They turned me away because they said I could have covid or the flu and they don't want me to infect the staff and other patients. Although my records show that I have severe allergies they wouldn't let me come in. Because of this and the fact that the nurse assistant who made me feel uncomfortable during visits I decided it would be best to find another clinic. Although I requested my medical records through a new clinic, my records were not sent in a timely manner which made me miss my new Doctor's appointment. He said that Dr. Sledge's patients consistently do very well! I can't say enough great things about Dr. Sledge, his PA, Ms Book, and his staff. They are kind, "people persons", fun, patient, and helpful. At first, I called a few times to ask questions about meds, icing, etc., and Ms. Books returned my calls quickly. Dr. Sledge has such a warm, kind personality, too. He spends a great deal of time getting to know you. The day of my surgery, I was a little nervous because my husband could not be there, due to Co-Vid. But, Dr. Sledge and Ms. Book made me feel relaxed! He was extremely friendly and met with me a few times before the procedure and met with me afterwards for follow-up visits. He had excellent bedside manner and made me feel extremely important as his patient. He didn't check my teeth and then leave, he would ask me how I felt and listened to what I would say and spent time with me without rushing. I also had a follow-up visit with him and went a few hours beforehand to see if he could see me earlier and he squeezed me in! I was really happy. Great surgeon--shady business practices…read more I used this office because the surgeon is a preferred provider with my insurance. Imagine my surprise when the office charged me upfront for the surgery--I've never had a preferred provider charge me anything but a copay until the bill is settled. But that's not all. They charge *twice* for each implant--two different charges--even though my insurance company states that they allow only one charge and will disallow any "broken out" fees. And they also--in my case, at least--refused to calculate my bill using the PDP schedule (the Preferred Provider maximum charges). (They claimed they "didn't have to.") This meant that they overcharged me by thousands of dollars! Now the insurance company has settled the claim and says I owe only half what this office charged me. But the office refuses to pay up. They claim it's "your policy, not ours," so it's my problem that the insurance company doesn't support their shady practices--even though they signed a contract with my insurance company. They claim they'll pay me my money only when the insurance company "corrects" the claim. The insurance company says it's correct already.
