Bo and jaylen picked us up after enjoying some amazing pizza offsite. They picked us up right next to our room and gave us an amazing tour of the wigwam. We saw the teepee on the blue course and got to see the wigwam in its late night hours all lit up. It was an amazing ride around the resort. Not really worth the money even on a budget course. Bunkers need sand and some weeding. Greens are very bumpy. Tee boxes moved around more. Hard to find good grass to tee off of for par 3's. Course needs better signage. So many courses overlapping each other the lack of signage made it confusing to figure out which way few times. Saw cart girl once on a 95 temp day not ideal. My buddy and I played on 5/9/26, Saturday. The course had a big tournament right after our tee time. We arrived and paid $150, waited for a cart but none were available. All or most of the carts were allocated for the tournament. Several other people behind us were waiting for carts also. My buddy asked several employees who we needed to talk with to get a cart assigned and was given bad information on both occasions. The lead/manager finally came, apologized and offered to give us drinks from the concession cart. What a Cluster of disorganization!! Finally, we got to the 1st tee and there was no putting green nearby and the starter was not too sharp. Typically, there is a putting green near the 1st hole on most/all courses I have played. Let's just say this course is not a $150 course and more like a $60 course. The layout was flat and back and forth and the greens were okay not great. Played later in the day at Verrado Golf Club for $99 and it was an awesome experience. read more

It was very nostalgic being here. Since this is an old course you can see all of the characters throughout the layout. It really reminded me of many California courses with all of the trees. Played here with some friends, and didn't tale us that long to finish all eighteen holes. This is not your normal Arizona desert course. This course will have trees, water, and rough. So, keep it in the fairways. Course is not the best around, but it gives you challenges. Hope to play here again soon. read more

Our favorite food items at the Wigwam: Wigwam Bar (breakfast): The Puzzle bread (It reminds me of my grandmothers monkey bread but its topped with even more caramel, bananas, and pecans. Its amazing) Tower Pool Bar and Grill: The Kids Quesadilla (it's a secret item and not on the menu but it is by far the best quesadilla Ive ever had. I ordered it three times while I was there. My favorite thing about it? It's made with gouda cheese and it comes with a side of sour cream and salsa). Red's Bar and Grill: The Red Wings (the hot sauce is made in house and is the perfect blend of spice, sweet and almost has a garlic spice) Best drinks at the Wigwam: Red's Bar and Grill: The Bloody Mary Tower Pool Bar and Grill: Wigwam Signature Margarita Best Employees: Red's Bar and Grill employee, Anthony. He was so nice, accommodating and friendly. He also made Charlie feel super special during the Character Breakfast. Thank you Anthony! Red's Bar and Grill employee, Sam. Ever go to a movie that you were told was going to be a good movie, but it turns out to be fantastic? Take that experience and multiply it by ten and then experience it at a resort destination instead of a film. Friendlest staff I have ever seen. From the moment you walk it, they make you feel like the most important person in the world. This resort was personally design for you. If you love golf, the "if you can hit the ball straight" fairways will have you ball run an extra 20-30 yards off the tee. I need that. The greens are super soft though and hold the floppy shots well without requiring tons of extra spin....loved em! The kids had a blast at the pool, waterslides! Wife had a great time at the spa, facial and massage treatments! I don't know which one came back to the room happier. There is lots of grass all around the resort to keep it nice and cool.... beautiful too. We came during spring training and we will be coming back next year for a longer stay thanks read more

