I went here on a Friday night for their happy hour with some friends. They have free two stepping lessons at 6:00! It was a bit slow during the class but around 7:30 a lot more people came and it was so much fun to see everyone two stepping on the dance floor! The bar service is very good, but management has an inflexible and arbitrary policy regarding use of their customer seating. On Friday nights, the upper level, with dozens of empty chairs, is closed off. When all the seats are occupied, management refuses to open up the upstairs or, failing that, to bring extra chairs downstairs. Definitely NOT customer friendly! read more

Cons: I went there on a Wednesday night accompanied by three woman. We went because it was ladies night and I was looking for a venue to have a birthday party. I was highly disappointed by this bar. It wasn't the Texas "honkie tonk" bar I was expecting. They have a dress code for backwards baseball caps and then all they played for 20 minutes was Hip-Hop. Really?!?! I felt discriminated against because of my tattoo sleeves. I thought this was a country bar not another Dallas Night Club. Thursday night was nice! We love to dance, there were about 75 people there whom also enjoyed country dancing. Here it's more of a country waltz. Music was good- Kyle park, George, randy Rogers. A large group of us decided to meet up here. We are all in our 30s and 40s, family and professional types. Be careful if you go here, the bouncers and managers are over zealous and egotistical. The bartenders are very unfriendly and will short change on your drinks. Honestly I like this place. The space inside is set up nicely. They have two bars downstairs, large dance floor and upper balcony level so you can look down on the people dancing. On Weekend they place a good balance of country music and also some pop and hip hop stuff. Mixed crowd 20-40+ People all dressed up in cowboy boots and ready to dance and have fun! This is a fav local spot of mine and has a lot of action considering there is typically more action down south in Austin. read more

Been a few times and it is a really nice facility. It's clean, decent size and nice staff. Prices are fair. The low rating is for the patrons it's full of... All under 21 almost every night. Seems like they cater to the under 21 crowd which is strange for a bar. They charge a cover when there's a live band which is fine but I feel like I'm paying to cover all the underage people who can't drink. If you took all the underage age people out you would be left with 10 people there. Asking around, seems everyone is still frequenting the same places which is a let down since many people had high expectations for this place. read more

So I've been here several times and had pretty dismal experiences thus far. However this past friday the husband and I were looking for something to mix it up, so we decided to give this place one last chance. What saved it for me was our bartender. Her name-tag said Chell, and while I am not sure if that is her real name or not, she was amazing! Fast service, she acted like there were 8 people in line behind us when it was only us, getting drinks out as fast as possible, and she was the sweetest bartender I've ever had. The DJ, "Double D," was super friendly, and much better than the young kid that was here last time we attended, and treated us like everyone else despite us being ... not as hip as the younger crowd, if you catch me. Overall the experience was much better and I think we will be less inclined to skip over this place when trying to figure out what to do on a Friday night from now on. read more

I went for the first time in two years to try it out again, and it was terrible. I was kicked out for being "drunk" mind you, I have an under 21 stamps. I was in the middle of the dance floor and a red headed man worker came up to me and said I had to leave. I asked why and he didn't give me an answer. I asked if it was because the way I was dancing (I'm a bad dancer) which is the only reason I could've think of for him to think i'm drunk. He didn't answer. I told him I'd leave and he just said "you're not in trouble" I was not drunk and he kicked me out. If you're going to kick someone out, please give a reason. I won't be going back after that incident. Accusing someone of something like that and kicking them out is absolutely disgusting and I hope your establishment will work on things like this. read more

Manager is a Jerk! I have been a good customer for several months. I tip well and am polite. After wearing the same hat dozens of times, I was told my fedora hat "didn't fit the Western style of the bar." This in spite of the dance and rap music they play every hour. I give the Wild West a three star rating because of the service. The service was slow. The dance floor is great and I love the seating especially the seating up above. The problem is they just don't have enough help. Also the mix of hip hop and country was interesting. I'm not saying I didn't like it but I'm not sure that would be for everyone. I think it would be really great to have one night for hip hop music and another night for country. I think this place has great potential. Free dance lessons are really nice too. Its just like the rest of bars and restaurants across the nation the service leaves something to be desired. You're only paying these people a little over $2 an hour so put some more on the floor you can afford it. The many times I've been there I see the same people every time. This is really good on one hand because you have a great regular customer base. I also hear a lot of people that go there once and they don't go back. I'm not quite sure why that is. Went on Saturday evening. Sevice is was the worst I've ever seen.When we first got there there may have been 15 people there , no waitress. We go to the bar she is standing there. Compared to Grahams this place is awesome! They play mostly country with some other genres in there but all in all a good place. As a severe asthmatic I cant stand cigarette smoke, but its a smoke free place except outside on the patio which is great! Small dance floor but still a good place to go. PLEASE BE WARE OF THIS VENUE THEY FALSELY ACCUSED ME OF STEALING, TOOK MONEY FROM ME THEN KICKED ME OUT. No, this is not a Country song, nor a joke. I'm sharing my story in hopes to stop this from happening to anyone else, but please think twice before stepping foot inside this venue. My husband, brother-in-law and I went to see Turnpike Troubadours here on a Thursday night. My brother-in-law doesn't drink so my husband and I were able to let loose and have some fun. As the show was coming to an end we closed out our tap and a few minutes later our bill arrived, I thought it was rather high considering there were only two of us having drinks, but I signed for my bill and set the book down on the counter. The waitress picked up the book minutes later, then returned with 5-6 security guards. When my husband and I turned around, the waitress yelled at us, "$30 is missing from my book and you took it b/c you were the last one to have it." Confused and angered by this false accusation, my husband and I immediately turned our pockets inside out and I even offered to let the security guard look in my purse/wallet but he refused and instead said, "You better make this right!" Again, I explained that we didn't take the money, we have no need to especially since they have my credit card information. The security guard aggressively re-stated that we needed to make this right so my husband took out his wallet and gave them $30 and then they asked us to leave. In essence, we were falsely accused of stealing money, then the security manager forced us to replace the money, (so they basically stole from the customers), then kicked us out. Of course, we will never step foot in this place again, and I hope that others will be cautious about going to this venue as well. read more

the place itself is nice however my friends and I came from the rodeo last night and with purchase of the Rodeo tickets you get free admission to Wild West (we had purchase our tickets on Groupon and therefore we're using the mobile app). they turned us down for not having Paper Tickets you would think in a world where technology is major they would have been up to date on this and prepared to accept the Mobile tickets. we had to go back to the center in Acts random people for their paper ticket so we can get in. we thought maybe they scan the barcode in order to keep track so people don't duplicate tickets only to find out when we handed the girl are tickets for free entry she just put them in a bucket. ( these were tickets but people print it out of the computer, with the girl not looking at them we could have just gotten one ticket and copy it to a total of three times and no one would have ever known).. my advice to the people that run Wild West don't offer free admission if you can't accommodate all forms of ticket purchases and don't make such a big deal out of it when in the end you aren't even going to keep track of the paper tickets you let in.. read more
