    Steak & Blue

Stopped in for a lunch meet for three in the early afternoon. I ordered the Steak and Blue, another person had the Asian Salad, and the third had an Italian Sandwich. My sandwich was tasty , filled with meat, red peppers and blue cheese. Served with an assortment of chips. Everyone was happy with their meal. Service was excellent!. Place was clean, open and well lighted.

Love, love the remodel it's light and bright a great vibe. I had moved and hadn't been in the restaurant in a while. The new menu items are something I'll have to try. However the potato soup and turkey avocado sandwich was very good. The French bread was so good it melts by in your mouth. The service is quick while the restaurant is clean and employees are friendly and customer service oriented. Thank you for the great service!

Nice little cafe with many great options: breakfast, sandwiches, salad, soup, pasta, and baked goods. We got a wide assortment for two+ for like $60 (including tax & tip). Nice job you guys!

    Meatballs & ricotta toast

Wasn't in the mood for salad, soup or a sandwich. Ordered this meatball & ricotta side dish (under $9). It was delicious, almost licked the plate clean.. PS - I very rarely leave reviews. The waitress said that the dessert fig & ricotta was very good too.

Always a solid place to get a sandwich and soup! Staff is young kids but they are all really nice. Food has always been good. I always get the half soup and salad. The tuna on rye is the way to go! The strawberry salad is also my fav . Tried the Italian wedding soup. And it needed salt but was good. The sandwich's always seem to need extra mayo in my option.

It is one of those places you can always count on for a comforting meal and genuinely kind service. Whether you're stopping in for breakfast, lunch, or just a coffee and pastry, the food is consistently fresh and flavorful. The staff here is friendly and attentive without being overbearing--it's clear they take pride in making every guest feel welcome. The atmosphere is bright, casual, and perfect for everything from solo work time to a casual catch-up with friends. Their sandwiches and soups are always a hit, and the bakery selection is hard to resist. It's a great neighborhood spot with reliably good vibes and even better food.

Why did they get rid of signature Wildflower salad?

Hello Mimi! We updated our menu to keep it fresh and innovative. We understand how disappointing it can be when a favorite item is removed but we do hope our menu is diverse enough so it can accommodate to all flavor pallets. Thank you for inquiring!

    Is Wildflower organic?

Technically no. They use organic arugula but I don't see any major organic claims. It is very delicious including the vegan/veg menu items.

For bar food, the food was actually pretty good overall. My sister-in-law ordered a wedge salad and chicken wings. She said the salad was in delicious. I didn't try it because blue cheese dressing is definitely not my thing, but I did try her wings, and those were delicious! My nephew ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with fries. I forgot to take a picture before he dug into it. The fries were really good, but unfortunately, the chicken sandwich wasn't. The chicken itself tasted good, but the spicy sauce was "yucky," according to my nephew--and I have to agree with him! He didn't even finish it, so I ended up sharing my pizza with him. We probably should've sent the sandwich back, but oh well. I ordered the Meatza pizza. When it came out, it looked a little dry, but it ended up tasting much better than it looked! I enjoyed it and was happy to share it with my nephew. My brother ordered the catfish and fries, and that was SO good! The fish was very flavorful with a nice, light, crispy batter. I would definitely recommend the catfish. And once again, the fries were really good! The only real issue we had was the service. Our server didn't come around often enough to refill our drinks, and we had to wait a while to get our check. Other than that, we had a good experience. My brother and his family really enjoyed themselves and said they'd happily come back the next time they're in town. Between the football games, live music, good atmosphere, and mostly good food, it was a fun place to take family visiting from out of town.

The staff was also really thoughtful about seating us farther from the music since I was with my deaf friend and we wanted to be able to communicate comfortably. The loaded fries were SO good and absolutely worth the wait. We also got the Tomato + Pesto pizza, which was delicious with a perfectly crispy crust. The Blueberry Smash was a little lackluster. It tasted more syrupy and didn't have mint or lime, which I feel like really makes the drink. I've had it at the Goodyear location and liked it better there. Bathrooms were clean, service was friendly, and despite a little wait, the food delivered! Definitely want to come back and try brunch.

