It was little slow but they were pretty busy. Food was 10/10! I had the Harry's butter beer latte so delicious. The Tex-Mex was so flavorful and the cinnamon swirl pancake was huge! The portions are so big that two people can easily share. The omelettes come with your choice of toast and home fries or French fries. The food and coffee took a little long to come out but it was so worth it. Definitely come here for breakfast!

The Diner is a popular breakfast, brunch, and lunch restaurant near Universal Studios. It is known…read morefor its New York style comfort food and creative breakfast and brunch dishes. It is a family owned restaurant founded by New York natives who noticed a gap in Central Florida for high quality, authentic New York style diner food. The original location opened on Universal Boulevard in the Lake Cay area, near Universal Orlando and SeaWorld. The restaurant quickly became popular with both locals and vacationers looking for an alternative to the standard hotel breakfast buffet. Following the success of the Universal Boulevard location, the owners expanded to additional Central Florida locations, including Lake Buena Vista and Dr. Phillips. The Diner has gained attention for its creative twists on classic comfort food. One of its signature dishes is the Bennyffle a combination of Eggs Benedict served over a waffle. The menu also features specialty cereal pancakes, including Fruity Pebbles and Oreo Crunch, along with classics such as chicken and waffles. In July 2026, the Universal Boulevard location even became the center of a viral national news story after a family of seven including children reportedly walked out on a $298.47 breakfast bill. The story highlighted how hard family businesses work and how an incident like this can affect them. I recently met up with a group of friends at The Diner for brunch. The Diner can get crowded, and they do not take reservations. I am grateful that one of my friends arrived very early to wait for a table for our group. The diner offers a selection of coffee drinks as well as alcoholic beverages, making it a festive spot for brunch. Since I had a long day ahead, I stuck with coffee and ordered the signature chicken and waffles. The combination was delicious. The crispy, savory fried chicken was the perfect partner to the soft, buttery waffles, while the warm, sweet maple syrup contrasted to the salty chicken. It was a very large portion and I really enjoyed my meal. The service was excellent, and the staff were very accommodating when we needed several separate checks. I loved my visit to The Diner, and the experience was made even better by sharing brunch with a great group of friends. Good food, friendly service, and even better company made for a memorable morning.

Briarpatch doesn't take reservations for brunch, but don't worry. I truly have never seen a walk-in line move so quickly! With a line out the door, and even sometimes around the corner, I have never waited more than 20 minutes for a table. Their staff is quick and efficient. Inside, it truly feels like a diner in NYC! There is plenty of patio seating as well, so I know I will be taking advantage of that when the weather cools down here in Florida! Looking for something savory? The short rib benedict is PHENOMENAL!!! Such a creative take on a classic eggs benedict; and packed with flavor. Sweet? The raspberry & brie french toast is my favorite thing on the menu. It is thick cut brioche bread stuffed with raspberry jam & brie cheese. I usually come with a friend, we get one of each of those entrees, and split it! I can never decide!! Keep in mind that the potions are HUGE. You can easily share with a friend!

There's usually a line out the door. However, we never wait longer than 15 minutes to get the goods. The space is definitely small on the customer end inside. However, they have plenty of outdoor seating that's perfect for hanging out with friends on a Sunday morning. Literally one of my favorite spots. Thank you Buttermilk for being THAT girl.

I have been a Buttermilk Bakery fan for well over a decade. Until this last weekend…read more I got online at 8:15 in the morning to place my order. Each item that I selected came up with a message that read, "Our store is not currently accepting orders." I tried again a few minutes later. Then again. And again. And again. I tried to call and received a voicemail that stated a different number. At 8:50am, the option to order seemed to be back up and running. I ordered five items, including the Roasted Tomatoes & Goat Cheese Quiche. For context: I live 45 minutes away from Buttermilk Bakery. It used to be on my way to work but, as of a few years ago, that is not the case anymore. So, it is now a special occasion destination. Reserved only for weekends when I can make the trip. More context: I have been raving to one of my closet friends for years about how much I love this place. My most emphatic musings have been about the quiche. Today, since she and I were planning an afternoon poolside, I thought that I would surprise her with an assortment of Viennoiserie and other items. At 10:36am, I received a call from Buttermilk. The woman on the phone informed me that they had run out of the quiche. How?!? Once the website was working, I was able to place my order quickly and the item didn't even read, "Low stock." I know that this is a small problem in a world full of large problems, but the thing that really set me off is that when I arrived at the store, the person in line in front of me asked for the Strawberry Buttermilk Pie. He was told that they were out of stock. He was pleasant in stating that there appeared to be slices in the refrigerator case. The girl behind the register told him that they were being held for online orders. When it was my turn, I stated that no one had held my slice of quiche. She blandly said, "I am sorry," and proceeded. I then stated that I was unhappy and had driven some distance. She asked if I would like something else. I responded that the person on the phone had simply told me that I would receive a refund. I then asked for the girl to check on my refund. She said it was not processed yet. So, I said that I would wait. She needed to ask for help to process the refund. She wasn't nasty to me, but she did not care one iota. My effort and subsequent inconvenience meant nothing. I wonder if my refund would even have been processed had I not asked. My friend and I thought the pastries that we received were fine, but she is fitness-minded and was hesitant to indulge in so many carbs without the rich protein that the quiche would have provided. And, yet, more context: This happened once before. With the quiche. Maybe a year ago. Though, that time, I believe it was a butternut squash quiche. My husband needed to be in the area, so he suggested that he pick-up at Buttermilk. When he arrived, he was told that there would be no quiche. No call. No nothing. He didn't think to ask for a refund and we never received one. That time, I simply thought, "Well, accidents happen." This time, I think that I received very shoddy service. I felt very disrespected. I felt unseen. I have loved this place, but I am so disappointed.

My boyfriend said he enjoyed it as it was not too sweet. The ingredients (white chocolate, raspberry, and blueberry) paired well together, and if we were local, he'd get again. - Oatmeal Cream Pie: This was STUNNING. Yes, all caps needed. I think this was one of my favorite baked goods since my cousin stopped her bakery stand selling the best oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. I hope this is both a staple item, and we visit Orlando soon to get one! Yum! - se7en Benedict: Loved the biscuits as it tasted like a true southern biscuit. My biggest piece of advice: don't forget the griddled blueberry muffin. I somehow missed it when we ordered, realized my mistake, and immediately put in a second order. It was absolutely worth it. The biscuit was just as good, huge, fluffy, and basically a meal by itself. The food across the board was exactly what I wanted from a spot like this. The avocado, bacon, and tomato omelet was excellent. I don't usually love tomato, but it added just enough brightness to make the whole thing work. The eggs, grits, and chicken and waffles were all solid in the best possible way. Nothing here is trying to be trendy or overcomplicated.
