I came back to Goodwill for some CDs. When I was ready to check out I walked over to the cash…read moreregister, and waited. No one came over. Then another woman wanted to check out too, still no response from the staff. I saw another stack of CDs against the back wall, so I headed over there to look for more CDs to add to my collection. On my second trip to the register, the woman I saw before was being checked out. While waiting I noticed a cockroach crawling in the right display case. Yuck! It's a good thing they don't sell food.

I have been a regular donor to this Goodwill location for several years, contributing clothing,…read morefurniture, miscellaneous glassware, and other like-new items because I believed in the goodness and integrity of the Goodwill name. But something that recently happened to me there has me very upset. Shortly before closing I went into the store to quickly look for an item and right away I heard the announcement that the store would be closing in five minutes. I looked around and saw no other shoppers so I took my purse from the cart and left. Unfortunately my wallet accidentally slipped out of my purse and stayed in the cart. A few minutes after I left I realized my wallet was missing and immediately went back. The doors were already locked, but after my knocking, two employees, 1 male, 1 female, came to the door. I told them through the door that a few minutes ago I accidentally left my wallet in the cart I had been using and asked if they could please check it. They glanced briefly on the floor but did not check the cart, even though I said that I had just been there. The female employee told me through the locked doors that I had to come back the next day. I explained I'm from out of town, I was just leaving and wouldn't be in town the next day but she still wouldn't look for my wallet which I knew was in the last cart on the cart stand and she was standing right next to it. With no other choice I went back the next morning and the same employee (later identified as "Katie") that was talking to me through the door the night before, was unlocking the doors and opening up. She told me she found my wallet which had been put in the back safe. A manager with red hair then returned it to me. When I got to my car and looked inside I discovered that $160+ in cash was missing. I went back in the store and spoke to "Katie", who said she had opened my wallet "to see if it was something for sale." She showed no concern about the missing cash. The manager "Jennifer" was right there and did not address the issue. This situation is very upsetting, especially because I had returned within minutes the night before and that my wallet had been in employee possession. As the last customer in the store before closing, I believe my wallet was handled solely by store staff. To the employee who said she found my wallet: That money was for my six-year-old granddaughter's birthday gift that I promised her. The next day on her birthday she was in tears, she had her heart set on it. After years of supporting and donating to this store, I never thought something like this would happen. Because this situation involves missing cash while my property was in the possession of store employees, I expect to be contacted regarding the reimbursement of the missing cash, exactly $162. Also for documentation purposes I have filed a police information report regarding the missing cash. Store location 3000 N Tegner Rd, Turlock, CA 95380 Manager's name "Jennifer" Employee's name who admitted finding my wallet "Katie" This store deserves "0" stars!!

Poor customer service…read more Boot Barn is usually my go-to for all things Western wear, however my recent visit was met with poor service that is turning me away. My father and I came in to make a last-minute purchase for a belt buckle (ordering elsewhere online wouldn't come in time). After looking in the buckle case and deciding which one we wanted, we asked the nearest employee if we could see the buckle and then check out. The male employee was quite literally lounging directly behind the glass case and did not offer to help us. He was leaning on the clothing rack and was visibly annoyed that he had to walk over when we asked if the case could be opened. He grabbed the key, unlocked it, and just stood there, saying nothing. My dad took it upon himself to start grabbing the buckles himself. This was very uncomfortable because it was clear this was a delicate display full of glass and high-value items. We felt like the employee should have been grabbing the buckles and bringing them out for us. When putting back one of the buckles, my dad accidentally knocked over the plastic holder in the very back (nothing broken thankfully). The employee continued to stand, slumped over saying nothing to us, not offering to help. As my dad (who is an older man in his 70s) struggled to fix the display, I had to step in and try and figure it out myself all while the employee stood beside us completely silent. As we waited in line for the register, the same employee came up to us and offered us the box for the buckle. Upon my own inspection, I noticed the box he provided had a sticker with a higher price tag than what was on the buckle itself. If I hadn't been paying attention, we would've been charged more! Thankfully the cashier was super bubbly and friendly! She helped us navigate using our points and coupons. During all of my other visits, we were assisted promptly. They have helped us pick out clothing styles and get different sizes from the back. It is a bit unfortunate though that this Boot Barn location stocks very limited style options in women's boots above a size 8.5 or so. It seems like the majority of boots above this size are work-boot style instead of fashionable ones like the smaller sizes.

I said no. I worked in retail, I know what they're doing and it's beyond rude and annoying. I'm an adult, with a job, and an education, I do not take kindly to being a suspected thief or being profiled.. another employee approaches me and ask if I need help or a fitting room, no, I'll ask for help when I need it, I say. Then the owner approaches me again and asked if I want a fitting room, I say no, if you guys don't leave me alone I will leave, do you want me to leave? She said yes. So I dropped my items on the floor and walked out. Little does the owner know, because she's never there, that I am a long time customer and have spent quite a bit of money there over the years.. instead, she treats me like a criminal because I don't like to be bothered by people, especially not her. If I want to carry items around because I'm deciding on outfits or want to see how much I'm racking up as I pile things on my arms (I had 4 items), let me. I'm in gym clothes and have tattoos, so I'm being profiled? But fail to acknowledge I am wearing $130 nikes, and you think I wana steal $18 jeans? Haaaaa.. One of the last times I was in the store buying winter jackets (which I bought 2, and jeans, and t shirts, and under shirts, and a purse) her husband I'm assuming was very kind and pulled some new jackets out for me that were in a new shipment that wasn't completely out yet. Thank you for that. With business practices like this from her coupled with the things I've heard about her and how she has treated previous employees, training employees to be annoying and assume every customer is a thief, while disrespecting long time customers as well as new customers I bet.. I think I see where your business is going. I hope you shape up lady. And to all of your current employees who have been super helpful EVERY SINGLE TIME I've come in, thank you. You deserve to be working for a cooler company and have a better boss.
