As for the chiropractors, I've worked with Dr. Burick off and on for the past three years and truly don't know where to begin - I've had low back pain for over 15 years and rather than the recommended surgeries (at 20yrs of age) I opted for a consistent regiment of yoga and pilates. After a car accident 3 years ago, I was referred to Dr. Burick to alleviate my pain in L4/L5/S1. From the very get-go, Dr. Burick took immense care in not only alleviating my pain but treating and understanding me as a person. He went to great depths to understand my history, my path to recovery (what worked/didn't), and came up with a customized plan to reduce my pain and restore my body to a lean, healthy, and mobile state. I was originally seeing him 3x a week but he was able to quickly reduce that to 1xevery 2 weeks. From there, I was able to stay in that healthy state for almost 1.5 years before I was in another brutal car accident/hit and run. Again, Dr. Burick spent the time to truly understand my issues and over the course of a few months, I was right back to where I was before the accident (I was pushed into a barrier at 60mph into a barrier...so this says A LOT). Aside from kicking ass in basically every category I care about in a practitioner, the people here are just flat out cool. I look forward to every visit and appreciate how they aren't trying to load me up with as many visits as possible - you can tell they genuinely want to get you back on your feet with as little or no chiropractic help as possible, as soon as they can.

I have been to chiropractors in the past, and I know some are just moneymaking operations, but this was really extreme. Dr. Larry spent the first appointment taking a ridiculous number of x-rays. He said he usually doesn't do adjustments during the first appointment, but I was in pain, so he agreed. The adjustments were ok, maybe a 5/10 as far as chiropractors I've visited before. He scheduled my follow-up appointment immediately and said I could pay at the next appointment. I assumed they would charge me my $50 copay, but I'm not confident based on more recent reviews. On my second appointment, we went over the x-rays, and Dr. Larry presented me with a "treatment plan". He said I'd need to go to him three times a week for at least three months, and then "we'll see" if we could reduce the frequency. He tried to insist I pre-pay THOUSANDS of dollars for 24 appointments (I think he called it the "Silver Plan", but I resisted on that. As I went to the front desk to pay, he told me he was training the new front desk person, and that it would be easier for me to pay at the next appointment. I decided not to return, but it's a month later, and I still don't have details on how much I'm being charged. Beware of this place. Note that all the 5-star reviews are several years old. I will update if there are any surprise charges.

Extreme sciatica and stiffness all through my back, neck and shoulders. Walking regularly, going to work and my complete daily routine wasn't comfortable in any way. I was taking mass amounts of ibuprofen daily just to get by. Flexeril prescribed by my Dr. also to relax the overall tenseness. I was not functionable in any way to complete regular activity. So frustrating. Really wearing me down. Body, mind and soul... Tired. No energy .. pain was eating me alive. I went in to Seattle total health. I was so grateful I was not rushed. Given a good 15 minute to relax on a rolling machine just to ease up the body previous to adjustment. Dr. Alex was gentle and never pushed a limit I was uncomfortable with. Like when a chiropractor focuses more on selling you a package of visits than actually treating your ailments. Often times I felt like cattle when I saw previous chiropractors. I would get an exaggerated diagnosis of my physical condition, then was told I need to buy 36 visits to make ensure I got better--because somehow they knew exactly how many visits it would take me to fix my issues. Then I'd go to my appointments and get the three common adjustments and be sent on my way after two or three minutes. Neck adjustment, hip adjustment, back adjustment--visit over. Dr. Asaturov is everything I was looking for in a chiropractor. His adjustments are the best I've ever had. All because he actually pays attention to my body, instead of just going through the motions. Every time I get an adjustment I get up off the table and can stand up straighter, and walk with less pain. The tension in my upper back gets an immediate release. If I have a migraine and get an adjustment, its severity will be cut in half. It's amazing. Amazing. I trust Dr. Asaturov with my body, he's the only chiropractor that's improved my mobility and pain-- and the only on that actually cared about my progress. The Dr. was then really pushing me to sign up for a program that would require me to come in more than I'd like to do exercises that I wasn't interested in. I finally had to stop "the pitch" and had to ask if I was even going to get adjusted. He said yes and did so but then followed me to the front desk to try and get me scheduled for the sessions he was pushing me on. I opted out and won't ever be back. What was once an amazing, family owned practice is now totally corporate. They even all wear the same matching polos. Dr. Devine was so good that I drove from Edmonds to downtown just to see him. After moving, I was in need of a DC close to my new home and unfortunately I found this place. Had my initial evaluation yesterday and the amount of paperwork was insane, like 3x more than what I'd fill out just to see a new PCP. That's fine, I can respect wanting a thorough med hx so I filled it out. While I was doing that, three people (not sure if they were a mix of employees and patients? started dancing around in the open "clinic/exercise" space. So unprofessional. I was then brought into the exam room where a non clinician conducted most of my "exam." Literally, I think he was the medical receptionist, who was nice, but it was just a bit odd. I knew they didn't adjust on the first visit, so I asked to be scheduled to the next morning. The "dr" said "our billing office likes us to give them 24 hours notice." Fine....even though I knew I only had a $15 copay. So I arrive at my scheduled appointment time today and waited 30 minutes past my appointment time for the "dr" to go over some nonsense cookie cutter crap about how she is recommending a program with 36 visits, one hour boot camp exercises, more xrays and evaluations every 9-10 visits. I told her that I was really just interested in a few at home exercises and an adjustment today and she said, "that's really not our corporate policy." So basically, as a patient, you have NO SAY in your care; you have to commit to their "program" or you don't get anything. She wasn't even going to think about adjusting me until I told her how I was going to make a payment for the $2500 package... REDICULOUS. Even if I wanted to do the program, three 60 minute visits a week would be extremely difficult for me in terms of time. I work in the medical field and nurses and physicians are always trained to treat the patient and not the disease. Can you imagine if every provider's care policy was "my way or the highway?"