The patio is shaded and they have very powerful misters, which made the Arizona heat much more comfortable. I did notice that a few of the tables toward the edge of the patio were wet from the misting system, though. The restaurant was extremely busy, so the service was on the slower side. The staff was friendly and working hard, but it definitely felt like they could use a few more people during peak brunch hours. The menu is fantastic. There are so many great options that I honestly had a hard time deciding what to order. I chose the red chicken chilaquiles. The tortilla chips had a great texture, but by the time they reached the table they had absorbed almost all of the sauce. I'm not sure if that's just their style of chilaquiles or if my plate had been sitting in the kitchen for a bit. The red sauce itself was good, but it tasted more tomato-forward than the traditional red chile flavor I usually expect from chilaquiles. The matcha was to sweet and creamy: not of my liking. It didn't taste like matcha. The matcha pancakes were good. The atmosphere is definitely part of the experience. They had a DJ playing music, giving the restaurant more of a fun nightclub vibe than a typical breakfast spot. It was unexpected, but I actually enjoyed it. They also have an impressive Bloody Mary bar with lots of toppings and garnishes. The only thing that gave me pause was that the topping containers are open and located right by the entrance, which made me wonder how much dust or debris they might be exposed to throughout the day. One thing to be aware of is that there was an additional service charge added to the bill, which may be related to paying with a credit card. The manager was very nice and attentive. The server was ok and the hostess could be more friendly. Parking lot is limited Overall, Hash Kitchen is a fun brunch spot with a lively atmosphere, a menu full of tempting choices, and food I'd happily come back to try again. I just wish the service moved a little faster during the busy brunch hours and that a couple of the small details were improved.

Very disappointing experience, especially for a birthday celebration…read more We had reservations to celebrate my son's birthday. When we first walked in, the restaurant was beautifully decorated and had a great vibe, so we were excited for the evening. Unfortunately, we were seated all the way in the back, in the room where they serve breakfast. There were no decorations, no atmosphere, and it was extremely quiet compared to the lively setting we had seen when we walked in. There was also another family in the room with a screaming infant. We have kids ourselves, so we completely understand that babies cry, but combined with the lack of atmosphere, it made the experience even less enjoyable. We politely asked if we could be moved to the main dining area, but they were unable to accommodate us. Since we were there specifically to celebrate a birthday and were looking for a fun, celebratory atmosphere, we decided to leave after having one appetizer and water. This simply was not the experience we were expecting when making a reservation for a birthday celebration. If we had known we would be seated in that back room with such a different atmosphere from the main restaurant, we would have made other plans. Thankfully, the evening was saved by Kembara across the way. My husband spoke with their manager while I closed out our bill, and despite us having no reservation, they went out of their way to accommodate us and make my son's birthday feel special. Their kindness and willingness to help truly turned the evening around.

1 STAR -- GOOD BURGERS DON'T EXCUSE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE…read moreI honestly cannot believe the way we were treated at Philly Steak & Burger Company in the Phoenix/Glendale area--not once, but twice. The first time we visited, the employee at the register actually commented on our tip and said to my son-in-law, "Oh yes, I'll work for free for you." Let that sink in. Here he is speaking to my son-in-law who is supporting five people in his family, strategizing a way to take them to dinner while dealing with his MS and this is how he gets treated. I will never go back for that. You are standing at the register, taking our order and payment, not waiting on a table, refilling our drinks, or providing traditional table service--and yet you feel entitled to criticize and shame a customer over their tip? That is completely inappropriate. You would think after an experience like that, we wouldn't go back. But we decided to give them another chance. Big mistake. This time, my family spent OVER $100 on burgers and fries. I tipped the person at the register $15, which I considered to be a generous tip for the level of service provided. We get our own drinks. We get our own condiments. The food is brought out once, and that's essentially the extent of the service. I politely asked the employee if I could have a side of mustard. His response? "I'll try to remember." Seriously? That's the kind of attitude you get after spending over $100 in your restaurant? I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I wasn't being rude. I simply asked for mustard with my meal--and the employee responded as though I was an inconvenience. At this point, I have to say that the customer service is completely unacceptable. Customers should not be made to feel guilty about their tips, and they certainly shouldn't be treated disrespectfully after spending their hard-earned money at your business. And let's be honest: the burgers are good, but they aren't THAT good. There are countless places throughout the Valley where you can get a good burger without being made to feel like you're doing the restaurant a favor by spending your money there. What makes this even more disappointing is that my family has supported this business, and more than 20 members of my family have been customers here. Not anymore. You have lost my business--and the business of my entire family. A restaurant can have good food, but if the people working there make customers feel unwelcome, embarrassed, or like an inconvenience, eventually people will stop coming. You don't get to shame customers for their tips and then expect them to keep coming back. There are plenty of other restaurants in the Valley that serve good burgers, and I would much rather spend my money somewhere that actually appreciates its customers. Philly Steak & Burger Company: you've lost a family of customers over something that should have been very simple--treat people with basic courtesy and respect. Never again.
