First time eating here. The Philly Sammy was stupid good. The meat was tender and well seasoned. The bread was super soft and fresh. Wife got the lobster grilled cheese sandwich which she said was absolutely amazing. It was a little spendy but the portion was huge and she made two meals out of it Service was awesome, friendly and fast. Only downside we experienced was their sweet tots. Tater tots made out of sweet potatoes. Not good IMHO. We will definitely eat there again. read more

Very strange that this would show up in a trending email to me from Yelp as... They're permanently closed and the food trailer is gone from the location. Have been gone for a few months now. It's unfortunate, as this was a fun place to stop on the river next to a working shrimp dock and a terrific seafood market (which is still open!), with good tacos and a unique vibe. The place to support!!! Location is a little hard to fine.....but when you do it is the perfect spot!!! Walking up to the truck you instant get the fee of an owner that cares and they go that extra step to make sure they deliver quality. So hard to decide on what taco to get... so I got one snapper and one shrimp.. she gave me both sauces!! Yummm... Husband has the seared yellowfin boat... Where to start with this place!! Great lil spot by the water. Sit outside where the fisherman play- great view of boats and the Homosassa River. Owned by a great couple, both Veterans. I hate that I forgot their names, because I went back twice! -But I did, sooo please forgive me. They both cook from their hearts! Passion shows in every basket served out the window! The one lady has the history, the hot spots, she is the "know" of Ol Homosassa.. Now to the food. As I mentioned I went twice- first time I got both sets of tacos- fish (Mahi-mahi) and steak. Yum Yum YUM! Great dipping sauces- again I know she told me what they were but I was so into my food I couldn't remember over the yumminess. They make everything fresh (again on the water) she mentioned how she picks or buys local of her ingredients!! Super plus!! They also include fresh fruit on the side to balance your tastebuds. One they serve is a sweet cantaloupe that I could eat all day long! They offer two Hot Sauce: one peppered from St. Augustine, extended family of theirs- the other local hot,and it definitely had some heat behind it (I mixed the two which was perfect!!) Service is friendly and busy. Everything is made fresh and to order. You can sit at the outdoor tables and watch the river. We started with a cup of stone crab chowder. What a cool place located right on the water in Homosassa. It's a good trailer but the food is fantastic. You order and it's all made to order and fresh. I had the red snapper sandwich and my friend had the shrimpy burger boat. It came with a couple pieces of fruit. Both were so fresh and delicious. I love the decor, and there are several tables to sit outside and enjoy your meal. Definitely will return to try some different fresh seafood dishes. read more

So this is a little place near the fish market with some very good food. We were trying to nibble at a couple different places to try different things but it was hard not to order a lot here. We started with the she crab chowder. So good! Think and the crab was sweet and tender. Next we got 2 tacos, a wild shrimp one and a fish one. Both were delicious and the sauce was just right. Lots of seafood. Loved the grilled tortilla. Gave it a nice crunch. Pull around and you will see lots of parking and tables. Relax and enjoy the view of the river with some really good food! Saw that this place was just down the road and tucked back away from the crowds and decided to try it. Really glad we did. Jim and I shared a 1/2 pd of peel n eat shrimp. Wished we would have ordered a pound! Large, tender and sweet cooked shrimp. We also ordered the tacos. I had the shrimp and tuna tacos. Both were very good. The shrimp taco was huge! Jim had the beef steak and blackened mahi-mahi tacos. He doesn't t do cheese and ordered them without. But like many places, his came with cheese. That's the only thing I would ding them on. I am sure this place is usually awesome but we stopped by for a quick snack and got the stone crab chowder. First off it was mostly butter and crème with only a few potatoes and almost no crab. Maybe they should change the name to a. bisque because a chowder is supposed to be thick. They were also out of crackers to help sop up the butter. It was creamy and the potatoes and celery added texture and flavor. Next I had the mahi mahi tacos on corn tortillas topped with a mango salsa. This is the absolute definition of "hidden gem." Wild Sassa is a sort of food truck/trailer perched in the shade at the edge of a dirt lot, across from the fish market. It is said fish market that no doubt makes the offerings here so outrageously fresh, delicious, and mouthwatering. The menu is small and largely dependent upon whatever fish/catch is available that day...much to the enjoyment of the patrons here. Everything is just about as fresh as if you caught it yourself. The wild shrimp (in the glorious shrimp tacos) was - you guessed it - mind-bogglingly fresh and flavorful, something rarely enjoyed in this part of Florida where other (delicious...) fare such as scallops and clams tend to dominate. The location is simple yet perfectly comfortable. Orders are placed at the window and then enjoyed at one of several tables positioned in the shade. Not to be overlooked is the postcard-worthy view of the Homosassa River a few dozen yards away. Fresh local seafood, cooked to perfection, consumed while gazing out on the river from the shade...you really need to give this place a try. read more
