sex. She refused to treat my mental health with a prescription that I had been taking successfully for decades. She made me feel really insecure and terrible about myself but this was the only office I could even get in to for some legitimate health issues. I was pressured hard into some procedures that have left me completely numb so my libido went from low to gone. She did this by chiding and making fun. Other things too were pushed hard over insurance-covered things especially the pellet therapy. It was basically gaslighting and abuse that it's taken me a long time to realize. She never addressed my actual concerns. She screwed my hormones up so bad it has taken over a year to recover to a place where a thoughtful doctor can start over. Dr Harmon is preying on women and making a fortune with her trickery and scams. Avoid. I'd give zero stars if it allowed.

If you call to reschedule an appointment they won't do it, they'll tell you they'll call you back and then wait a few days to do it. Their policy is also to not refill prescriptions unless you have an appointment first. So they only refill prescriptions during appointments, which is dangerous and inconvenient and I can only think that it's a cash grab. They will not refill your prescription over the phone and they won't let the pharmacy do it. Imagine being disabled and not having a ride or the time for an appointment before your medication runs out. Horrible place.

FNP Cunningham is pretty great. Very nice lady, there was another FNP who I saw and was also very nice. But they can't 'fix' it 'treat' anything. Everything gets referred out. The office staff has a notable turn over rate. (Happy staff usually stay at good jobs). They have always been extremely difficult in assisting patients. Since covid they've really gone down the tubes. It's ok that the office is outdated, I'm fine with that, but there's no real care given to anyone. Maybe they're good for people with chronic conditions or major ongoing issues, they weren't a good fit for me. Very aggravating indeed. I'd recommend going to a more organized clinic. Update!!! Today I called to speak to office manager Anna. I wanted to hear a confirmation my order was sent to the lab clinic, she had another agenda! The dear woman proceeded to scold me like a bad little girl letting me know the office is dismissing me of service. Oh honey, that's so cute you thought I was still a patient of primary care west. I tried my best not to giggle at her silliness over the phone. Just quit lying to me and do your job! Send over my surgeon order to the lab! It's simple as that, but 2 weeks of being jerked around the office staff I had it with them! Again, the NP's & I remember 1 MA that was cool, other than that - nope! Totally recommend elsewhere

But aside from the more superficial aspects of this place you'll find pleasant, patient and hard working hospital staff. The nurses and doctors are the same across the board, on the ball about appointments and providing adequate care. If you can believe it, I've gone to an appointment only to find my doctor flaked. Its clear that they're ready to face challenges with those of us that are heading into battle against cancer. Or perhaps it's just regular screening (keep that up by the way). They also CLEARLY are very active in spreading awareness. In one of the waiting rooms (I'll get more pictures) there are years worth of framed memorabilia from functions meant to raise money and awareness. Love it! The set up here is fantastic regarding being able to get around. Ever had to walk up long gloomy corridors (literally up as in an incline) after a surgery? BLEH! Not here!! The elevators are conveniently placed and seating is ample. Since we're talking about getting around, I should mention that I took the stairs up To the appointment and down after. OMG I had no idea how badly I need a stair machine or bike until today. My legs were on fire!! Lol anyways, whether you take an elevator down or use the stairs, eventually you'll make your way past the friendly men and women at the front desk, the yummy bistro and out to the pickup and drop-off area. The roundabout thing in the front is much bigger than say, legacy Immanuel...which is nice for those helpers picking up and dropping of loved ones. The parking area is very close too. If you're like me, you'd take a bench outdoors over indoor seating any day and we're in luck, long benches outside. Good luck and syoy!!
