I really appreciated the videos on setup; I really never read the printed instructions as the videos were so helpful. So I just received my murphy bed frame last week. I am impressed with the quality of the frame, it is heavy duty and I suspect will last a long time. It functions well in the first few days of use. My only issue with this company is that the frame kit was extremely difficult to put together. It took me three days total and multiple trips to the store to get additional tools. I still have a few pieces that are not complete on the bud but the bud can function without them. The company sent two allen wrenches and one small wrench with the kit. Unfortunately for me, I had recently given all of my tools away as I had moved from a good sized house to a small studio. I started putting the bed together thinking the included tools would be enough, with the exception of mounting the frame to the wall. I learned later that I would need an additional wrench for some of the nuts/bolts as they were a different size than the included wrench. First trip to store to buy adjustable wrench. Next challenge... assembling the frame. I was able to get this together by myself but then realized the center beams holes do not line up with the side pieces. I also am unable to get the screws that came with the frame to screw into the center beam. I had to get a drill to make the holes larger to account for the alignment problem. 2nd trip to store, which was fine since I needed to drill the screws in anyway to mount the bed. The last trip to the store was due to the final bolts and nuts. Which mounted the frame to the wall mount. Since there are two, and neither are the size that match the wrench included in the kit, I had to go buy another wrench/socket at the store. After all of this I got the bed together enough to use it and it is wonderful. My last task will be to one day get the springs on, those are tough as well and the book says to use a set of vice grips. I will borrow a pair one day from a friend to get those on. I just wanted to mention what a challenge this bed is to put together and wish they would either include more of the necessary tools or spell out exactly what you will need for the job up front. Otherwise I would say a great product. I have put together a smith machine in the past at home by myself and that was a challenge by its sheer size and weight but all of the holes lined up and all of the bolts were the same size. Much easier assemble. Would be nice is this team made the assembly a little more seamless. read more

After shopping around locally in Northern California and doing a bunch of searching on the Web, I stumbled on Wilding Wallbeds. Being a former woodworking teacher, I was initially very impressed with the fact that no particleboard was used in the construction and the website with the various detailed designs. When I called, I reached Brandon Wilding a salesperson who was both very knowledgeable and helpful. Before I ordered, I had numerous questions and Brandon explained patiently and clearly the various options and design styles. After considerable questioning and back and forth with my wife, we settled on a style and ordered the wall bed. Considering we had not landed a contractor for our office remodel, I asked if they could build it and "store it" until we were ready. This was not a problem and we were able to take advantage of the "free shipping" special that was available at the time we placed the order. When we were ready for delivery, the bed was sent via an independent trucking firm and sadly it was damaged during the shipping process. Be prepared for a heavy box containing all the various parts and mattress. You will likely need a furniture dolly to move it to an appropriate location to open and unpack. I took pictures of the damage and called Wilding the next day where I once again spoke with Brandon who steered me to Dennis Wilding the company president. After I sent the pictures, Dennis called and was very gracious, apologetic and assured me they would take care of the problem and strive to make me a happy customer. Within about a week, a new replacement "bed-box" was delivered with no damage. Following detailed YouTube instructions, starring none other than Dennis Wilding, I assembled the bed with a little help from a good friend. The assembly process isn't really very difficult, but you will really need an extra set of hands to simplify the assembly process. The bed is now mounted and operates flawlessly. We are presently having custom cabinets fabricated to integrate with the mounted functioning wall bed. In summary, it is always a pleasure working with professionals who are knowledgeable and really know what customer service is all about. I have and currently am experiencing a few issues: 1st issue- We purchased the bed in December and the sales person who I will only write his initials R.P. failed to let us know that there was an extra charge for the cabinet we ordered. We overlooked that that and continues with our purchase. When asked about installation and delivery, R.P. said that the delivery is free but the installation is $300. R.P told us that the installation is easy so we opted not to spend the extra $300 2nd issue- When the bed was delivered the company stated that they are only are to delver it to the nearest dry place. I assumed they would bring it in side but I was wrong. R. P. never explained this to us. The person that delivered the bed was supposed to put it into at least in a covered area, like a garage, but the shipping company dropped it on our driveway. (will write up a yelp report on "best moving company later) 3rd issue- We opened the bed and there are scratches and dings all over it. I called W. by W. where I purchased the bed in Chino Hills and was told that I have to call customer service. I called customer service and they are closed until Monday. So now a bed that I needed by mid January will most likely not happen until mid February. We spent 3k on this bed, money not well spent! I do like their styles and the quality does appear to be good, hopefully by February I can come back with a better review.... Until then... read more

I have spent much of my weekend putting together my new, pretty expensive wilding wallbed. I had to go to home depot to get many missing screws and two handles that were also missing in my kit. Also the cam fittings that hold the cabinet together are cheap plastic crap I'm sure they get from China by the boat load. The fittings break prior to you being able to get enough tork on them so they can do the job they are supposed too. For the money these thing cost the quality should be much higher. In addition a few of my panel boards were not cut very well, lines were off due to dummy pulling off of a table saw too fast. Total lack of quality control with these people. read more

