Beach Hut Deli is by my house and on the way home from work. When I am in a hurry and need a quick meal, I'll pop in and grab a quick meal. I have never sat down and eaten here. I've always made a to go order. I have enjoyed the Chef Salad, the Cabo, and BBQ Chicken Salad. It was a delicious treat during the hot summer months. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. It's a warm day and i purchased their Malibu sandwich. They make it as a HOT sandwich. Don't get me wrong, this sandwich was pretty good. But now I wish I gotten a cold sandwich instead. It would've cooled me down. The workers were friendly and they made it within 7 mins. The restaurant inside was clean. It's like a sports bar. You got big screen TVs and they serve beer. So this is a place you can watch your games. Next time I'll return and this time I would consider the weather when I order a sandwich. Very disappointed in this place today. Ordered online at 1:10 and was told order would be ready at 1:30. When I arrived the staff were in the back laughing and having a very good time. However there were no sandwiches being made. I observed staff touching their hair and clothes while making sandwiches. GROSS! I was told my sandwiches weren't quite ready. They said they would bring them out. I waited until 1:50 at which time I went up to ask about much longer it would take. I was told, "oh here they are." When I told them I had been sitting there waiting they said "oh no one told us" At this point someone who seemed to be an owner brought a visitor in to see the workers. I doubt anyone who ordered after me got to eat! It will be awhile before I visit this pace again! People need to own and take responsibility for their mistakes! I didn't order any this time around as it was 4PM and I'm here with my kids. No one at the front. However, if you stand there long enough, someone will come forward to take your order. I was hesitant on ordering here and started to look up other sandwich places nearby based on the lack of instant interaction and menu. Nothing on the menu seemed to stand out. I have been a regular here for nearly 10 years. The food is good, and they always have a great selection of beers on tap, although my favorite is the cider. However, the outstanding service from the staff here is their best feature. Everyone is always friendly and fun. It's a great crew. They have an app which I ordered from, and I was a little overwhelmed with all the choices and even adjustments that could be made. All the choices and options are good for people that are picky. As soon as I put in my order, I saw that the wait time was really long. I got there to pick up my order a tad early. But they were definitely behind, even though the restaurant itself wasn't busy. I think they were short handed for a bit too, until another worker walked in with mayonnaise. My thinking is they must have run out so he had to get some. I would say the sandwich was really good. Definitely will come back, the tall, dark man who was the front desk cash register was super nice and helpful for my first experience! Even when he was off his shift, he offered to take my plate for me to put it away. But I kindly declined and so he can enjoy his shift off. I LOVED my hot melted Malibu sandwhich got me meltinggg and can't wait to try more! We truly like going to our local Beach Hut Deli though it is hit or miss with getting our order correct. We enjoy the fresh crisp cold produce used and the mountains of meat when we get what we order. Our order is not complicated ... its no mayo, no onion and extra peppercinis ... most they leave the onion on though the last time it was extra mayo ... so much so we couldn't eat the sandwich - to each their own. I have been coming to the Elk Grove location of 5 or 6 years and it is the best. The employees are very nice, and the sandwiches are always delicious! They are the best of the best sandwiches by far! The Northshore is my favorite. The sandwiches are very fresh, have a lot of meat and produce and are well presented open face (see photo). Look at how much meat and produce there is compared to the amount of bread. The owner (I think her name is Lea) is very nice, very welcoming, and provides excellent customer service.
