They have consistently provided superb service and follow-through, so I recommend this location to anyone who is looking for a PCP. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I missed an appointment due to an emergency, called them beforehand to let them know, and they said it would be enough since it was an emergency. Called to reschedule, they said I never called so I'd have to pay. Asked them to check their system, they didn't find evidence of my call. I called back to reschedule again, the said they found the notes in their system, but I'd have to appeal formally. I asked them what proof was needed, and they said I'd just have to make the claim that I had emergency surgery. So I asked what's the difference between now and then, since I had already done that and what would constitute as proof to waive the fee. They couldn't really answer, transferred me to billing and billing said they couldn't do anything, I'd have to talk to the practice. I asked billing to get on the call with me and the practice, and they said they would, but they did a simple transfer instead. When I finally agreed to pay and appeal later, they didn't have the appointment I needed. One big circus, wasting everyone's time, over 25 dollars.

Beware if you are looking for a traditional family practice doctor that believes in modern medicine like vaccines and surgical procedures, this is the wrong guy. My impression was if you are not ready to embrace his version of holistic healing, mainly Keto diet and IV treatments you are out. He told me he has cured stage 4 cancer with diet and did not believe in Covid vaccine. Of course this is an oversimplification of the conversation. I love the Mary Beth Harr MD PA Physicians Office! The funny thing is that I have never seen Dr…read more Harr! When I moved to the San Antonio Metro Area, I was so scared to look for a new PCP. If you're reading this, then you know EXACTLY how I feel. It is so hard to find a Dr. that I feel I can relate to, a Dr. that listens, understands, asks probing questions & actually reads my chart before coming into the examining room (Don't you hate it when a Dr. walks in & says "So why are you here today?" uh duh! Can you read your nurses handwriting? I just answered a hundred questions & you're gonna ask the same one's? ugh)) Most Dr.'s I have seen are in & out in less than 15 minutes on the initial appointment, let alone on regular wellness or illness checks! Not in this office! To find a Dr. I went online to the Converse and The Surrounding Community Facebook page & asked for recommendations. The response that stood out was about Dr. Harr's Office. After that response post, I received several more reiterating how good her practice is, & since no other Dr. had more than 3 responses on my post, I decided to call for an appointment, I have not been disappointed! Unfortunately, I have never seen Dr. Harr. Instead, I have seen Devon Durrand, PA from the very first appointment. She is humble, sensitive, caring, interested and genuine! Who can beat that combination? I have also seen Jennifer Zavala, PA on occasion when Devon is booked. Jennifer is humble, genuine and equally as open as Devon. How Dr. Harr found these wonderful Physician's Assistants I will never know! BUT, I know this, if these PA's work with Dr. Harr, then she must be as equally wonderful as her staff. The office staff is great. They are as accommodating as they can be when it comes to scheduling and seeing who I want to see. They have helped me when I had insurance changes, work forms completed and just to give a friendly hand & smile when I feel like crap. "Doc-in-the-box" feel is definitely not an accurate description of the office I went to. Ok, so the waiting area is dated, the business workstation is right outside the exam rooms & sometimes there's a wait or maybe horror upon horror, they missed seeing you (I tell you I would NOT have waited that long & I would have been more proactive if I were sitting in the exam room & I GUARANTEE I would have been seen! LOL). I'm sorry that some people had poor experiences. All I know is I am grateful to have found this practice, these Doctor's and the EXCEPTIONAL service I receive!
