This is HANDS DOWN my favorite taco truck in Austin. Their chicken tacos and breakfast tacos are delicious. If you're looking for some actual spice, their salsa has a bit of a real kick that I can't find many places in Austin!! The lady that works there is always nice. Sometimes you may wait 15 mins for your food around lunchtime but IT'S WORTH IT!! Wait. Nothing but great things to say about this place, I take everyone that visits here and it never disappoints. I love the tacos at Wild Taco. They are a bit small but delicious and appropriately priced, so you can try several at each visit. The folks who run the business are friendly, and the service is prompt, so it's a good place to grab lunch when you're in a hurry. read more

Bring cash. There are way better tacos in town (taco deli, for instance), but this taco stand is the real deal (if you happen to be Mexican) and serves made to order, hot, delicious food at great prices. Wild Taco is based at the Bungalow on Rainey Street these days. That's nice work if you can get it, because starved crowds at bars are not too fussy about food quality. There are romantic things that should not be done with someone too drunk to make good decisions. There are culinary things that should not be served to someone too drunk to be aware of what they are putting in their mouth. Fortunately, Wild Taco is ethical and is a responsible caretaker here. If you are looking for not-so-responsible food trucks that serve mediocre fare to patrons too plowed to know better, you can start your search on Red River between Sixth and Eighth. You won't have to go very far. Back on Rainey Street, Wild Tacos' is taking good care of its patrons. Its tacos are are absolutely filled to the gills. The cooked ingredients that go into those tacos are first rate. (I had the beef fajitas.) They have a very nifty green jalapeno sauce you can put on top. Wild Taco's tacos are expensive, but so are the drinks at the Bungalow. If you are at the Bungalow anyway, you have already decided to give your wallet a bath. At least at Wild Taco you can eat well. Honestly would give zero stars if I could. Absolutely terrible experience / service with a sour lady rudely trying to jam my card through her POS system. She somehow ends up getting mad at me because her card reader couldn't work? Then she refuses to take my order unless I pay in cash? Would NOT recommend. There are better places nearby. read more

Beyond annoyed. I asked if they would sub beans instead of cheese in the potato, egg, and cheese taco and they politely said yes. I paid extra to accommodate but that was fine. I decided to order on flour as I find out neither the flour nor corn are made in house (which is fine). I get to the office and open up my tacos and it's loaded with cheese and it's on a corn tortilla. I was the ONLY person there!! The tacos here are pretty good but nothing too special - I can say I've had better breakfast tacos, but they are viable. I tried the sausage, egg and cheese as well as a migas with cheese taco. Both are nice, plump tacos. The eggs are not very uniform here, the whites and egg yolks looking a bit distinct, which I personally don't like in my tacos. There's not that much flavor in the fillings either compared to other places. What is really good here though is the pastor. I don't know how I feel about eating pastor for breakfast, but I know it is darn good, greasy and you won't care about that fact. Could eat that all day. For the salsa lovers, this place has some fireballing hot salsa, so be careful how much you use. It has a weird sweet profile to it too that doesn't really alleviate the burn. read more

Got some Wild Tacos behind Bungalow on a Tuesday night. Can't beat 3 bucks a taco/fajita when they're this delicious. Ordered the chicken fajita on flour and pastor taco on corn, gf got the beef fajita and pastor taco, both on corn. They were all perfect. Just the right amount of onion and cilantro, and their salsa is spicy and flavorful enough to leave an impression, but not enough to overwhelm the Tacos. A+. These guys nailed it. read more

Mexican street tacos from a trailer in the convenience store parking lot. I took the gaggle of pickup trucks with yard crews in the lot as a good sign. I tried the Pastor and the Barbacoa. Both came with salsa verde, fresh lime wedge, chopped onions and cilantro. Nice heat to the salsa verde. Service was fast, and the food was quite good. I'll definitely go back to try the other types of tacos. Update on visit #2: breakfast tacos also very good. Had the migas&cheese on corn with red salsa. Takes phone orders for pickup. read more

Moving back to the 31 has so many nice surprises and joys but this trailer is NOT one of them. $2.50 a taco for 2 ingredients (3 if you're lucky) with a huge up charge for any extra ingredient plus credit card fee can cost you over $4 for a micro-taco - even if you get 5 tacos. Really great breakfast tacos. There is a menu, but basically you can get any variation (bean, potato, cheese, bacon, etc.) and pay by the number of ingredients. I always get corn tortillas, and they can vary - but Wild Taco's were great - soft and pliable - although not homemade. Even better, they give you two rather than one tortilla per taco, which used to be the standard convention around town but which is sadly becoming less and less common. (Hear me, TacoDeli?) For anyone heading from the city out 2222, this is a super-convenient place to pull over and grab some cheap and delicious tacos. Speed varies depending on how many people are in line in front of you. I drive by every weekday morning, and I typically see 1-2 people hanging around waiting. I was traveling through Austin and found this by accident. It's a small food truck at an Exxon gas station. I ordered two tacos al pastor with cilantro, onions and homemade hot sauce. It was excellent. The price was ok I paid 5 bucks. They were very quick and I was on my way within 10 mins. Too bad I'm not from the area I would go there often. Good place, I'd give it a 9/10. Staff was friendly and most tacos were $2.50, and they tasted good. I really liked their miga and cheese, as well as the egg and cheese taco. They asked me to wait five minutes, not a big deal, but if you want to "grab and go", you'll need to allow at least five minutes. read more

I live in the neighborhood. And am a regular there, so much so that I get asked why I haven't been coming if I don't show up for a couple of weeks. The tacos I regularly order are the potato and chorizo (it's just wrong how yummy these are), Pastor, Egg-potato-cheese and Migas. These are all made fresh in front of you and served with a spicy spicy salsa. I've never been disappointed. We've also had them do some big orders for a brunch party at home. And they were prompt with the order. They don't deliver orders but are happy to get bigger orders. read more

I have come here twice now. I had the migas taco and the bacon egg and cheese taco. Both were really delicious. My only complaint was that there is a bit of a wait since they are cooked to order and there is no shade to stand under. So during the summer hot summer you can either stand in the hot sun or get back in your car and wait with the AC on. read more
