A while later the tour starts. You get to walk all around the farm, hear how they plant their produce and you still get to pick your own clamshell of strawberries! It ends with a lunch that they make with produce from JR. I will say the lunch was good but definitely different from the vegan one we had a year ago. But very understandable since they had so many more people to feed this time. Mike led the tour and he was great! A seasoned pro and was not at all bothered having to lead such a large group.

I purchased a few jars of fresh honey and a sourdough loaf, the honey on toasted sourdough was a delicious treat. I also picked up some crisp green beans. They had a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables, all of which looked fresh and beautifully grown. I'll be back when I need more fruits and vegetables. They now offer a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) subscription too. I'm looking forward to trying one, since I already get a CSA box from a nearby farm. Also, this was advertised as a CSA type service. But really, the CSA box is more expensive than the "fruit and vegetable" subscription I was actually signed up for. The CSA is another option altogether. If you log on to your account in time to catch it, you might also see that your box allegedly worth $29 only consists of seven or eight types of produce. One produce slot was a SINGLE onion, another a SINGLE bunch of parsley, another slot being just two pears. Let's do the math, shall we? At seven items, you are paying OVER $4 for a single onion! Another $4+ for a bunch of parsley! $2 per pear?! Unless you are Lucille Bluth with a $20 banana, you may realize this is a huge scam. I even tried swapping things out based on the more reasonably priced "market prices" tab where you can choose your own produce to replace what they automatically put in your cart. Well, it still gets capped right around seven to eight items. I totally forgot this was the same service I'd seen online before and found terrible reviews for. Don't make my mistake!
