Celebrated my birthday this past weekend and I had an amazing time! Surprised that this place has a mixed reviews. The service was great, dance lessons were free (women in free on Saturdays) and line dancing. We reserved a table for 10 and I expected fully to pay but they were super sweet and reserved it for free. They even asked me and recommended a table for my group since it was my first time there. All my friends had such a blast (we had about 20 people there) and a lot of us didn't have any previous line dancing experience. The front bouncer / security even made an exception for my best friend joining after the game bc it was my birthday celebration. I wish I remembered everyone's name bc they all deserved shout outs but overall 10/10 ambiance, 10/10 service and 10/10 DJ music. I was able to bring cookies and my friends brought chips and salsa and mini Bundt cakes. They're super lenient about bringing food bc they don't sell any. read more

this is my all time favorite bar and dance hall. i LOVE this place with my whole heart. mind you, i live in new braunfels and make the hour and a half commute to be able to make it every wednesday. the staff is amazing. all of the bouncers are so sweet, and all of the bartenders have been great with the few interactions i've had w them. i don't drink so i don't have much to contribute in that area. the overall vibe here is the BEST. i've been to a lot of dance halls, whether that be mavericks, gruene hall, etc., and the ambiance at wild will forever be so much better. other places feel like clubs, don't have great dancing, or people are very sociable. my experiences at wild people have always been so kind and are like family at this point. it's not too bright or too dark, they play great line dances and maintain balance for country dances and line dances. wild west has my heart and will forever be worth the drive and worth me adjusting any plans i have lol. for those complaining about no country music or not the vibe you were wanting: familiarize yourself with their calendar. if you're wanting to two step, go on a wednesday or a friday. if you're wanting mainly line dances, then saturdays aren't going to be up your alley. i will forever move mountains in my schedule to be able to make wild wednesdays lol. if it means i miss a day of a trip i don't care, i'll be there. i think yall get the gist. thank you wild for giving me the best memories and such amazing friendships read more

We advised Talia we were first timers and she immediately shared the two-step night lessons and line dancing lessons. Gave us the times and days, and advised we could look on the website. Very excited to take some free dance classes. Pool tables, TVs, outside, cornhole and smoking area with tables. Great music, lots of people dancing. I just visited the 'Wild West' in Cedar Park last night (7/19/2025), and my experience was quite poor. On the positive side, the staff truly stood out. The bartenders were incredibly nice and super helpful, especially when we were indecisive about our drink choices. Their patience and recommendations made a big difference. The lady who taught the dances in the beginning of the night was absolutely the best! She was excellent at understanding everyone's limitations and providing guidance on how to conquer them, making it a really enjoyable experience for all. I also noticed the bouncers doing a great job managing the crowd, effectively taking care of people who were being too rowdy and bothering others. Their presence ensured a more comfortable environment. However, the DJ was a significant detractor from the evening. The music variety really sucked; it felt like a high school dance with too many obscure country songs that left many people just standing around. Where is the country music everyone knows like 80s, 90s, or even 00s? I wish there had been more mainstream hits to encourage dancing and fewer line dance songs that excluded new arrivals who hadn't learned them earlier. Slow songs were also notably absent, and the overall music selection rarely ventured into hip-hop or pop which is fine but didn't feel inclusive. Plus, he doesn't even take requests, not even for a fee. Most concerning, however, was the somewhat 30-year-old (maybe pushing 40) DJ's highly inappropriate behavior. He was seen approaching young girls, visibly under the age (identified by the 'T' logo on their hands), bothering them and being handsy, making some visibly uncomfortable. I witnessed one instance where a girl was clearly disgusted by his approach and forced herself onto the dance floor to avoid him. It also appeared he had some girls under his influence, as they were following him around and asking him for things. This kind of behavior which resemble acts of a "pedophile" is unacceptable and made the environment feel super unsafe. Overall, while the service staff were excellent, the DJ's poor music selection and, more critically, his deeply concerning conduct, severely impacted the experience. I believe he does not need to be there. This place was one of my favorites. If it wasn't for the DJ, the night would've been a good one, if not great. I don't think I will be back if he is going to be the DJ from this point on. read more

