Every time we drive through those gates, it feels like stepping into a different rhythm -- slower, softer, and full of heart. There's a calm that settles over me the moment I arrive, like all the noise of everyday life fades into the background. For a few precious hours, time seems to stand still. We spend our visits surrounded by the most amazing animals, each with their own story and personality. The people who care for them are just as special -- kind, genuine, and truly devoted to every creature on the farm. They always greet us by name, take time to chat, and make our son feel like part of their family. He loves to feed the sheep, who are so patient and gentle with him. I love learning each animal's name and backstory -- it makes every visit feel personal and deeply grounding. If you ever feel weighed down by the world, this is the place to go. It's impossible to leave without feeling lighter, calmer, and a little more connected to what really matters. And as a bonus -- they grow the most delicious fruits and vegetables right there on the farm, fresh from the earth that gives this place so much life. If you are looking for a special place to take your family, I highly recommend it!

First off it's huge and you are allowed to feed and pet ALL of the animals! They have so much to see! Cows, pigs, camels, and even a zebra!! I never thought in my life I'd pet a zebra, this experience is just incredible! They even have turkeys and peacocks that roam and even came up to us for some food! All of the animals were super friendly and adorable. We even saw the smallest mini horse ever that was so cute. There are also cats that roam the property and one of them followed us throughout the whole place. Can you ask for a cuter tour guide?! They also grow their own produce and sell eggs. We picked and cut our own pumpkins and left with some duck eggs as well! Overall this was just the most fun experience I've ever had. I regret not purchasing the membership because ever since I left I keep thinking about how bad I want to come back! This is definitely a hidden gem and a fantastic experience.

We had the most magical experience at Hoots Hollow Farm with Diane. I truly cannot recommend this…read moreplace enough. From the moment we arrived, Diane went above and beyond. When it started raining, she drove us around in her golf cart so we could still enjoy everything without missing a thing. It was such a thoughtful touch and made the whole experience feel so special. She took the time to introduce us to all the animals and was especially sweet with my son Atlas. Watching her gently introduce him to everything and everyone was honestly the highlight. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does and cares so much about the families who visit. The eggs are incredible. So fresh you can literally taste the difference. Her "rainbow eggs" are beautiful and you can tell there's such a variety. It feels like you're getting something truly special, not just a carton of eggs. One of my favorite parts is that after you buy eggs, she lets the kids hang out in the coop and play for as long as they want. There's also a little play area, which makes it such an easy and fun outing for families. And the location is perfect. It feels like a peaceful little farm escape, but you're still so close to the city, which makes it even better. Diane is truly the sweetest, and this farm is something really special. We loved every second and will absolutely be coming back.

Flowers were in bloom and they did offer raspberries, but also said that was slim as well. Sure enjoy, with 3 people and 6 eyes, we were able to fill up. You pre-pay and then they give you your container. Walk around and you can come here to pick different fruits during different seasons. Guess what, they have a petting zoo inside as well! How cool! If there is food available and they haven't been fed too much, you can grab a scoop and feed away! Staff was friendly and very helpful in navigating, especially when you forget where you are supposed to walk to in order to pick your fruit. I would say it is about farmer's market pricing, definitely not on the cheaper scale but you are paying for quality here. Can't wait to come back! We came here in August 2025, and then my Husband brought his mother and siblings here in October 2025. They loved it as well. Plenty of parking, although dirt parking, easy to get in and out. Highly recommend if coming to Julian. This is a landmark/staple of Julian to visit.

Pricing is great and affordable we did the Barnyard experience ! I didn't know they did online reservations which is something we will do in the future as the line to purchase tickets was a little long . The animals are very cute , but some of them are a little more aggressive for food so watch out ! Overall we loved the experience we had! So many places to walk and take pictures! I knew it was busy due to the parking but it didn't feel as overcrowded since the space is so large ! Highly recommend everyone to bring their families !

The place was VERY busy while I was there but the lines moved fast and they had multiple places you could buy food and drinks which helped. They also have a little market with all types of snacks, food, and drinks that are perfect to enjoy out on the lawn or patio. We were too late to see the farm or animals but we could view them in the distance which was a really cool and unique experience. I cant wait to come back for one of their many events they seem to hold. Quick tips: parking was a disaster, don't assume you will be parking in their lot if you go on a busy night or weekend. They had options nearby though that you could walk from. Also, the margaritas are strong, but in a good way! Don't be fooled by the premixed drink, I had two and was definitely feeling it.

Pros: This place has such a fun and refreshing vibe very outdoorsy, peaceful, and almost like a little escape from the usual city spots. It feels like you're on a farm (because you are), which makes the whole experience really different and memorable. There's a brewery on-site with a good variety of beers, and I liked that some of them had Japanese-inspired flavors it made the selection feel more unique than your typical brewery. We also did the farm ride, which was $15 per adult, and honestly it was a really fun experience. It's definitely more geared toward kids (the little tractors are tiny haha), but it was still enjoyable getting to ride through the farm, learn about everything, and then interact with the animals. Being able to pet horses and chickens was such a cool touch and made it feel very wholesome. Parking is free, which is always a plus. It's more of a make-your-own-spot situation on a dusty lot, but it wasn't too bad overall we were still able to find a space without too much trouble. Cons: The parking setup can be a little tricky, especially if you have a bigger car like an SUV since you kind of have to squeeze into spaces. Also, the farm ride is definitely more kid-oriented, so just keep that in mind if you're expecting something more adult-focused. I also wish the brewery operated more like a full bar setting, but it was still nice to try the beers. Verdict: If you're looking for something different and a little more interactive, this is a really fun spot to check out. It's great for a casual day outdoors, especially if you want a mix of activities, animals, and drinks. I'd definitely come back and would be interested in trying the restaurant there next time!

Cheap price, but you get what you pay for - ruined my hair and wasted my time…read more I normally pay $50 for a haircut from my regular barber, but with prices going up I thought I'd try this barber college since it's only $15 and the reviews mentioned supervisors always being present. Unfortunately, my experience was a total miss. First, the atmosphere is extremely loud - blasting hip-hop the entire time, which made it hard to communicate. The place is clean and the building looks nice from the outside, but it felt chaotic. Students and people hanging around were in oversized baggy clothes, and almost none of the students had sharp, well-groomed hair themselves (only one guy had a decent self-fade). That alone made me nervous. I got assigned to a student with 250 hours who genuinely seemed clueless about basic barbering terms. I asked for a classic taper with mid-length sideburns ("halfway down the ear"). He asked me about sideburns, I repeated "midpoint," and he immediately shaved them completely off and gave me fenders. Couldn't follow simple verbal instructions at all. He also didn't know what split ends were when I pointed them out. Multiple times he had to go find the supervisor, who was nowhere on the floor. We waited 5-10 minutes each time before the instructor finally appeared. The students seem to only know one style: high or mid fade finished with a hard razor lineup. If you want anything more traditional or natural (taper, no lineup, softer look), you're out of luck. I get that it's a school and the price is low, but there needs to be real supervision and students need to learn how to actually listen to clients and execute something other than the same "hood fade" on every head. I left looking worse than when I walked in and I'm still mad about the destroyed sideburns. Maybe some people only want that one specific urban fade and are fine with the vibe, but if you're looking for a clean, classic, or customizable haircut in a calm environment, spend the extra money and go to a real barber. I wanted to support a school, but I won't be back.
