She was immediately taken back for a CT scan and was provided zofran for her nausea. The provider spent a great amount of time discussing symptoms and plan of care with me. A skull fracture couldn't be ruled out, but a follow up x-ray once we got home did indeed confirm a skull fracture. I'm so thankful for the nurses and doctor who were working this day and took great care of my girl! Her situation could've been so much worse, but with the quick thinking of the professionals on site, she was ready to go home a few hours later. I would also like to add that the facility was very clean. If you are there awhile, they also have an area to grab a small snack for you or your loved one.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I missed an appointment due to an emergency, called them beforehand to let them know, and they said it would be enough since it was an emergency. Called to reschedule, they said I never called so I'd have to pay. Asked them to check their system, they didn't find evidence of my call. I called back to reschedule again, the said they found the notes in their system, but I'd have to appeal formally. I asked them what proof was needed, and they said I'd just have to make the claim that I had emergency surgery. So I asked what's the difference between now and then, since I had already done that and what would constitute as proof to waive the fee. They couldn't really answer, transferred me to billing and billing said they couldn't do anything, I'd have to talk to the practice. I asked billing to get on the call with me and the practice, and they said they would, but they did a simple transfer instead. When I finally agreed to pay and appeal later, they didn't have the appointment I needed. One big circus, wasting everyone's time, over 25 dollars.

I tried Chiropractic, steroid shots, Arosti. Nothing worked. I actually went to an alternative pain clinic several times. One morning after the session I could not get off the table. They had to help me sit on a couch. Some mornings, I could not walk at all. My wife would have to give me pain killers, gabapentin and muscle relaxers before I could move again. I had to stop working August 2025 because I had to drive to work across town and sit at a desk all day. I could not drive if I took the meds and the owner would not let me work from home. I finally sought medical help. I had CT scans, x-rays and MRIs. After a VA Dr. diagnosed me, I was able to choose the Dr. of my choice for the treatment. I found Dr. Monsivais at the recommendation of a friend that works for neurosurgeons in the operating room. She told me that he was very well respected and had a great reputation. It has been 3 months since my operation. I feel like a new person. I do not have any pain, I walk upright and I go to the gym 4-5 times a week. Dr. Monsivais changed my life. He explained what needed to be done and took very good care of me. My spine was pretty much squeezing my nerves shut not allowing me to walk. Again, I feel great now.

Prior to meeting Dr. Kohatsu, Ms. Matilda spoke highly of him and assured me that he's a great doctor, and she told no lies. On this particular day, a student, Rayshon (name is probably spelled incorrectly) was present. I have no doubt that this young man will be great doctor soon. I definitely hopes he finishes strong. I had changed to UT Health since my…read moreprevious PCP at Baptist would not listen to the medical issues I was having that needed treatment. I've been with my current PCP for over 2 years. On my first visit, he was overwhelmed with all of my issues (I will admit by this time, I cried every time I talked about all my health issues since I had no idea at that time what was wrong with me). My new PCP asked me which of my long list of issues I wanted to start with). Since that day I have been through 4 bone fractures, carpal tunnel in both hands, eye lid surgery, complete mouth dental implants, 2 double mastectomy surgeries, 2 hernia surgeries, and had my gallbladder removed and so many tests that I have no idea how many tests have been done on me My real irritation was that my doctor had made the assumption that I had been drunk when I displayed my shoulder. As I sat there, I realized that I was dismissed and my doctor was only talking to my husband. I really felt that I was being treated as insignificant and a drunk. I'm not a drunk and an extremely exhausted by the way I have been treated by doctors. I have had to fight for my health care and done almost all of the research on what is wrong with me. Even with finding out that I have Cushings, I can't get hardly any support from my provider. I understand that I am a complex case with my medical issues, but I do expect respect.
