The restaurant is hard to miss due to its bright red and yellow trademark colors. The drive thru is well maintained and the intercom is clear. Today I was craving chili, so I doubled up and got a Junkyard Dog and chili cheese fries. The dog is topped with a slice of cheese, chili, fries, and grilled onions. I opted out of the mustard and chose a pretzel bun. There's a lot going on with this dog, but it works and is tasty. I highly recommend the pretzel bun! The chili cheese fries were disappointing. Considering the fries would be topped with chili and cheese, they really need to start off crispy to be able to hold up. Instead they were almost slightly undercooked and didn't have a chance. The woman took an order and then proceeded to get the person's food & drink before taking the next person's order. Not good! There were several people waiting in line behind us. Been craving a caramel sundae all day. Stopped at the competitor in a nearby city on my way home from work and they were out of ice cream and had no cold desserts. My sister suggested wienerschnitzel saying they are really good. I was headed to the competitor when my daughter said actually, I'd like to get food at wienerschnitzel. So, I was torn. Do I get the sundae I been craving all day or try the one my sister loves. I decided to try wienerschnitzel. It was $1.50 more than the competitor, but the photo looked good. So, we ordered my sundae and my daughter's food. Well, at first glance, I was disappointed that the sundae didn't look like the picture; it looked smaller than the picture. I sent pics to my sister while waiting in the drive thru and she said that's smaller than what she receives at the wienerschnitzel in her area. Crying. Then, I taste my $5 sundae and it tastes great. I pretty much inhaled it. I dunno, maybe 6-7 spoonfuls. And, it's gone. Thankfully, it hit the spot. This, the 2 stars. But, 3 point reduction for not looking like the photos. Won't order it again. I can see why they have the reviews that they have simply just starting with their website saying they're open till midnight but coming to the drive-through at 10:15 and they're closed. I was here two weeks ago at about 830. I was just gonna leave horrible experience alone. I still want to because it was a horrible experience in general, but I get it. She must have not heard me say mustard and didn't give it to me so I kindly asked her for mustard "can I have mustard as well?" She then replied "you only asked for ketchup". Even if I didn't ask for mustard the first time, she should have never given me a response as she did! If she doesn't know how to acknowledge customers or give positive feedback then she should only be behind the scenes (kitchen, cleaning or organizing). Don't go to this location. Drive past it!! It took 15 minutes to get our food. The lady forgot our fries and drink. When I told her we were missing fries, she made the medium fries for us with no gloves or anything. She was working in the takeout window. Update: We didn't ever hear anything but we did recieve a coupon for a free combo in the mail. It doesn't change the hassle but it is nice that the company seems to care about their customers. Changed review from 1 star to 3 stars. Came here for lunch since my 3 year old daughter wanted a corn dog. Ordered some food for my wife and myself as well. Arrived home only to figure out that they overcharged us for items that we didn't order as well as forgot my daughter's corn dogs (yes they are on the receipt) as well as didn't include any forks or napkins. Tried to call a few times but their phone just rings so I guess we just got ripped off (just not worth the time to drive back). I guess when you're struggling to maintain profit margins this is one way to boost money coming through the door. Good business practices. On a side note I did notice that someone from Wienerschnitzel does occasionally reply to reviews by saying please contact us - however they don't leave any actual way to contact them. Stopped here tonight after a long day of Christmas shopping. Was pleasantly greeted by the employees at the counter. Ordering was a breeze, and food came out quick. Our food was piping hot and fresh. We tried the new chili cheese tamale tonight, along with our usual chili dog. The chili dogs were fantastic. **Tip: if you're not a fan of the american cheese they put on it, order a side of shredded cheese for .30 cents and top it yourself! Tastes so much better! ** The tamale, I wasn't a fan of. By itself it tasted good, I think the chili and cheese just wasn't paired right. Won't be ordering those again. When I was 7 the Wienerschnitzal by my house was amazing. The hot dogs were big. The hot dogs were juicy. The chili dogs were amazing. The service here was 2 stars The Chicago dog was not a fresh bun And a tiny weenie. It was nothing like any Chicago dog I have ever had. We went through the drive through. The little one liked her corn dog. Thus, the 2 stars. On yelp, 2 stars is equivalent to "I've had better." My real opinion is that my hot dog was very poor quality and I wish I could take it back. I can only imagine how great this place would be if they made amazing hotdogs. The chili dog was not good. I wish the manager would allow me to bring this back. This Wienerschnitzel in Placentia is very clean and the food is always hot, fresh and tasty. The fries and mini corn dogs are crispy and hot, and the chili cheese fries have plenty of chili and cheese on them without the fries getting too soggy. We get angus beef for the street dogs or other hot dogs and that makes a big difference, great taste. The pretzel bun hot dogs are my favorite - the pretzel bun is warm and soft, never chewy. We've also had root beer floats, shakes, and ice cream cones and all have been delicious treats. :-) The only thing that needs improvement is the service. Although my orders are always correct and the wait time is quick, the employees don't seem to have any customer service skills. Employees seem bored and they never smile. I drove 10 miles to come here and they were closed a whole hour early! When I looked online it said closed at 12am, it was 10:50 I arrived at 11:15 and they're were workers inside on their phones. I used to work at this establishment during high school! The food is decent if your looking for a hot dog. The restaurant usually pre grills the hot dogs since it takes around twenty minutes to fully cook one. I would definitely recommend trying the pastrami sandwich. The rye bread is amazingly good and ask them to grill your pastrami since the default is microwaving it. I'd stay away from the chili though, but that's just my take on it. I'd try the corn dogs and italian dogs. Be sure to ask them to make it fresh for better tasting results. I'd walk in and order just to check they actually do make it fresh. For desert, I would try the ice cream cones. They are under a dollar and have a better quality taste then Mc Donald's or other places! Overall not a bad place for Hot Dogs in the area. read more

I always get it piping hot and with just amount of salt. I'd recommend the Chili Dogs for sure. But if you want a pretty good Chili Burger, they have a mean one. Worst Wienerschitzel ever! Ordered Desert Pear Fizzer. Received Desert Pear Lemonade. Ordered new chocolate caramel dipped cone. Received chocolate dipped cone and the cone itself looked like someone had already been eating it! Bites were taken out of it! Ordered Big Angus Chicago dog. Sign in the drive thru said 2.98. Were charged 3.99. The woman at the window didn't apologize for not telling us they didn't make fizzers any more and just giving us the lemonade instead. She didn't apologize for the wrong cone and offer to give us the right one. I usually go to the one on Lambert to buy chili cheese fries but my house is really close to this location so when I'm super lazy I just come to this location. For some reason, this location's chili cheese fries are extremely salty...I've been to several locations since I love Wienerschnitzel's chili cheese fries and I eat them 3-4 times a week but this location's chili cheese fries are definitely saltier than other locations. Sometimes it feels like they poured salt all over the fries and I can't enjoy the chili flavor because the taste of salt is so overwhelming. It's disappointing that I always have to drive to a farther location when there is one right by my house, in walking distance. read more