Brought my wife here for her birthday to go country dancing all night the bartender staff was really friendly and overall I can say everybody there was great. ATM was broke so the manager let us play a game of pool for free which I thought was pretty cool everybody here seems to try really hard to keep us happy. The Dancefloor has your classic sawdust so we can slide around the floor all night they have an outdoor patio if you're a smoker and also some games out there if you want to hang out outside overall I feel like it was a great place to have some cold drinks and a great night dancing! Came here for the first time last Wednesday for ladies night with my best friend. The ambiance was pretty cool. Lots of very young people though which kind of threw me off. Bartender was kind and friendly. Dance floor is pretty big. Only problem I encountered was an extremely drunk and super rude female DJ. Parents, BEWARE. This is the perfect environment to groom young girls as soon as they leave childhood. As soon as your teenager turns 18 they are no longer allowed to go to teen night and can only go to adult night. Here, older men look for young girls who just turned 18 to start grooming them, including the bouncers. There have been reports of the bouncers behaving inappropriately. The bouncer by the name of Jason (sometimes goes by Jay) had his hand down a girls pants while making out with her. I am not sure what the vetting process is when it comes to hiring their employees, but I would not allow my teenagers to go here. It seems parents are only feeding innocent girls to the wolves as soon as they turn 18. The older men are known to buy girls between the ages of 18 and 20 alcohol. read more

First time here last night, 8/18/23. Went with some friends from work and my brother. Had 1 beer, not tipsy whatsoever. Place was not busy at all on a Friday night. Some guy was talking with the bouncers and a under 21 guy..some obvious drama. We were glancing over there every now and again because they were right next to us. The guy starts randomly talking crap to my brother. I leaned over the table and told that guy "don't start talking crap over here. Don't start crap here." Nothing horrible. The bouncer, who was right there the ENTIRE time, starts yelling at me telling me "enough". I told the bouncer guy to turn around and tell the guy who started talking crap and that just fed his little ego more to keep yelling at me and then telling me to leave. The bouncers ego doesn't work well with men, only women. A little later, bouncer is chest bumping my shoulder while yelling in my ear. I seen him in another females face and yelling at her. Never saw him in a males face though...wonder why. They had cedar park police trespass like 20 people. Now I understand why their business was not busy on a Friday night. I had 2 beers on my tab when I closed out, it was a little of $9. I have the receipt. Got a charge for $25, which is a separate charge from the door charge. The bouncer at the door was cool, the girl charging the door charge was a little aggressive, but I shrugged that off. Bouncers have the small **** complex and feel big and bad to yell at women. Been here several times to dance and for good music. They consistently bring in great acts, from Kevin Fowler to Jason Boland (who we saw last night). Tickets are reasonable and it's typically best to purchase them online beforehand since they have sold out at some of the shows I've been to. Great dancing when the opening band is playing. It's typically too crowded to dance when the main act is on as people stand on the dance floor to watch. Drinks are reasonable and the bartenders are friendly. It's convenient that they have two bars on opposite sides of the venue so I'll go to one or the other depending on how busy they are. read more

