So darn good, we ended up going both days we were visiting Anchorage! They have a variety of local flavors like wild blueberry, fireweed, spruce tips, and more as the seasons change. One of my favorite things was the option to get your scoop with "baked Alaska" - aka torched marshmallow fluff on top. It was so tasty and fun! The waffle cones also have a touch of cinnamon in them which was a nice surprise.
Fantastic ice cream and I'm devastated that I won't be able to get it again for the foreseeable future, as I was in Alaska on a work trip. I'm not ashamed to say I came a lot the week I was visiting Anchorage. No seating, and you order outside at the counter. I tried Sitka Swirl and Sunshine Club. They were both delicious - not too sweet, and great creamy texture - not icy. Their homemade caramel that's in the Sitka Swirl is phenomenal. It might be for the best that they're not located in California, because I would get their ice cream way too much. Sunshine Club has homemade lemon curd, which was fantastic and tart. It's combined with snickerdoodles and is such an indulgent treat. It would be even nicer if they had indoor seating, but alas. Highly recommend - fantastic.
Located in downtown Anchorage. A good place to stop for a treat. I had the rhubarb crumble. It was pretty sweet, but hit the spot on a hot day. The ice cream had a cinnamon taste to it. We ordered at the window and were immediately given our ice cream. The staff working the window were friendly. They have different size ice cream options and you can get it in a cup or a cone. They also have some other ice cream treats.
This place is bumpin!! I got the Rhubarb crumb ice cream and it is BOMB. Because it's so busy, it's hard to hear when your order is called out so make sure your ears are turned on!
Delicious!!! Some of these tourists spots are overpriced, but this is actually worth it! My only complaint is there's no good parking, it's nice if you're already walking through town but don't expect to easily just drive there and pick it up real quick Park in the lots and spend some time walking the streets enjoying your dessert ;)
Amazing ice cream in Anchorage. We stopped on our way from a cruise. Kids tried POG, Chocolate flavors. They liked them. We tried wildwood and blueberry flavors. All excellent. Highly recommend.
As whelmed as I was by my Campfire Smores flavored Ice cream from the Box Container stall outside 49th state brewing, mywife loved her vegan flavor. I did too. So much, we went back the next night to their more downtown location, where she got the same thing and I got the rhubarb crumble before walking back to our AirBNB. Both were amazing. Highly recommend if you're in anchorage
This is a walk-up corner of heaven. Baked Alaska ice cream cones are divine! The ice cream is quality, the cones are crispy, and who doesn't love toasted marshmallow cream? Since it's a walk-up, the vibe is very summer, friendly, and welcoming. Service is as fast as the line allows. Worth it!
Arrived in the Land of the Midnight Sun right in time for the summer solstice where I am experiencing literally the longest day of the year. Sun rose at 4:21am and is suppose to set at 11:41pm in Anchorage. However, it doesn't truly get dark as twilight lingers for hours. What screams summer more than us screaming for ice cream for handcrafted Alaskan Wild Blueberry ice cream made from Wild AK blueberries after a walk on the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail.
Yumm!!! They have some interesting flavors! I got to visit this place twice during my trip in Alaska and I like how the flavors also rotate. I tried the white raven which was similar to a cookies and cream and then I also tried the Sitka swirl which was really good with the caramel and sea salt! Make sure you try this spot if you're visiting Alaska!
Heard about this place online & reviews were amazing so we decided to check it out & it was delicious!! Different homemade flavors & options like the baked Alaska (fired Marshmallow cream on top). A must try!
We visited Wild Scoops twice during our two days in Anchorage, so I guess that review speaks for itself. Our first visit was to the E Street walk-up. It looks like maybe it once was a walk-in, but this current setup works. The line was a few people deep but moved fast. I had a double scoop in a cup - the Wild Blueberry and Campfire (think s'mores ingredients). The Blueberry was smooth and delicious, and the Campfire was full of nibs and chunks. Also delicious and I'd have a hard time saying which I liked better. A double scoop is $8. Add $3.25 more and upgrade to "Baked Alaska-style," which is your scoops in a waffle cone with a toasted marshmallow topping. My daughter would like you to know that you won't regret it.
Long line but quick service! The marshmallow topping was so delicious and the ice cream was creamy.