I was recently invited to play in a celebrity golf tournament at this course. It was a lot of fun. There are three 18 hole courses to play. We played on the Heritage Course, which is 6,852 yds from the Men's Championship tees and 6,291 from the Men's Club tees. It's fun traditional course that's very flat with large trees, a little water, and medium difficulty rough. It's not a typical desert course. If you spray your shot here, you have a very good chance to find it....unless you hit it into a residence. The day we played, the greens and fairways were in great condition. Yes, yes, YES! Love this place...and I don't even like to golf! It's a little piece of heaven everywhere you go! From the spa to the dining even across the street dining is fun and delish! I really wanted to enjoy this property...and I hate writing bad reviews but this property needs some help. The Cons: Booking Process - A bit disappointed from the time I booked my stay to my exit. I have worked in the hospitality industry my whole life and have never had such an issue getting a hold of someone at the Front Desk. I know how the 3rd party commissions work for hotels with Expedia and TripAdvisor or Booking.com and I was trying to give them the benefit of honoring that rate posted vs. paying a higher rate on their own website (which is backwards if you ask me), plus they pay a commission on the rate to the 3rd party site when booked. I could not get a hold of someone, so I ended up booking on Expedia. I followed up after my stay and tried to get a hold of someone via email and phone to get a copy of my receipt from the Pool (more details on Cabana reservation coming) because I walked away without an itemized copy and STILL have not received a copy. Before my stay - I get a text a day before my arrival saying if I need anything to reach out, so I texted the number and asked about their Cabanas by the pool and golf. It is a large resort, so you will walk a bit depending on where you room is located to get the restaurants on site or to the pool, not an issue for me. My recommendation - DO NOT BOOK A CABANA. Its not worth the money. They said it was $200, but really its $154-ish, with an automatic 20% gratuity....for what!? There was bird shit on the table, food stuck to the floor, the couch was so badly stained they had a blue stripped towel over it, including left over balloon strings hanging on the cabana. I normally tip 20% anyway, but the fact that it was added on before the service began rubbed me the wrong way. Our server would not stop asking for that bill for the first hour we were there. I work in the industry and this was a big turn off that he continued to ask for the cabana bill, and this was before I noticed all the garbage and leftover food, bird shit, etc. that was on and around the cabana. It wasn't like we didn't order more drinks and food which was another $150+ on top of the $200 for the cabana, so why the automatic 20% for a dirty, non-maintenance area with a table of bird shit to eat our food on. It looked like no one had touched it for months with no clean up prior to us arriving. I would consider calling the Resort to ask for my money back but probably wouldn't get a hold of anyone. Waste of money. The Pros: The double queen room was spacious and the bathroom updated with a large closet. There was a bar seating area by what was probably a kitchen area previously, with a fridge. The resort will charge you for a microwave...kind of odd since they have all these restaurants on site...what If I waned to heat up leftovers? My only con for the room was that the blinds were broken and brought in so much light to the room it was hard to sleep. Minor and not the end of the world. Restaurants on site - The Litchfield's Restaurant on site was wonderful and I could see locals hanging out at the bar for hours! Best part of the whole resort was having dinner at that place. Service was exceptional and the drinks were wonderful! I would stay somewhere else next time and still come here for dinner and drinks. The vibe was awesome and the service was 5 stars. read more

Yesterday was a bad experience when the cart gal was rude when we requested a cart to come to us for drinks. She was rude and I'm surprise that my buddy even left her a tip for being rude. We escaped California and went to the Wigwam to stay for our anniversary. It was the best experience we have ever had!! We even decided to come back every year to celebrate. The staff was super nice and efficient. The pools and the water slides are so much fun and poolside service is a huge plus! Live in north phoenix 40 mins away and I coach my sons sports program so we made sure to be the first tee at 632am on 5/21/23 to be done at a good time. At hole 11, Ike approached us to let us know they scheduled a shotgun tournament and that we would be surrounded by them. Poor planning on wigwam to have us stuck in the middle of a tournament with 7 holes to play. Ignacio called the front desk to see what options we had and Andrew was no help at all. Just terrible customer service. Told us to go see him at the golf shop to have a discussion when he already informed us on the walkie talkie that he wouldn't do anything for us. We didn't want a refund just another round to be played another Time so I can leave to go coach my son. Plus we were told the golfers in the tourney were really good but of course they weren't. It was dreadfully slow. Andrew from the front desk has no customer service skills. Our experience was ruined which you can't prorate. Avoid this course at all cost. They have terrible planning s kill old and blame the customers. read more

We thought the Wigwam was a classic old desert resort, once that's been restored and continues to be well maintained, both the facilities and the golf course. The courses were very basic parkland style layouts, and playable, yet challenging. The lodge, guest service, and restaurant facilities were all very well done, an excellent experience overall. Compared to other courses we have played while staying in Mesa for a 6 day golf vacation, this was our least favorite course (Gold). The course is in ok condition but it has none of the beauty and serenity we have become so fond of with the Phoenix area courses. The pro shop staff was friendly and even offered a clothing discount to our group. However the most disappointing and disrespectful comment came from the starter who wanted to make sure we understood that the Gold course was their hardest course. I have to say that I was disappointed. Having been told some good things by people that went there two years ago, I thought I would take the family for a special day of pampering and rest. It couldn't have been worse. The valet seemed more intent on telling us we were lost than showing welcoming us, and the food in the restaurant (apart from the omelets!) tasted like it was cooked way back when my friends went to the resort. The coffee was lukewarm, people kept swarming around asking to clear dishes, and that was even before some of our party had finished getting their food. I played the red course today. The course was laid out very well, but the course was not maintained very well. The greens were decent but the fairways and rough was dry and reminded me of a municipal course. The staff was nice and very helpful and made my experience a little better. I would play again, but I'll try to play the blue course, it looks nicer from what I could see. The driving range is good too. I like the fact that you can hit as many ball for $12.00 and my 4 year old son was welcome. read more

The service was good except that they told me the restaurant opens The 6.30 and we were waiting to get in then the told us that they open at 7.00.. I am not sure why it does not open when you have tee times at 6.30. The pace was extremely slow we waited on every hole the pace ended up 4.40 minutes. The first hole was a mile from the club house . This has been a great place to golf in the past, but it is in pretty bad shape now. We golfed the Red Course and fairways aren't too bad, but the greens are in very bad shape. Also, if you end up going off the fairway to get your ball, be prepared for a 4-wheel drive worthy experience. read more