Are your ostrich-skin boots collecting dust? Is you cowboy hat wondering why it's been in your closet for over a year? Need some Texas two-step and cheap beer? Check out Wild West! Although I have no check-ins, I have been here many times - during the week, weekends, you name it. Located close to 183A on 1431, tucked behind other businesses and a parking lot, is Wild West, a two-storyish country bar that has something going on almost every night. The dance floor is huge! Lots of space to explore. There are multiple bars and drink "stations" throughout, making it easy to always have a beer, cocktail, or shot in your hand. Pretty much always a cover. Some nights are ladies' night (like the bikini contest night!). There's also live music, andI believe there are even two-step classes they hold so you have an idea of what you're doing. Note: if you want to get better or even just learn country dancing, I recommend joining a dance studio. I did that when I first moved to Austin (GoDance), and that really accelerated by abilities to dance with people, but it also made me realize that you can only dance certain types of country dance to certain types of song tempos (like how salsa and bachata require different song tempos). It's worth it to learn...girls ask guys to dance in Texas, so be prepared! Drink prices are alright here. Usually around $2-3 for a beer, same for shots. I can't speak for the ladies' room, but the men's room is really big - lots of urinals and stalls, and NO bathroom attendant! This is always overlooked by people until there's a line out the door, and people making messes in the one stall or urinal (cough dallas night club). As the night goes on, the DJ will start to weave in some Top 40 and Pop music to satisfy non-country dancers. Line dances like The Wobble, Footloose, and Copper Head Road are also commonly played - so watch a YouTube video of them to get familiar. Good music , good dance floor , fun crowd..., the absolute WORST bar service I have ever had to deal with. I understand being busy but these bartenders could mot move any slower if they tried. No sense of urgency to keep the line moving at all. A Snails pace would be an improvement. On top of that when we FINALLY got to order, it appeared that we were an inconvenience to Molasses Mary and she basically treated us like a dog turd on her shoe. The stink she smelled was her attitude and job skills. Bottom line, drink ahead of time , when you finally get to order a drink, order all you can carry. We were told it was really busy , but why only one bar of 2 open and only 3 of 4 registers open on Saturday night, with a special event happening. SO - I confess that bars are really not my thing, in general. However, I do really enjoy live music. I went here on a Thursday night recently to enjoy a popular local country band. I have no complaints. At the door they were clearly checking ID's. The bouncer was visible but not angry looking. There was a wide age range of patrons and I enjoyed people watching. People seemed to be anywhere from young to old and plenty in the middle. I think you could enjoy this place at any adult age. (really especially the people watching - some of these folks can really dance. ) The place was clean. It did not smell like an ash tray or a urinal. There is an outdoor area with tables and chairs. It's two story inside with balconies around the dance floor so you can be in the lime light or if you just want to be alone with your date or a group it's easy to do so. There are tables and chairs both up and down. The stage was easily viewed from all over inside. The music and patron attire is mostly country - which is what one would expect from this theme of establishment. They could have skipped the other genres entirely as far as I'm concerned. Want another genre? There's a joint for that too..... The atmosphere was laid back and casual. Seemed like a nice enough crowd. Lots of dancing. People seemed to be having a good time. There did appear to be only one waitress for the entire club - but since I was there for the music it seemed enough to me. We had a good time. We enjoyed the band. Again, no complaints. It's great to be able to take in live music in a clean, non-trashy environment! I will go again without concern should the opportunity present itself. My wife and I went to Wild West a couple weeks ago to see Creed Fisher. Prior to attending I called to find out about the seating situation and where I my better like to sit. The person on the phone was very informative and helpful. I was able to get tickets that were best for me. The night of the show staff at the entrance was friendly and the first bartender I came across Amber was great. She was friendly and remembered what I drank and half way through the night remembered my name. Drink prices were unbeatable, I expected a huge bill at the end of the night and was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the drink prices were even for a concert situation. I'm a lifelong Texas girl, but I did not grow up listening to country music, in fact I hated it, growing up. Recently, though, that all changed. Two of my dear friends are frequent two-steppers and in my post divorce second act, I'm making it a point to try new things, so I decided to give country dancing a try. What do you know, I love it!! I have been frequenting Wild West lately along with another club in Pflugerville. I prefer this one. I love the set up and I like the music they play. There are a ton of regulars who'll ask you to dance and the more you say yes, the more folks will ask. The other nice thing is that I never feel that they are hitting on me, just wanting to dance, which at age 46, is all I'm after. The drinks are reasonably priced and I have a great time, every time. I have also taken the free dance lesson which was a lot of fun and very helpful. If I had one complaint, it would be that they break away from country too often. All country dance halls do this and I'd be fine with one or two songs, but it seems to be really frequent and for a long period. I would not recommend this place to any reasonable adult. Problems started upon arrival. Tickets, Facebook, and venue and artist websites all said music starts at 10. We arrived at 915 to find the opener 3/4 through his set. We shrugged it off and waited for the headliner. All was well and we were enjoying the show until one of the bouncers approached us and asked my wife to leave. When asked why, he got argumentative. After a brief argument explaining that he had the wrong people, he relented and asked another staff member, who informed him that he approached the wrong person. Apparently a blond woman had tried to grab the headliner. The bouncer has no idea who the offender was, so the just decided to try to throw out a random blond. After the show, I spoke with the manager about this, we was not very polite and refused to accept responsibility for his employee and his actions. read more

The atmosphere is ridiculous. I hear more rap music than country, which is terrible considering it's a country bar and dance hall. Aside from this, I've been charged $25 every time I use my card. It's happened 3 times now. No one answers when I try calling them to get it fixed and no one has answered my messages yet. I thought the first time might have been a mistake and I forgot about it. The second and third time I have not received anything back from them. I know for sure I don't spend $25 there considering I have one, maybe two drinks at $3.50 each. Finally, the people there are just plain rude. The bartenders are okay, but the group of people that go there, I really don't want to ever go back. Friday night review: Boring. Dance lessons. Lots of elderly folks (not that I care). Not a lot of country after the lessons. Bunch of rap and hip hop. My buddy and I were approached while standing at the bar by someone I presume was staff. He told us we can't wear our baseball caps backwards. After obliging with no issue and a couple of hours and money spent, we made our exit. On the way out, I asked the girl at the front why the baseball hat rule. She said "safety issue." At this time, some guy steps up and says "we're a private establishment we can do what we want." Kind of amusing, especially since I wasn't being confrontational. As someone who has been to bars and honky tonks all around the world, I've never once been told I can't wear a baseball hat backwards.
