Great place for a drink, dinner or both!…read more I finally was able to get to this place for dinner. I went there with colleagues. It was packed so we grabbed drinks while waiting for a table. I had an amazing duck plate while the others shared a lamb dish (they seem to have these big share dishes where you need to have multiple people order). The dishes were wonderfully tasty and well proportioned. We finished off sharing a flourless chocolate cake. Again really worth the calories. I will definitely be visiting here again the next time I'm in London.

They had a wide range of salads, cheeses, and meats on the starters table alongside smoked salmon and other goodies. The desserts were a little limited to be honest - nothing really stood out to me as excellent but there were definitely a couple tasty bites. There was also candy in the lobby which was a cute touch. The mains were good but not the highlight of brunch to me. I didn't love how they brought out all three - the vegetarian one was meh to me so I would have preferred to skip it. My glass was never empty throughout brunch, service was extremely attentive and everyone was super nice. Not sure id rush back but I'm glad I went!

We shared several dishes and each struck us with how the flavors blended in beautifully unique ways. We sat outside and were surprised at what a tranquil oasis that seating area was, despite being steps away from the busy road. When we arrived, it seemed like reservations were expected, and they did have some available, but they kindly seated us anyway. We chose the tasting menu since it featured a variety of farm-fresh dishes. My husband added the wine pairing. We started with a mushroom marmite éclair, which was better than I expected, followed by buttery Queenie scallops, a cheese course, chorizo, and beef bavette. Dessert was chocolate mousse, but I asked to switch to pie, and they were happy to accommodate. The ambiance felt like a cozy English countryside diner. I loved the details about the farm and the little pamphlet about where the food came from. Every dish was so thoughtful. This place is a hidden gem. We would absolutely come back to try the tasting menu again when it changes. Also, the crispy potatoes were incredible.

We started with a fresh duck salad which was a well-presented starter which was full of flavour. For the main course, I ordered the fillet steak medium rare but it arrived medium. The staff handled this very professionally and sent it back without any fuss. They also discounted the steak on the bill, which was a very nice gesture and much appreciated. For dessert, the honey bee cheese the flavours were great, but the cheesecake wasn't fully set and was a bit melted. It still tasted good, but the texture could have been better. Aside from those small issues, the food presentation was excellent and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The service recovery was handled really well, which makes a big difference. It's not right, but it's okay, I'm gonna eat here anyway…read more Paraphrasing the late Whitney Houston is the best way I can describe this dining experience. Maybe that's too harsh, I had a great meal here with some dear friends. The food was good, but my goodness you couldn't get a drink or the bill to save your life! Was visiting London so of course I had to go over to East Putney, the hottest spot in the metro area. Luckily I have friends there so we journeyed down to Hudson's for dinner. Not much of a beer selection. Peroni on tap was all they had for draft. The food was all good. Starters: Fried Camembert- eaten in a flash. Very good. Potato skins- different from the ones we have in the US, but very good. They chop up the potatoes rather than scooping them out and refilling them Entree: Scampi and chips- Looked good, PW liked it. Burger- Nicely prepared, BS cleaned his place Dublin Chicken- This was my meal. As soon as I saw cheese and bacon, I knew I had to put this inside my belly. It was very good. They were out of the scotch egg appetizer, which disappointed me. But like I said, the food was tasty but I finished my first beer before the entrees came and didn't get another one until I had finished eating. It literally took 35 minutes to get the check. So if you're not in a rush and you don't get very thirsty, this is a terrific place. If you like to drink with your meal and don't want to spend three hours on dinner, not so much. Note: they add a 10% service charge automatically to the bill ___________________________________ RIP Whitney http://youtu.be/6J538b-OLRU

I feel super mean saying that but our food just wasn't great. The menu was eclectic, with a massive and seemingly random selection of offerings from breaded Camembert and roast dinners to Char Sui Buns and Mexican burrito bowls, plus all day breakfasts. I opted for the pancakes with blueberry compote as I had a sweet toothed moment. When they arrived I was staggered by the size of them. They were more like cakes than pancakes, they'd clearly been cooked in a small frying pan and then grilled rather than flipped. It gave them a kind of strange looking texture but I dived in regardless...only to cut it and have liquid pancake batter run out on to the plate. All three were the same. In fairness the waitress swapped them straight away for me but my partner had already finished his meal long before they brought my replacement, meaning we both had to sit and eat on our own. His omelette looked good and the fries were tasty although I little soggy. Overall, the service was good but disappointing to have to pay £8 for raw food and an uncomfortable experience as we had to watch each other eat.

The food was tasty. The service was fair. The ambiance was inviting and aesthetically pleasing. When we arrived, we were greeted and seated almost immediately upon entering the restaurant. The overall ambiance and decor was very pretty. After a short wait, the waiter brought us some water and took our orders. I drank the water pretty quickly, but the glass was never refilled, which was interesting. It was a good thing that our hotel was just across the street to get something else to drink. The food took awhile to arrive, but I guess it was somewhat worth the wait. I ordered the veggie burger along with sweet potato fries. The meal actually came with regular fries, but I substituted them for the earlier mentioned side. The veggie burger was pretty good. It had a pretty solid outer texture; however, the interior was a little mushy for my preference. While the mushiness did not detract from the flavor, it was the texture that made it a little off-putting. Aside from the texture of the veggie burger, the sweet potato fries were perfect in texture with an appropriate amount of saltiness.
