Came here because of all the great reviews and it did not disappoint! I had the sea salt caramel flavor with the torched marshmallow fluff. I would put that topper on anything it was so so good. Just a walk up window, so no seating available. Also, service was pretty slow, with only one couple in front of me I waited about 5 minutes for my cone. read more

Yes, its that good. Well worth the wait in line. Passes my "vanilla" test; if vanilla is creamy with solid vanilla flavor, almost always every flavor is good. Chocolate was great. Spruce Tips (which, freshly picked, became a staple snack on hikes) was very good. Every flavor we had on our multiple visits was enjoyed. read more

The off-trail chocolate flavor is awesome! Yummy! Highly recommend this shop. The best ice cream place in Anchorage

I would give the Fireweed ice cream in a waffle cone 10 stars if possible! Do not miss this spot if you are in Anchorage!

Wow was in anchorage for like 5 days and got ice cream here like 3 out of the 5 days! The Fireweed icecream!!! Yum! A sizable scoop and fast window service. It's everything an ice cream place should be! read more

Love this place every time we come! Such unique flavors, many of the flavors are exclusive to Alaska, you won't find anywhere else! You're able to ask for samples of any kind of the ice cream choices they have. The people working there are always so sweet! We try to go in the middle of the day because it can get busy around dinner time, but if you get there when it's quiet, it's so relaxing and absolutely wonderful! read more

Definitely get your waffle cone "baked Alaska style" aka melted marshmallow on top of your ice cream. Walk up with no line the majority of the time. Had live music when we were there so it was a nice place to stand and have an ice cream cone after dinner. Right beside 49th state brewing. Would 100% recommend read more

Wild Scoops is an excellent source for your hand crafted ice cream when visiting Anchorage. I visited the little street side walk up operation next to the convention center several times when I was in town. There is no seating at this location, so just grab and go. They have a relatively small menu, but make up with unique and delicious flavors. I tried several flavors, and they all tasted excellent to me! read more

Sooooo is this the best ice cream I ever had? No. Is this the best ice cream available in Anchorage? More than likely yes. My wife had the Pilot's Life for Me which she enjoyed and I had the Fruity Pebbles, which I mostly enjoyed. I love love love Fruity Pebbles ok. The flavor of the ice cream was great. The only issue I had was the texture of the frozen sogged out Fruity Pebbles in the ice cream. It was tough and chewy. When I was eating the ice cream, it felt like I was chewing on little tough pieces of rope. Now look, if you are in Anchorage and have a hankering for some ice cream and pass Wild Scoops and the line isn't very long at all, by all means help yourself and enjoy. But if the line is long or this is out of the way, you'll be ok to come back another time :) read more

My favorite ice cream shop of all time. You have to try the baked alaska cone--the combination of toasty marshmallow with the creamy ice cream is beyond amazing. Yummy vegan options as well like the Dreamwich ice cream sandwich. Fun and bright vibes and friendly service! read more

This was my first time in Alaska, and I heard really great things about this ice cream shop so of course I had to try it out. I am following a plant-based diet, and have been for a really long time. So I was really excited when I saw that they had vegan options for choices. This location only had vegan cake batter, which was fine because it was delicious! I just feel like, and maybe this is because I'm a hackling dairy free person LMAO but I really feel like there should be at least three options for vegan people when going to an ice cream shop. A chocolate, a sorbet, and another one. Granted this was a smaller shop. But honestly it was still really good I cannot lie The waffle cone was so good, and of course I had to get the baked Alaska on top of my ice cream. Such great flavor, and it wasn't too heavy, this probably being that they mix two choices of plant-based milks when they do their formula for their vegan ice cream. I really enjoyed it. So much so that I went to the second location in Anchorage on the same day. I was really glad that both locations gave me the same experience. It seems like everyone who works there really like each other and that makes for a great customer experience in my opinion. 10 out of 10 would recommend, and dead. My friend went to Anchorage three days ago and of course I had to recommend wild scoops to her. She loved it. I am I'm excited to return on my next trip to Anchorage and look forward to baked Alaska on my ice cream! read more

I wanted ice cream and found Wild Scoops after a quick search, it wasn't far from where we were. There was a long line and a good 30+ min wait to get to the window to order. I got Chocolate and White Raven in a waffle cone. It was good ice cream, not the best I have ever had but it's worth the wait in line. read more

Rotating menu of fresh, local flavours. Loved the rhubarb almond cookie the most. It was a delicious combination of ingredients and would highly recommend. Also really liked the fireweed! Light floral notes with a touch of sweetness. Cashiers were super friendly and allowed us to taste some flavours too. The mouthfeel was a little icy for some of the vegan flavours but give them a try if that's your thing! read more

It's impossible to NOT give this place five stars. - - Impeccable service. Friendly. It's like they actually enjoy working here. - - Smooth operation. They have a flow and speed that is consistent, but doesn't take away from the quality. - - Super tasty morsels of delicious cream. Seriously, this is why you came, right? Great ice cream. I think I noticed their menu says the have ice cream nachos. That sounds dangerous. There will always be a line. Don't let that scare you away. It will move quickly. Take the opportunity to talk to people in line. Most people waiting for ice cream seem to be in a good mood. They have samples; make sure to ask if you're leery about a flavor like "fireweed." read more

