Impossible right?? She did such a great job of helping me find this look! Her opinions and advice were embraced and I even made a change to my lip color right before she finished off my whole look on the wedding day, and she remained cool, calm, and positive about it! Thank god because I was feeling all the wedding day anxiety. Now that I've had my makeup and hair done for several weddings, I wanted to note a couple things that she does differently which make her well worth your budget. She asks for photos of you with and without makeup prior to the trial (and hair naturally in a photo as well), and she does the same for your bridesmaids. This made me feel like she would be well-prepared for the wedding day for all the different skin tones and hair length that bridesmaids have, lowering the possibility to run short on time. She was also available throughout the year of planning, not just during the trial. I would email her photos and she would send some back, and I would send feedback about my trial look that I wanted to adjust after seeing the photos she took for me (hint - take photos and look at them a week or two later with fresh eyes). I noticed that she also took notes from our trial and had reviewed them on the wedding day - I haven't seen any other artist do this that I've worked with. This also helped with the time efficiency AND getting that look perfectly since the last time we had done the trial was months before. Trust me, you'll have Bride Brain no matter how organized you are and you can't have an artist who asks you what lip color it was that you had wanted. So glad she had the look all set to go and from there we went! I am so pleased with how my makeup turned out in my photos and lastly, she brought an assistant because I had so many bridesmaids and she was seriously incredible too. I LOVED my BM's makeup and hair (always a plus...haha)!

As a client, you really feel you are in great hands (literally) with Liza. I've had the privilege to be her face canvas for an outdoor boudoir shoot and for my wedding this past June. For the boudoir shoot, Liza did my hair and make-up and I remember coming home that night not wanting to take my make-up off because I've never had it done so good! It was flawless and did not feel caked on at all. There was no question who I would call when my wedding came around. For my wedding, Liza along with a second artist, Rose Lasprilla, took care of me, my mom and my bridesmaids. Liza definitely helped make the vision for my wedding come true and I can't thank her enough for making all of us feel beautiful and look great in our pictures on that special day! Liza truly loves what she does and it shows in all of her work from photo shoots and fashion shows to parties and weddings. She explained because it's not her space she would need also additional time to setup. This didn't include sweeping up or moving the hair on the floor. Sure it's not her space but she didn't acknowledge it in anyway. She didn't even have me saved as the right client leading to confusion on both ends Extremely condescending and rude. I am 5'10 she informed me because my legs were long it was making her job challenging. She told me the dark circles under my eyes were very noticeable and hard to hide. She got makeup in both of my eyes and informed me because I don't regularly wear makeup this was because of my eyes Despite this I was willing to go with her. However I didn't get back to her within 48 hours. Stated no where. And she never followed up with me leading to last minute confusion on my end assuming having already paid her for a trial would encourage some professionalism in a courtesy follow up. Wedding planning is stressful! Additionally in our last conversation after she informed me she likely couldn't do the makeup. She asked where I was planning on getting ready for my wedding. I told her the salon. She then went on to disparage their space as it doesn't even have the table space she would need to do her work. I thankfully was able to find a nicer and actually warm artist and had an amazing wedding.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Naomi and her team…read more Working with Naomi for my wedding day was hands-down one of the best decisions I made during the planning process! From the very beginning, communication was seamless, professional, and so reassuring. As someone who rarely wears makeup in my day-to-day life, I was a bit nervous about feeling heavy or looking unlike myself, or not knowing what best complemented me. I had a trial done, and Naomi was incredibly patient, gentle, and welcoming throughout the entire process. She was so accommodating in letting me try new things, and experimenting until we found a look that felt completely right, where I felt like myself. (A bonus is that she was so fun and easy to talk to! She made me feel instantly comfortable). On the morning of the wedding, Naomi was wonderful. Both my hair and makeup turned out even better than I could have imagined--I felt completely like myself, just the most beautiful, radiant version! Additionally, everything held up flawlessly throughout the entire day and night--through crying, dancing, and endless photos. My bridesmaids, mother, and mother-in-law also looked and felt so gorgeous, too. (Thank you so much to Jaylyn and Marilyn, who performed their hair and make-up. Seeing my family and friends look absolutely stunning on the day of was a huge highlight of my day. It was absolutely perfect!) Thank you again, Naomi & team!