Wild Scoops is awesome!! One of the best ice creams I've ever had. The staff was super helpful in explaining the different flavors and what we should try and they nailed it! read more
All I need to say is that my wife and kids absolutely loved this place and could not wait to go back. They love Ice Cream. I do too but I resist the temptation and I was able to the second night though when my wife let me try the Sitka swirl I was kinda regretting it. Very good place go check it out if you are in downtown Anchorage or I understand they have one in midtown as well. read more
Great location downtown; small location; definitely worth the wait in the line down the street! Offering made in-house ice cream with changing flavors; ask for baked Alaskan style. The waffle cone was light and crispy. Delicious!! read more

I thought it was going to be another little ice cream shop. It's WAY more. Every single flavor is gourmet and they have a certain ice cream cone called a baked Alaska cone which tops your ice cream cone with toasted marshmallow fluff. Absolutely delicious and totally worth the wait. read more

This is, no kidding, the BEST ice cream that I've EVER had in my ENTIRE life!!! We have been twice since being in town. The tiny little shop in downtown was first. Last night we went out to the one in the shopping center. The portions were definitely bigger at the shopping center location. Couldn't finish it. Both times I had the frozen nachos, Sitka swirl, single scoop. I cannot tell y'all how AMAZING this ice cream is!! No exaggeration: BEST I'VE EVER HAD!!! read more

Made a point to stop here after our local friend suggested it. We checked out the Instagram page prior to coming to see what the flavors looked like and we were instantly intrigued by the unique combinations and good take on the classics. We walked up and there was a long line but it couldn't have taken longer than 5 mins to be served. The employees inside did a good job of moving people through while allowing the first person helped to try samples and find the right flavor. Once we picked our flavors we decided we both wanted to try two and got them in a waffle cone. I decided on a classic Oreo flavor with the second option of rhubarb crumble. The Oreo/white raven was simple, yet satisfying and was just a good classic. The rhubarb crumble was by far the better of the two though with big chunks of rhubarb and cookie type chunks. My favorite part was the waffle cone though that was crispy and sprinkled with cinnamon. Overall I thought the flavors were great! Greg also got the rhubarb crumble and had similar thoughts but wished the ice cream was a little more creamy and think and not as icy. He also got the brownie chunks/coffee flavor. We both tried this one and thought the coffee was very strong and espresso like and overtook the brownie chunks. Still, the choice was satisfying! Great place to try and fun because it's a local attraction. Nice for a weekend or vacation treat! read more
I love me some ice cream so while I'm Alaska I had multiple recommendations to try Wild Scoops that featured local Alaskan flavor. Wild Scoops was delicious and I appreciate that they have GF and vegan options. I sampled a couple flavors and finally chose a chocolate brownie and a chocolate coconut ice cream. The vegan ice cream was very good and you could barely tell it was vegan. The chocolate brownie ice cream had giant chunks of gooey brownie that were soooo good. They let you split a single scoop into two flavors which is perfect! Also if you get a waffle cone it literally comes out fresh and warm. I went with a large group so I was able to sample a few other flavors and all of them were rich, creamy and good flavor coming through. Prices were good for the quality of the ice cream and the staff was very friendly. I really really wish Wild Scoops had at least some seating. After getting my ice cream I awkwardly had to go back and sit in the car. The space was too small to stay and stand and outside was very windy and cold. So just know if your getting ice cream you will likely need to eat it someplace else. It's a small space and there are only around 6 flavors to choose from, but they are all very good. It's definitely worth the stop, and my only regret is not getting the toasted marshmallow on top for a baked Alaska treat. read more
Your not normal ice cream joint. Its on another level. Homemade flavors with Alaskan ingredients. I got something with honey comb and yum yum yum. The Alaskan gold ice cream also good. Several flavors. We got here on a Friday night and just beat the rush. They are the go to place for some ice cream. Lots of variety and lots of good stuff here. read more

