We stopped at Wienerschnitzel on the way home from a field trip in San Francisco, and it was one of those "we need something now" kind of stops. We went through the drive-thru and they have one of those robotic ordering systems instead of a person. I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first, but it repeats everything back to you and honestly... it was spot on. Order was completely right and it moved fast, which after a long day was exactly what we needed. I don't even look at the menu here anymore. If you have read my other reviews you will know I detest when I sit for a long time in the drive thru. There are three vehicles and I have been sitting here for 20 minutes. It's nice that they have an electronic order machine but they need more people inside to make the food apparently. Finally get to the window and they charged me for mayonnaise. I can see if I asked for a bunch but they charged me for the equivalent of a ketchup packet. I have never been charged for mayonnaise before for my corn dog. Some people don't like ketchup. I've never tried Wienerschnitzel in my life until now! We were in the area and stopped by for a snack. Service was pretty friendly at the drive thru. We got the 6 pack mini corn dogs, medium fries, and watermelon lemonade. Mini corn dogs - they came out hot!! The batter was crispy and fresh. Just enough batter. The hot dog itself was pretty standard. They didn't ask us if we wanted any sauce, which would have been nice. Medium fries - size was ok for the price. I would have gotten large instead. They remind me of McDonald's fries. There's a mix of soggy and crispy fries. Not too salty! Watermelon lemonade - refreshing, but watermen taste was very mild. Lemonade taste was also pretty mild. It wasn't super tart or super sweet, so it was just ok. As a note, it's strange they don't have an app for online ordering and coupons in this day and age! Ok, I had not been to a Wiernerschnitzel in years but today was the day. We have a brand new location in Elk Grove and I decided to go not for the hot dogs, folks, but for the Tastee Freeze concoctions. They have sundaes and shakes and a Blizzard like candy-infused swirl. My husband and I opted for the swirl in the Oreo cookie flavor. They also had an M&Ms and a Reese's swirl. Though small in size, they really are just the perfect serving. The chunks of Oreos are generously found through each swirl and this was one tastee treat I will definitely return for along with a side of jalapeño poppers! My first visit was a trip through the drive thru that took almost 30 minutes on a Sunday afternoon, and ended up costing over $50 for my wife, myself, and 2 young kids. It felt ripped off, but whatever. I decided to try again this Friday night, and order some Tasty Freeze. We arrived 12 minutes before they closed(kinda of dick move, I know) and we're 2nd in line. As I waited for over 10 minutes for the line to move, 3 other cars lined up behind me. When the line FINALLY moved, the car in front of me ordered, I pulled up to order, then, boom, they turn the lights off. Needless to say, I was disappointed.
