I've gone to her twice for a haircut, once for full balayage, and once for toner. Before I went in for a toner it had been six months since we had done color and I was still getting compliments from people on my hair color! Most recently I decided to book Nicole for my birthday updo and makeup and she was phenomenal! I was a bit worried because the appointment was at 9am and my event wasn't until 3pm. She utilized a special sewing technique for the loose curls look I wanted and it lasted all day through the night. Before I went to bed I took out the pins and my bun was still intact when I woke up because of the sewing! Magic! I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup. I loved how she did my makeup and how she worked with my natural features. I felt like a princess. Thank you, Nicole!!

I failed to read one thing in the contract about her commuting fee, but Maria was understanding and we worked it out. She did a fantastic job with my mom's makeup for her 90th birthday party, and my mom looked gorgeous and party ready. My mom never wears makeup and was worried about having heavy makeup, but Maria gave her a natural and pretty look with appropriate lashes that made her look amazing. Maria is also very kind and patient, which made the session go smoothly. It was fun to see my mom's transformation. I highly recommend Maria's makeup services for any occasion!

There are two main components I think are important to emphasize about her work- her makeup skills, and her energy. Regarding makeup - our initial trial was thorough and very detailed. Maria was willing to work through all my likes/dislikes, answer all my and my moms questions about the process. I was adamant that even though I was putting together an Indian wedding with heavy outfits, I wanted all my makeup looks to be as natural and timeless as possible with elements of fun. Maria delivered on all of these requests, which included numerous rounds of trying different eyelash strips/lipstick colors/eyeliner shades and texting inspo pics and was always helpful and patient. I was so bummed I had to wash my face at the end of both days I had my makeup done by her! Regarding energy- Maria brought fun, lighthearted and genuine vibes that my entire family and I appreciated. Maria's ability to both keep light conversations while maintaining awareness of sensitive moments was such a gift that truly helped me enjoy the moment instead of being caught up in details. No questions about it, book Maria!!

She has done my nails a handful of times and always exceeded my expectations. She never gets polish on my cuticles and is a perfectionist when it comes to nail art. I've had the pleasure of woking with her during my engagement photo session and wedding last year. I can't believe how my hair and makeup stayed all day from SF at 8AM until 6pm in Las Vegas, where the shoot took place. (Check out some photos I addded.) I wish I could have taken her with me for touch ups, but it wasn't even necessary! I loved the natural looking false lashes she chose for me, They look amazing in person and in photos. Nancy was amazing on my wedding day. She came over super early in the morning and worked on 5 of my bridesmaids' hair, did my mom's makeup, and did my hair. (I had 3 different styles, by the way.. and she did her magic!) Overall, Nancy is really nice, talented and will not disappoint. I highy recommend her and will use her again in the future. Her prices are lower than most MUA/hair stylists I contacted.

My first encounter with her was to do a shellac mani and pedi at a shop in Alameda. Nancy was wonderful to talk to and she did excellent work. I was really happy with my nails and the color stayed on for a long time. She is also a talented artist and will draw anything you ask her to. When I found out that Nancy was doing lashes, I went to try her out and was overjoyed with the results. As you can see from the photo, another salon really messed up my "mink" lashes and they were curly and going all different directions. Nancy was so patient and removed each lash one by one in order to start fresh and install a new set. The whole process was pain free and when she was finished, my lashes were beautiful and I was so happy with them. Nancy has a way of making the lashes really full and voluminous without looking tacky. Her style is apprenticed from the famous Long Mi lash school. 3 weeks after getting the lashes done, I still have almost have of them left, which is rare! Thank you Nancy for all your effort! SERVICE - 5 Stars, she is extremely professional and knows how to take great care of her clients. She will offer advice anytime you ask her.

Jen emailed me back within a day with all her details and information, and I was so excited. I shared photos with her, and she worked with me and my hair/skin concerns to get a look that I loved. I had my trial with her about two weeks before my wedding so we could also have a trial shoot with our photographer. I rarely wear makeup, and I was blown away by how good I looked and felt - like the best version of myself. The makeup also photographed wonderfully. Jen was so kind and funny, which made the getting ready process on the wedding day so much less stressful. My makeup also lasted through a hot day at City Hall, a windy outdoor photoshoot, and a dinner with dancing, somehow without creasing or running. Sorcery!!! Thank you, Jen!!