This review gets 5 stars because of the quality of service Wilding Wallbeds gives you. I live in the NJ/ NYC area and was worried about shipping a king size bed from UT. Not only did the bed come beautifully packed without damage but the service I received with the company was stellar. Customer satisfaction goes beyond just the sale of the product. They represent excellent customer service if there is a problem with anything you might be concerned with. And then they fix that problem for you. This review is stating that because I was apprehensive about buying something sight unseen and so far away. I was amazed and so satisfied I needed to put this out there, if anyone in my situation is worried don't be. I love my Wilding Wallbed as well as the mattress I purchased from there also. Awesome Quality and Style - perfect choice when you want your room to be something other than a guest bed most of the time. We have had our Wilding Bi-fold Bookcase Wallbed for about 3 months now and could not be more pleased with it! We wanted a "Library" in our spare bedroom, but needed a guest bed now and then, and the bi-fold bookcase bed was the perfect option. Wilding's customer service was very helpful in talking through options on the phone prior to the order. They obviously knew their products well and were able to customize to meet my needs - a nice option that other Murphy/Wall Bed places like Califonia Closets did not have, and at a lower price, and with free shipping. I had recently purchased a nice pillow-top extra deep mattress, I did not want to give this up, and Wilding was able to custom make an extra deep unit to accomodate the mattress. (Note that this is a tight fit and accomodates the mattress but no extra room for pillows or heavy comforters, and that this was pointed out to me when I ordered, so I was aware ahead of time) I received some great advice on adding built-in cabinets to either side, and at Dan's suggestion they included some additional trim pieces stained to match in order to fill in the gap between the wall and the unit for a custom built-in look. The order process was pretty simple, even considering that I changed my mind on the stain shortly after ordering... and it was not a problem. I was given an estimated date when my order would be shipped, and a few days before that date I received an e-mail that it was on its' way! The packing job was top-notch, there was not a scratch, dent, or mark anywhere. I have not seen furniture this well made in years - I can see this thing becoming an antique! Nicely matched grains, everything fit together precisely, the wood finish is absolutely beautiful (Cherry wood with Crimson Spray Finish). The bookcase operates smoothly and easily and even "fully loaded" things don't really move around when you open and close the bookcases or bed. The light above the bed is a nice feature, and it turns on with a touchpad on the "headboard" and there is a safety feature that turns it off when the bed is closed. The entire project went together a few hours at a time but I estimate it could be easily done in about 6-8 hours with minimal tools and average skills. The bed was shipped with an instructional DVD telling you how to put it together. DO NOT skip ahead... there were very few times where we had any trouble at all putting it together, and when it did, it was because we thought we knew what we were doing and jumped ahead! But if you do it step by step following the DVD you will be fine. An earlier review noted that the furniture was just dropped off and they expected you to move it inside yourself... this was true, but was fully disclosed to me at the time that I placed the order, so we could make plans on where to put the boxes and arrange for help moving them. read more

We were very happy with our Wilding Wallbeds experience. We were able to go into the showroom where we, with the help of our salesman, designed the exact bed we wanted. We ordered the bi-fold bookcase and it is absolutely beautiful. The bed was made in a few weeks and was delivered on the day we needed it. The two men who assembled the bed could not have been nicer. They were very thorough in their assembly. The bed is well anchored to the wall, is very sturdy and is a very well made product. We also ordered our mattress from Wilding Wallbeds as well and it's a very comfortable mattress. We must give Wilding Wallbeds 5 stars because they earned 5 stars. read more

I walked in to the Wilding Wallbeds store by chance. I had no intention of buying a bed. But after looking at the quality, ease of raising and lowering, and the space saving opportunity, I bought a mission style queen wallbed with mattress. They said it would be 6-8 weeks before delivery and they installed the bed within that timeframe. The installers were experienced and professional. The bed quality is outstanding. The people that have slept on the bed say it's very comfortable. I can now use that bedroom as an exercise room when I don't have company. The wallbed is a great space saving solution. The ease of raising and lowering is amazing. Wish I'd found this solution sooner. read more

We recently purchased a Wall Bed from Wilding and we have to say the product is fantastic and looks great. We assembled the bed using the YouTube video without any serious problems. There was some confusion when it came time to install the lights and the placement of the kill switch but nothing we couldn't think through. Our only disappointment was the white glove shipping that we requested which, to make a long story short, was no fault of Wilding. Wilding stood by their commitments and even backed out the white glove cost from our invoice. Great people to work with and excellent follow through. ok, so the co probably still sells this bed, don't know whether they still don't tell buyers up front about the design flaws. however, i did get a call from mr wilding, after posting my very bad review. he did forward a part for the bed, that i had to get installed, which mostly took care of the problem. he also sent a piece to block out a large opening along front at floor level. in other words, he did remedy the situation as much as he could. still doesn't excuse the very bad business practices previously addressed. also, he excused the design flaw as saying the mechanism was made in china, which was disappointing, and did not excuse anything. another complaint re the bed is that i've had 2 previously. they opened outwardly from each side, the bed pulled down, legs positioning automatically. this 1 pulls down, door and bed attached, quite heavy, the legs u have to manipulate open as the unit comes down. all in all, very disappointed. never buy such a bed without actually seeing the unit assembled in a showroom. mr wilding seems like a very nice man. just sells an inferior procuct, with very bad business practices. read more

If you are interested in making that TINY space you have into a really functional one, consider having the folks at Wallbeds by Wilding build you a wallbed. You can tweak the design, wood, color, fittings, etc. to suit your need. They ARE pricey, but absolutely fabulous. If only for the fun, check out their website and see how cool these things are. We even have a table attached to ours so that when the full mattress, queen size bed is up out of the way, we have a table for computer use, game playing, etc. It makes an otherwise awkward space into a guest room. Today I had to call them because some doofus in my family didn't close the latch properly and a hinge and some latches needed replacement. Wilding is shipping them out to me free! What terrific service! Even though the parts are free, in this case, we absolutely "got what we paid for" for the original item - a quality piece, well built and beautifully designed...and now, excellent customer service to boot. A previous review commented on the video installation guide, the weight of the unit, etc. My husband planned for it, as the company indicated and the installation went well. But the unit does need YOU to be present to get it off the truck and into your house. This is work - but it's a fabulous bed system and worth the effort.