It's every thing everyone else already said. And more! The icecream is delish, the staff is super friendly and patient, and you can sample as many kinds as you want - generous sample portions too. I went with the Baked Alaska with the chocolate cayenne icecream (blanking on the name but it was The Bomb!!). The toasted marshmallow makes this cone THE BEST!!!!! Lucky to have a very short line when we arrived. read more
- Line can be long - Yes, you can sample flavors - Unable to stay inside to have your ice cream (small shop) - There's a nice area across the street you can sit at to eat WHOA. That's the first thing I have to say because this place really shocked me. I lived in NY for a bit and I've traveled a decent amount, so I've come across many ice cream shops boasting innovative, unique flavors. Most have creative ideas, yes, but Wild Scoops' flavors are honestly unlike ice cream flavors I've ever had before. For reference, we got the Sampler Flight which allowed us to "Explore 4 different flavors" for $8. We chose Sitka Swirl (Sweet cream + AK sea salt caramel swirl), Chaga Chocolate Meringue (Chaga shiitake ice cream + chocolate meringue + fudge), Sleeping Lady (Earl Grey ice cream with local black currant swirl), & Mint Brownie (Local mint in a creamy base with flourless brownie). Do they sound pretty standard? No, right? Well! They weren't. Every first bite I had left me wondering, "What's this ingredient? What am I tasting?" Maybe that doesn't sound fun to you, but it sure is fun to me. Personally, when I went with the Sleeping Lady I was expecting a simple Earl Grey flavor with a hint of a fruity taste, but it's much more powerful than that! The black currant takes you for a spin, and the earl grey flavor tones it down for you to enjoy. Mint Brownie might sound basic, and it is, but if I'm correct.. The mint tasted very fresh, as if they had put actual mint leaves into the ice cream rather than artificial mint sweetener/flavoring. It was really lovely, especially for a mint lover like myself. Chocolate Meringue was an explosion of flavors I didn't really understand, but enjoyed. I honestly can't describe it to you. It's very unique and unlike anything I personally have ever tried. Sitka Swirl was sweet and rich, and which was nice to balance out the more extravagant flavors of Chaga Chocolate Meringue and Sleeping Lady. I'm pretty bummed I won't be able to try other flavors they come up with here at Wild Scoops. I LOVE their take on ice cream. I really wanted to try their Alaska Honeycomb flavor! Maybe one day.. read more
I love ice cream, a lot, and therefore have high standards. This place did not disappoint! Get the waffle cone! It has cinnamon in it that makes it a treat just by itself. I got it with a scoop of the Sitka swirl and it was perfect. They have a lot of other unique flavors that I could have eaten but I just couldn't fit all of that ice cream into my body. read more
Don't let the long line steer you away from delicious local, handcrafted ice cream. There are many new rotating flavors to choose from, including gluten free and vegan options. Homemade waffle cones are a must--I can already smell them. Of course I had to get the Baked Alaska Cone: ice cream topped with torched marshmallow fluff. Definitely recommend this place to satisfy your ice cream craving. read more

Wild Scoops ice cream uses Alaska ingredients and has the best service. Located conveniently downtown, Wild Scoops offers a variety of unique handmade flavors. During the summer there is almost always a long line of at least 10 people out the door for this treat. During the winter, the line may not be long, but they hold their winter hours and offer deals when it snows and on particularly cold days. It is worth the wait, but plan your visit! Flavors are posted outside the door and on their Instagram (@wildscoops), so when you find a favorite in the rotation, you can plan your visit. My favorite is Redoubt's Revenge which features a spicy chocolate, and I add the handmade cone chips that have cinnamon in them. 5/5 for using unique, mostly Alaskan (local) ingredients, having dairy alternative choices available, and always having friendly staff when slammed with customers! read more

Hands down best ice cream I have ever had and I been to a lot of places. The carefully constructed ingredients were a delight in each bite. I highly recommend the baked Alaska cone with the AK honeycomb and the Sitka Swirl. The other location in Midtown had vegan options just in case your vegan. read more

