Delicious ice cream at a decent cost. Wild blueberries flavor was good, vanilla flavor is one of the best vanillas I've tried, and POG flavor is so refreshing. The baked Alaska is a bit on the heavy side but a treat for the eyes and mouth.

This place is right next to the 49th state brewing which is super convenient. It has little cute tables outside where you go up and order whatever it is that you would like my friends and I got a priority of things and we all absolutely loved it. It was freshly made and not overpowering with any flavor. Everything was amazing hands-down one of the best ice cream we have had in a long time. Just take a look at the pictures and you will see how delicious everything looks. The service is super fast and very easy to communicate. You can even get samples before deciding on what you would like. Will definitely be back to this place.

Great spot for dessert after dinner at the 49th Street Brewery. I had the Rhubarb Crumble Baked Alaska ($11.25) and it was delicious. This outdoor location has picnic tables and live music in the evening.

Baked Alaska topping - too sweet for me, but so cute!

This was so cute! Down the stairs by 49th State Brewing, I loved the ice cream here. I got the s'mores flavor in a cone, and the cookies and cream flavor was also really good when I sampled it. Really high quality, good variety, and reasonable prices. I didn't love the Baked Alaska topping (way too sweet! and I love sweet things), but it was so photogenic, and I loved that it was so quick and made to order. Friendly staff, too.

Quick ice cream at the 49th State Brewhouse outdoors area. Tasty local dessert. Plenty of outdoors seating. We got a scoop of campfire. The graham cracker mix in were a good complement to the ice cream!

Such a cute place and there are a few locations. Service was good and quick Ice cream was very good. I decided to go with the Wild Blueberry because a tour guide informed me that they grow all their blueberries in the state so they are fresh and specific to Alaska berries! It was quite good (and I'm a chocolate-fan). My boyfriend got the Sitka Swirl which comes with the Baked Alaska. The torched marshmallow fluff was delicious and it's apparently home made.

Wild scoops is a must-visit ice cream shop in Downtown Anchorage, and this is their new "pop-up" location in 49th State Brewing's beer garden (yay, beer and ice cream!). Their flavor selection is awesome; most flavors use local ingredients that are in season (like Alaskan blueberries). They also always have a couple dairy-free flavors on tap, including (usually) a sorbet and a non-dairy ice cream. Their signature feature is their "Baked Alaska" topping, which is a MUST TRY, it's so good that it's the baked Alaska by which I judge all others. FYI: if you are dairy free, the actual baked Alaska does not have any dairy in it, but the cone does. There's lots of seating in the beer garden!

A Pilots Life for Me ice cream, Baked Alaska style.

Great ice cream and wonderful ambiance. The ice cream is the same at all locations BUT the one downtown (next to 49th State) is special! It's outside and sometimes there's live music. It can be busy but the the servers work fast to get the orders done, even when you get your ice cream in the "Baked Alaska" vessel (brûléed marshmallow fluff piped on top of your choice of ice cream in a waffle cone) What's not to love?

It goes without saying that Wild Scoops has always been my favorite Alaskan made ice cream. I was so excited when we were out walking downtown and discovered they have opened ANOTHER location with tables outside the backside of 49th State Brewing. This is a wonderful addition to downtown tucked in a quiet spot. All the great flavors without the hassle of being on a busy street. Love it!

That was some great ice cream! You need to go here if you are in Anchorage and get your self a waffle cone.

    So good!

I went a few months ago and they still were making a hole in the middle of the ice cream which…read morestill completely upset me lol BUT I WENT TONIGHT BEFORE THEY CLOSED!!!! LADIES AND GENTLEMAN!!! no hole in the middle of the ice cream!! Just PURE ICE CREAM THROUGHOUT THE CUP!!!! I can't express how happy I was so scoop into it and see there was no hole!!! Loved it!!!!! And the ladies tonight, they were wonderful!! (Sorry! No photo...I devoured it so fast!!!)

Taiyaki is a delicious Japanese street food. A fish shaped pastry stuffed with filling like read…read morebean paste & custard. In the warmer months the taiyaki are also stuffed with soft serve ice cream. This street food has become popular in the USA with dedicated taiyaki ice cream spots popping up, and we finally have a shop in Alaska that serves this delectable treat. Softer opened at the end of December in the Diamond center food court. I went to check them out in February, and the taiyaki were fresh, crispy, and had a decent amount of filling. Now the taiyaki wasn't the same consistency as the ones I had in Japan, but it's not really fair to compare things in Alaska to their country of origin. The texture wasn't 100% correct, but it was pretty nicely crispy, and not overly chewy. I had heard from a few other people that when they went the texture wasn't correct & too chewy so consistency may be a bit of an issue, but they are a new business to that can be rectified. The soft serve ice cream was also very good. I ordered 2 "upside down" Taiyaki ice creams which comes with choice of 2 toppings. You can just order a Taiyaki filled with ice cream which doesn't come on a cup, or the Taiyaki pastry on its own without ice cream. If you're not feeling the Taiyaki you can also just get the soft serve ice cream, a milkshake, or a snow bowl (this looks like a variation of bingsu). I ordered chocolate soft serve with a Nutella filled Taiyaki topped with sprinkles, and a matcha/chocolate swirl soft serve with an ube filled Taiyaki topped with Oreo & graham cracker crumbs. The portion size on the soft serve was good for the price ($7). The chocolate ice cream was standard chocolate soft serve, but I really liked the Nutella taiyaki. The matcha ice cream actually had a strong, and not overly artificial matcha tea flavor. Next time I won't get it swirled with chocolate as the chocolate overpowered the matcha. I don't know if I'd get the ube filled taiyaki again. The ube filling was pretty artificial so it's not my preference. The toppings were also fairly sparse, but that doesn't really matter to me. Overall it's a great treat. Service was quick when we went. There was no line, and you just order at a kiosk & the person makes what you order. It's located right in the mall food court by the ice rink so if you're looking for ambiance it's not really going to be this place. I definitely will be back to get some Taiyaki ice cream again, and maybe try their snow bowls. Excited to have something different in Anchorage! This place is definitely a good spot next time you want some soft serve ice cream.