Brushed by an angel, an angel name Ngan. She is a heaven send!…read more I've found Ngan through one of the FB Wedding groups and after seeing her reviews, Instagram, and website, I reached out to schedule a hair and make up trial. I already knew from the beginning that Ngan was going to be great to work with - she was friendly and personable and it felt like I was having a conversation with an old friend, to be honest. Ngan was not only patient with me through my trial as she listened to my concerns and worked with me who has 0 knowledge about make up, but she provided suggestions and ideas based on my skin tone and likes and dislikes. My mother also did a separate hair trial with Ngan because she had some concerns if she would be able to get her hair in a bun since she had some bald spots she wanted to cover with thin hair and Ngan was able to reassure her and get to work to make her feel good. Coordinating a time and place for both the trial and the actual wedding day was very easy to do. Ngan and her assistant arrived on the morning of wedding in a timely manner and got to work right away. My bridal party looked and felt amazing which was very important to me. My hair and make up looked perfect - Ngan did a fantastic job. Even though we went through a trial already a few months back, she reiterated what we went through, what we agreed on, and asked if there was any changes to the plan. She worked with me and my thinner eyebrows and I have to toot my own horn and say I looked fantastic. Overall, I would highly recommend Ngan for any special occasion - whether it's a wedding, an engagement party, or a "just because I deserve it" day. Her communication is on point, she's patient and kind, and open to any concerns you may have. My hair stayed in place the entire day and my make up turned out great in the photos.

There are two main components I think are important to emphasize about her work- her makeup skills, and her energy. Regarding makeup - our initial trial was thorough and very detailed. I was adamant that even though I was putting together an Indian wedding with heavy outfits, I wanted all my makeup looks to be as natural and timeless as possible with elements of fun. Maria delivered on all of these requests, which included numerous rounds of trying different eyelash strips/lipstick colors/eyeliner shades and texting inspo pics and was always helpful and patient. I was so bummed I had to wash my face at the end of both days I had my makeup done by her! Regarding energy- Maria brought fun, lighthearted and genuine vibes that my entire family and I appreciated. Maria's ability to both keep light conversations while maintaining awareness of sensitive moments was such a gift that truly helped me enjoy the moment instead of being caught up in details. No questions about it, book Maria!!

Lipgloss and Ruby Woo. Last year, I struggled with finding the right makeup and had zero luck with a makeup artist for her junior prom (if you don't remember, reference my previous reviews). This year, I told myself for senior prom I would find the perfect makeup artist to assure everything would look fantastic for her high school grand finale. I called two days prior (I know, so much for preparation, right?). I was advised that though they were booked, there may be a chance for securing an artist via walk-in, so today's later, we crossed our fingers and toes and moseyed into the M.A.C. in Emeryville. We were greeted upon entering by the makeup artists who were all diligently working on clients as well as multitasking assisting customers with locating desired items and checking out. After perusing the store, I was approached by the store manager, Matthew, and I explained to him that I was advised to arrive between 2-4 p.m., that I was hoping to make a purchase and have makeup applied for my daughter's prom. He did inform me that they were fully booked and that we likely weren't going to be seen; however, he did agree to check the schedule. Luckily when a previous appointment was a no-show, Matthew asked how soon I needed to leave and explained to me that there would be frequent breaks as he assisted customers, but if I was accepting of the terms, he would service my daughter. Matthew was friendly, communicative, informative, and professional. Truthfully, I can't say enough about how positive and empowering this experience was for my daughter; she was properly matched, given both skincare and college advice while being included in the decision-making process. Matthew did a phenomenal job! My daughter was happy and I myself was grateful and throughly impressed. My daughter applied her lashes herself at home as it was her personal preference. We received so many compliments on her makeup and walked away with items recommended and used to create and possibly recreate the look. Since I've posted her pictures online, friends and teammates have reached out to hopefully secure a makeup appointment for themselves at the M.A.C. store in Emeryville. We will most definitely be returning customers as we have quite a few special events coming up as we prepare for her high school graduation. Helpful Tip: Call in advance to secure an appointment especially on the weekends.

When I arrived to the store, I had the unfortunate experience of Phillip doing my makeup. He listened to NOTHING I asked for and wanted in a look. And it was clear he wasn't a good artist period based on his techniques! My foundation was orange, the liner around my eyes was crooked, horrible blending, clumpy mascara, and creasing around my eyes. I told him repeatedly I didn't like the look, and each time he made it worse. He had no idea what he was doing! I ran out the store, fast, which is why I didn't get a chance to take any pics - and ran over to Sephora to wipe the garish 80s drug addict-prostitute makeup Phillip gave me, and it was there that a real, talented makeup artist gave me the look that I wanted...and it was there that I spent my money on all products she used on me. Avoid this location and avoid Phillip at all costs!!

He also provided a questionnaire for me and my bridesmaids to fill out, asking about our make-up styles and skin types. Again, super organized. The morning of my wedding Max was right on time, had a great set up and used plenty of PPE to ensure everyone felt safe and comfortable. It was a busy morning with back to back applications. My mother in-law (who was not getting makeup done) asked if there was time to do a little makeup and lash application. He graciously accommodated her request and she looked fantastic.
