This was my first time in Alaska, and I heard really great things about this ice cream shop so of course I had to try it out. I am following a plant-based diet, and have been for a really long time. So I was really excited when I saw that they had vegan options for choices. This location only had vegan cake batter, which was fine because it was delicious! I just feel like, and maybe this is because I'm a hackling dairy free person LMAO but I really feel like there should be at least three options for vegan people when going to an ice cream shop. A chocolate, a sorbet, and another one. Granted this was a smaller shop. But honestly it was still really good I cannot lie The waffle cone was so good, and of course I had to get the baked Alaska on top of my ice cream. Such great flavor, and it wasn't too heavy, this probably being that they mix two choices of plant-based milks when they do their formula for their vegan ice cream. I really enjoyed it. So much so that I went to the second location in Anchorage on the same day. I was really glad that both locations gave me the same experience. It seems like everyone who works there really like each other and that makes for a great customer experience in my opinion. 10 out of 10 would recommend, and dead. Sooooo is this the best ice cream I ever had? No. Is this the best ice cream available in Anchorage? More than likely yes. My wife had the Pilot's Life for Me which she enjoyed and I had the Fruity Pebbles, which I mostly enjoyed. I love love love Fruity Pebbles ok. The flavor of the ice cream was great. The only issue I had was the texture of the frozen sogged out Fruity Pebbles in the ice cream. It was tough and chewy. When I was eating the ice cream, it felt like I was chewing on little tough pieces of rope. During the train ride from Anchorage to Denali, our conductor mentioned trying Fireweed ice cream at least once. We made that a mission before leaving Alaska. We had Fireweed Frapp at a Starbucks in Denali, even though it was very pretty it was made with vanilla bean and pink dragon fruit. Thanks to Yelpers we found Wild Scoop in Downtown Anchorage. The flavors are unique and delicious!  The Fireweed was very light and the Sitka Swirl is like salted caramel. We got it in a waffle cone baked Alaska style - which is toasted marshmallow on top. I'm always on the lookout for businesses that showcase their local areas, and Wild Scoops definitely does that; their ice cream offerings are about as "Alaska" as you can get. First of all, they have a ton of Alaska-inspired flavors, most of which source ingredients from around Anchorage (like local honey, sea salt, blueberries, and even locally-roasted coffee). They incorporate these ingredients into a number of both regular and non-dairy (usually vegan) ice creams and other treats. I really enjoyed both of the flavors I tried, especially the blueberry ice cream. Additionally, they offer a number of toppings, including a MUST-TRY "Baked Alaska" topper (I can't reiterate enough how delicious this was). Service was friendly, but be prepared to wait in line, especially on nice days. This is only a takeout window, so you will have to find somewhere to eat your ice cream, but the park across the street is nice for that. Definitely a must-visit while in Anchorage! read more

I came here last month to try the Baked Alaska top option and it did not disappoint. I love the warm welcome we received from staff members and their patience as I sampled flavors to make my cone selection. I ended up with the pandan flavor and ube. The pandan flavor tastes like vanilla and was not overly sweet. The cone was crispy and fresh. The baked Alaska top is not always consistent. I came here two days in a row because it was so good on my first try. The second time the marshmallow fluff was a bit too over done that it tasted a bit burnt. Wow, this ice cream was amazing. I'd read the reviews and was already looking forward to it so was happy to find that it lived up to the hype! I got a scoop of White Raven (sweet cream base with Oreos) in a waffle cone - so good! There were lots of large chunks of Oreos that were soft and added the perfect amount of chocolate and texture to the sweet cream base. Best thing about the ice cream was that it wasn't too sweet so it didn't feel very heavy. The waffle cone was also really good - had a hint of cinnamon and star anise. Even better, it was their birthday the day we went so they were giving out $2 scoops. Can't get better than that.
