He was so helpful and also provided bags of feed to our children while we walked around. While walking around, we were able to see many animals . One of our favorite areas was the garden area. Our children really enjoyed watching and looking at some of the items they were growing, whether it was produce or flowers. Another area we enjoyed was the playground . Our children in our classroom are older, but they were able to enjoy the playground as well. There was plenty of seating around the playground so you could sit and watch the children. The bathrooms were pretty clean for the type of area we were at . All of the staff that we came in contact with were fantastic. There was a lot of hard-working staff members there whether they were feeding animals or watering or attending to ground crew chores. The parking lot is pretty large. It can accommodate both vehicles and buses. We will definitely return .

My parents and I had planned to make the Hampton Carousel a focal point of our recent visit to the area since my mother is a member of the National Carousel Association, and we were so glad we did. This was a gorgeous Sunday and despite that the area was relatively empty. We had very few other folks come by the carousel while we were there and so the two gentlemen running it gave us the grand tour, including of the central support pillar, the electronics adapted to assist the century-old organ, and the other historical artifacts lining the walls. They did so out of the kindness of their hearts and a genuine affection for the carousel and its history, which you just don't see in terms of commitment at most venues anymore. The price for all of this? $1 a ride. What a deal! The carousel ride itself was enjoyable, and it's very cool that they have so many tracks of the hit songs from each year the carousel has been open. You never know what you'll hear next! The pavilion containing the carousel is beautiful and sturdy, which is particularly important when it comes to protecting the carousel for the next century or so. I was nervous about the 1:4 ratio, but since they were on the younger end, it was mostly a 1:2 or 1:3 ratio for them. I had visions of them being pulled under a wave and being traumatized by the ocean forever, and it's true they did get hit by the board a few times, but the instructors were so positive that the kids didn't mind much, kind of like how falling is a fact of life when you're learning to walk (but we don't tell kids not to learn to walk). I learned a thing or two too - instead of reaching to a bad wipeout with "Are you ok??", I can try saying "Sick wipeout dude!" :) The one thing I would note is to pay attention to the tides - I think the camps are better at low tide.