OMG this spot definitely lands near the top of my all-time favorite dessert spots! We stopped in twice and were able to try a good sampling of flavors - spruce tip, white raven (Oreo), pilots life, blueberry, almond jam cookie, s'mores, and Sitka swirl. Our favorites were pilots life, almond jam cookie, and spruce tip! The ice creams all tasted great, but the toasted marshmallow topping and crisp, cinnamon-y waffle cone are perfect complements! I highly recommend this spot and it will be one of my first stops when I come back! read more

During the train ride from Anchorage to Denali, our conductor mentioned trying Fireweed ice cream at least once. We made that a mission before leaving Alaska. We had Fireweed Frapp at a Starbucks in Denali, even though it was very pretty it was made with vanilla bean and pink dragon fruit. Thanks to Yelpers we found Wild Scoop in Downtown Anchorage. The flavors are unique and delicious!  The Fireweed was very light and the Sitka Swirl is like salted caramel. We got it in a waffle cone baked Alaska style - which is toasted marshmallow on top. I did not know I needed that in my life and now I probably can never go back. lol Too bad it was our last day in Anchorage because I really wanted to try the ice cream nachos too! Thank you also for encouraging customers to wear a face mask while ordering. read more

Came here with the kids and got the 4 scoop flight with blueberry, rhubarb, lemon and salted caramel. Although I normally am a chocolate/coffee/nut flavor fan, these fruit flavors were really good! We got two regular scoops of chocolate ice cream, one with the shitty marshmallow burnt on it, and it came out to $14, I was flabbergasted, and the girl so confidently said oh it's just Alaska, in a very rude tone, I told her no it's not Alaska it's you guys, selling shitty overpriced ice cream, definitely won't be going again read more

I'm always on the lookout for businesses that showcase their local areas, and Wild Scoops definitely does that; their ice cream offerings are about as "Alaska" as you can get. First of all, they have a ton of Alaska-inspired flavors, most of which source ingredients from around Anchorage (like local honey, sea salt, blueberries, and even locally-roasted coffee). They incorporate these ingredients into a number of both regular and non-dairy (usually vegan) ice creams and other treats. I really enjoyed both of the flavors I tried, especially the blueberry ice cream. Additionally, they offer a number of toppings, including a MUST-TRY "Baked Alaska" topper (I can't reiterate enough how delicious this was). Service was friendly, but be prepared to wait in line, especially on nice days. This is only a takeout window, so you will have to find somewhere to eat your ice cream, but the park across the street is nice for that. Definitely a must-visit while in Anchorage! read more

I came here last month to try the Baked Alaska top option and it did not disappoint. I love the warm welcome we received from staff members and their patience as I sampled flavors to make my cone selection. I ended up with the pandan flavor and ube. The pandan flavor tastes like vanilla and was not overly sweet. The cone was crispy and fresh. The baked Alaska top is not always consistent. I came here two days in a row because it was so good on my first try. The second time the marshmallow fluff was a bit too over done that it tasted a bit burnt. I took a picture of both cones for a visual. I would definitely come back if I am ever in Alaska again. read more

The best part about Wild Scoops is the Baked Alaska topping. A friend recommended that we come here and get a Baked Alaska ice cream, if we could. We'd post a photo, but it looks like every other Baked Alaska topping photo. There were some interesting flavor options. I tried a taster of the spruce tips. It ... tasted like spruce tips. While it's an interesting flavor, I'm not sure that I want an entire ice cream cone of it, but I appreciate having a taste. We went with the Mango Malasada, which was quite nice. The line was quite short (1 person) when we arrived. It was a cooler day, but in Colorado, Josh and Johns has an ice cream-o-meter card where we get more punches for buying ice cream as it gets colder/snowing, so cool weather says GET ICE CREAM! There's nowhere to sit nearby, but there are some lovely painted trash cans in downtown Anchorage. It's downtown. There are Pokestops nearby. read more

I love local shops and this is no different. For starters there isn't an indoor area- it's just a walk up window. The flavors are local and sounded delicious. I tried a sample of the black coffee and it was delicious. I was gonna get that and made a last minute game time decision and got the Sitka swirl. Great decision; however, I tried the lemon as well and wish I would've gotten that. No worries I'll be back for the lemon later. read more

We both had the Sitka swirl. It's ice cream base with salted caramel and Alaskan sea salt. We both had one scoop sugar cones and the scoop was generous. We loved the ice cream. We had seen a couple on a YouTube channel endorsing the place and decided to give it a try. We're glad we did. read more

We were in almost freezing Alaska at the beginning of October but did not hesitate to visit Wild Scoops when suggested by a friend as "best ice cream in Anchorage". Now I didn't have time to visit another ice cream parlor to compare, but Wild Scoop's Wild Blueberry flavor is a true winner.