I gave her a general idea of what I was going for and she was able to quickly run with it and when she showed me the finished product at the end, I was so thrilled. OK, so it's PROM SEASON!!!! If you know, like I know, it's extremely difficult and equally…read moreimportant to have an amazing makeup artist. I'm old school, so I grew up on M.A.C. Lipgloss and Ruby Woo. Last year, I struggled with finding the right makeup and had zero luck with a makeup artist for her junior prom (if you don't remember, reference my previous reviews). This year, I told myself for senior prom I would find the perfect makeup artist to assure everything would look fantastic for her high school grand finale. I called two days prior (I know, so much for preparation, right?). I was advised that though they were booked, there may be a chance for securing an artist via walk-in, so today's later, we crossed our fingers and toes and moseyed into the M.A.C. in Emeryville. We were greeted upon entering by the makeup artists who were all diligently working on clients as well as multitasking assisting customers with locating desired items and checking out. After perusing the store, I was approached by the store manager, Matthew, and I explained to him that I was advised to arrive between 2-4 p.m., that I was hoping to make a purchase and have makeup applied for my daughter's prom. He did inform me that they were fully booked and that we likely weren't going to be seen; however, he did agree to check the schedule. Luckily when a previous appointment was a no-show, Matthew asked how soon I needed to leave and explained to me that there would be frequent breaks as he assisted customers, but if I was accepting of the terms, he would service my daughter. Matthew was friendly, communicative, informative, and professional. Truthfully, I can't say enough about how positive and empowering this experience was for my daughter; she was properly matched, given both skincare and college advice while being included in the decision-making process. Matthew did a phenomenal job! My daughter was happy and I myself was grateful and throughly impressed. My daughter applied her lashes herself at home as it was her personal preference. We received so many compliments on her makeup and walked away with items recommended and used to create and possibly recreate the look. Since I've posted her pictures online, friends and teammates have reached out to hopefully secure a makeup appointment for themselves at the M.A.C. store in Emeryville. We will most definitely be returning customers as we have quite a few special events coming up as we prepare for her high school graduation. Helpful Tip: Call in advance to secure an appointment especially on the weekends.

But when it's not genuine, it's always transparent. I should've read the reviews first; I would've avoided this location. I don't understand how he is the Store Manager based on these reviews showing a clear history of rude behavior and dissatisfied customers, but perhaps MAC doesn't care about their clients. When I arrived to the store, I had the unfortunate experience of Phillip doing my makeup. He listened to NOTHING I asked for and wanted in a look. And it was clear he wasn't a good artist period based on his techniques! My foundation was orange, the liner around my eyes was crooked, horrible blending, clumpy mascara, and creasing around my eyes. I told him repeatedly I didn't like the look, and each time he made it worse. He had no idea what he was doing! I ran out the store, fast, which is why I didn't get a chance to take any pics - and ran over to Sephora to wipe the garish 80s drug addict-prostitute makeup Phillip gave me, and it was there that a real, talented makeup artist gave me the look that I wanted...and it was there that I spent my money on all products she used on me. Avoid this location and avoid Phillip at all costs!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Naomi and her team…read more Working with Naomi for my wedding day was hands-down one of the best decisions I made during the planning process! From the very beginning, communication was seamless, professional, and so reassuring. As someone who rarely wears makeup in my day-to-day life, I was a bit nervous about feeling heavy or looking unlike myself, or not knowing what best complemented me. I had a trial done, and Naomi was incredibly patient, gentle, and welcoming throughout the entire process. She was so accommodating in letting me try new things, and experimenting until we found a look that felt completely right, where I felt like myself. (A bonus is that she was so fun and easy to talk to! She made me feel instantly comfortable). On the morning of the wedding, Naomi was wonderful. Both my hair and makeup turned out even better than I could have imagined--I felt completely like myself, just the most beautiful, radiant version! Additionally, everything held up flawlessly throughout the entire day and night--through crying, dancing, and endless photos. My bridesmaids, mother, and mother-in-law also looked and felt so gorgeous, too. (Thank you so much to Jaylyn and Marilyn, who performed their hair and make-up. Seeing my family and friends look absolutely stunning on the day of was a huge highlight of my day. It was absolutely perfect!) Thank you again, Naomi & team!

Brushed by an angel, an angel name Ngan. She is a heaven send!…read more I've found Ngan through one of the FB Wedding groups and after seeing her reviews, Instagram, and website, I reached out to schedule a hair and make up trial. I already knew from the beginning that Ngan was going to be great to work with - she was friendly and personable and it felt like I was having a conversation with an old friend, to be honest. Ngan was not only patient with me through my trial as she listened to my concerns and worked with me who has 0 knowledge about make up, but she provided suggestions and ideas based on my skin tone and likes and dislikes. My mother also did a separate hair trial with Ngan because she had some concerns if she would be able to get her hair in a bun since she had some bald spots she wanted to cover with thin hair and Ngan was able to reassure her and get to work to make her feel good. Coordinating a time and place for both the trial and the actual wedding day was very easy to do. Ngan and her assistant arrived on the morning of wedding in a timely manner and got to work right away. My bridal party looked and felt amazing which was very important to me. My hair and make up looked perfect - Ngan did a fantastic job. Even though we went through a trial already a few months back, she reiterated what we went through, what we agreed on, and asked if there was any changes to the plan. She worked with me and my thinner eyebrows and I have to toot my own horn and say I looked fantastic. Overall, I would highly recommend Ngan for any special occasion - whether it's a wedding, an engagement party, or a "just because I deserve it" day. Her communication is on point, she's patient and kind, and open to any concerns you may have. My hair stayed in place the entire day and my make up turned out great in the photos.
