After visiting the Carmel location a few years ago I looked sooooo forward to coming back. Ended up here yesterday. Service was prompt and friendly, but the food quality has slipped since my last visit. Yesterday's cinnamon roll looked small and lacked the decadence I remember from Carmel. And I wish I'd gotten eggs, sausage, and pancakes separately instead of layered in their breakfast lasagna. It's sold as reminiscent of the McGriddle, but it didn't work for me. I couldn't taste the sausage, I wanted to add more maple syrup to the pancakes, and the whole "drizzle cheddar-Jack cheese sauce over the top was a big no." Next time, I'll try something else. read more

The potato casserole as a side is a generous slice, and is well balanced in its seasoning. The cheese flavor in it is so nice. The breakfast tots are an indulgent item and worth every calorie. It's great! The blueberry muffins were so good I had to go back for seconds. It was a tad sweeter than a typical muffin, but not too much. It was light and airy inside, and not dense like other muffins I've had at breakfast places. Overall, a great place for breakfast. The dining area is spacious inside and it was easy to find parking. I love their menu and often indulge in their seasonal specials. I do like that you can get the traditional breakfasts as well as the more innovative dishes. Prices are resonable, the food quality is good and the portions are generous. I especially love their grits of the day. They do have the best grits on any given day. I also enjoy their libations. Nothing better than to start the day with a stiff drink. The problem seems to be with reservations, regardless of the location. Why squeeze 8 people around a table that barely has room for 6 when half the restaurant is empty. This is a horrible location to order to go food. Everytime you arrive you are told it will be 10-15 minutes for order. 10 minutes is how long the order should take to begin with. Then you actually wait at least 30 minutes. Very poor way to operate a business. read more

We loved Wild Egg the first few times we visited but something has changed; perhaps new management? I don't know. What do know is today when we went in fur breakfast after 8:00AM, it was like a ghost town and it still took a few minutes for anybody to come out to seat us. My wife ordered a grilled cheese sandwich that she couldn't eat because they used vegan cheese or some other fake cheese. It was inedible. I ordered a bunless burger which, though over cooked, was okay. The waitress, after bringing our meals, spent 10-15 minutes chatting with friends at another table as our ice tea glasses sat dry. Overall--a disappointing visit, disappointing enough that we will not return. read more

It's been a few years since I've visited any Wild Eggs location and my first time at this one. When we arrived, I requested a booth if one was available and I think that annoyed the hostess because she didn't speak another word to us as she grabbed menus and walked towards a back, corner booth. She sat the menus on the table and walked away. A server greeted us and took our drink orders, but then a different server returned with our drinks and introduced herself. I jokingly asked if we'd run the other server off and she explained that she was taking over her closing shift. I believe they closed at 3pm that day and the server who didn't take our table was still there sweeping and performing other tasks after we had paid and were leaving. I found that a bit odd, but our server was very kind and attentive. I ordered the featured mimosa, which was the Strawberry Lemonade Mimosa. It was delicious and refreshing. I usually order the Potato Head Casserole (superior!), but I wanted to try something different, so I ordered Kelly's Quesadilla with chorizo. Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan. I enjoy breakfast tacos and quesadillas, but only when the ingredients are kept separate and not all scrambled together. The fresh salsa served on the side helped out some, but I ultimately wasted half of the meal. My fiance ordered a classic breakfast in the form of The Mad Platter. I'm happy he did because he had plenty of food to share with me! I had some bacon, home fries and a few bites of the very soft & fluffy pancakes! Everything was delicious. I should have checked the order before I drove all the way home, but once I got home I realized both eggs had broken and there was zero hollandaise sauce, which is the whole point of eggs Benedict. I had the Loco Hash, which was one of the best breakfast dishes I've had at any restaurant. Usually, when you order a hash breakfast, it's heavy on the potatoes; this dish was not. Perfect balance between the potatoes and carnitas with a lot of fresh tomatoes and jalapeños. I loved the "heat" of the dish and with eggs over easy, which I chose, it was amazing. It was topped with sour cream and guacamole which added a perfect accent. My wife had the Buffalo Omlette, which she said had perfect chicken that was tender and the sauce added just the right amount of spice.