Whoa. This place is everything I dreamed it would be! Interesting, weird flavors, amazing cones, "Baked Alaska" concept... I was actually blown away. On Friday Night in June around 8:30 PM there was a long line, but it moved quickly because the establishment was well-staffed. They let you try the flavors, thank goodness, because there is so many interesting ones and I'd hate to take a chance on something and not like it! Many of the flavors are sweet-cream based, which is my favorite base, but I don't recommend ordering two flavors with a sweet cream base because they will muddle together in your cone and taste the same. See: my friend William's amateur error. He ordered Sitka Swirl and the Birch flavor on top of one another, and he remarked both were good, but he "couldn't tell the difference." Rookie. I ordered the Sleeping Lady on a waffle cone. It was: AMAZING. The Earl Grey flavor really came through and the blackcurrant swirl is making me salivate right now, just remembering. Speaking of the cones: get one. They're more of a sugar-waffle hybrid (much more crispness to these) and they have cinnamon and anise and wow wow wow. And you know what? If you're into marshmallow, spring for the "Baked Alaska" version with swirled toasted marshmallow on top... Those looked *really* good and they're on my list to try. In Summary: -Get a waffle cone; they're special here -Try the flavors; get adventurous -Don't be intimidated by the line -YOU CAN GET TOASTED MARSHMALLOW ON TOP. IF YOU'RE INTO THAT KIND OF THING. read more
The ice cream flavors here are so unique and creative. They have classic menu, rotating menu which changes seasonally, and vegan menu. Ingredients are Alaska grown, such as blueberry, rhubarb, summer thyme, etc. We ordered Spruce tip, which was made from fresh AK spruce tips. It wasn't too sweet and every bite brings you to spruce forest!!! Only in Alaska! Personally don't recommend the baked cream on the top. They torched marshmallow fluff on the pot and artifully piped it up on your favorite flavor. Some people may like it, but it's a bit heavy for me. read more

Awesome ice cream and awesome fresh made waffle cones! Pints available as well as ice cream cookie sandwiches! With soft chocolatey chip cookies made by angels. Seriously, can I buy some of these cookies?!?! I will pay an unreasonable sum for them. Just wish the store was a little bigger! read more

Stopped in just because there was no line. Tried a few that were all good. Got the Yukon Gold and loved it. Really this place is an Anchorage version of Salt and Straw. If you're in town and want ice cream it's worth the wait. read more
Coming from Portland and the first Salt and Straw, I have a snobby take on ice cream shops trying to be interesting and cool. This place nailed it. The mint was some exclusive Alaskan mint. Who knew but it was different and more flavorful. Not I! And the birch almond was amazing. Flavors change so hope for one of these. Now the waffle cone was magical. Don't pass up this super light, crispy, mythical cone. Repeat to yourself, "I will not pass on the cone!" It was perfection!! Nice work! Alaska knows their ice cream. read more

SO YUMMY! This is officially the best ice cream I've ever had! I quickly ran over here after dinner. When I saw the long line, I got anxious because we had to be at the airport right after. But it moved fairly quickly and we made it through-I just wish I could've savored my ice cream more because I had to wolf it down before jumping into an Uber. The service was friendly and they let me sample a few flavors. I had this rhubarb pie on the ship and thought it was disgusting, but I decided to give rhubarb another try! Rhubarb Crumble: rhubarb with a crumble mixed in-way better than the first time I tried rhubarb Cocoblue: coconut and blueberry-this one was vegan! Perfect for the lactose-intolerant. The ice cream is so creamy, fresh, and delicious. My order was a scoop of those two flavors in a waffle cone (flavored with star anise and handmade/rolled on the spot), topped with the baked alaska (torched marshmallow fluff). It was the most unique creation I've ever seen. And very tasty. The waffle cone was still warm when I ate it! Wild Scoops locally sources their ingredients and makes their ice cream onsite. And with flavors that are in season and unique to Alaska! They also sell cute branded t-shirts and stickers. I would so come back but I don't know when I will ever be in Alaska again-I was just visiting on a cruise. read more
