Immediately started looking for 2nd opinions and multiple spine surgeon, different offices, said he didn't need a fusion and admonished doctors that do this.

We've been going to this office for follow-ups and physical therapy for nine months. Every time we see Frances, she has a disgusted look on her face and is incredibly rude. She actually tossed an envelope containing imaging at my daughter upon arrival. She is curt and her tone is angry if she speaks at all. There is no politeness from this woman. I'm currently looking for another surgical facility because I'm tired of paying thousands for us to be treated poorly. It's not conducive to the healing process.

And then I look at the front office and they're simply overwhelmed and I'm thinking underpaid as typical in these kinds of Industries and with that being said the the issue with the front office is you call and I always seem to speak to George and George is it seems to be a very nice gentleman but his job is to Simply transfer me to a voicemail for the nurses and the nurses advised that they will reach back out to you within 48 hours which is really impossible for them because they don't have the time to respond to voicemails because there's not enough of staff to address patience that need help. The level of care and my most humble opinion is moot. I was blessed to have the opportunity to to be in the presence of Dr Donald Atkins for maybe 10 minutes and post surgery didn't even see him and that in and of itself speaks volumes of his lack of bedside Manor. Our initial meeting with was going to be discussing the procedure although Limited in information I specifically requested not to be sent to the Methodist hospital for this procedure for very very personal reasons and that request was absolutely ignored I was told we could do the procedure within his facility and he even stated that but that didn't happen and because that didn't happen I was very upset that he or the office rather didn't tell me I was going to the Methodist hospital for this procedure until I was getting prepped for the surgery and he made the comment about me taking my anti-anxiety medication and I indicated that I had not and Dr Atkins indicated that his staff didn't feel comfortable was me at the time although I wasn't happy with being there I was certainly not disrespectful in any way with the staff I just wasn't there to make friends I'm there to get the procedure done and I didn't appreciate the fact that my request was not adhered to. And because of that Donald made it a comment with regards to an incident that happened at a Dallas facility with a veteran who had PTSD. Essentially he made the insinuation that I was one of those kinds of people with PTSD that would go off like that and which means he's labeling veterans with PTSD are all the same and would go off and do something stupid which is something I certainly took offense to and he has absolutely no idea of the different variations of PTSD I've never exhibited any kind of aggressiveness towards him or his staff. I found his comments to be egregious offensive and absolutely unprofessional so in short, I could never recommend Donald Atkins for any kind of surgery even if it was on a tick because he doesn't seem to care about the things that he says and the bedside manner is just not there. My only recommendation it would be that perhaps Dr Atkins should choose a different field of employment that doesn't involve human beings because he certainly didn't treat me as such.

He was not in any rush to do surgery, but instead, to try other options first. He has a good 'bedside' manner, gentle hands and seems to respond well to the information one gives prior to (by filling out the forms) and during the visit. The office is clean, and efficient. The staff are pleasant. I recommend.

On a Thursday evening, I made an appointment for Friday morning through their website. It was really pretty easy! However, I grew concerned I hadn't had any X-rays prior to making my appointment. In any case, I called, they said no problem! Be warned, a canceled appointment less than 24 hours in advance will cost you $75. The day of my appointment, I went in and was surprised to find how hard it was to find a place to park. The parking lot is huge. I went in probably two minutes late. The wait to be seen was about 30 minutes, possibly more. Then there was the wait in the room, not too horribly lengthy. I was shuffled off to x-rays, which was quick and efficient. I figured there would be a wait for the results. My doctor, Dr. Gates, came in and introduced himself, apologized about the wait, and tried to get to know me. He was very pleasant but spoke a little fast. I'm sure it was because he's probably done this a few times. I was given my options, decided on a game plan and was on my way. Overall, everyone was super nice. I will say if you're not familiar with orthopedic doctors, it's not one size fits all. Although I have other issues, I will have to see doctors that that specialize in other joints. I feel really good about this visit, I am looking forward to following the recommendations and getting better. Fingers crossed!

He showed my the x-rays, which show extensive damage. The surgery center and staff were great. I had no fears or concerns go into my first surgery or my second. They had my up and walking before I went home. Dr Kaiser's office staff was on the ball about getting me all the meds I needed before my surgery and after when I would run out. I meet with his PA-C Michael LeDoux after the surgery's and got the all clear. I am now 8 months out on my left knee and 3 months out on my right knee. I did PT for my left knee and I am doing PT for my right knee know, almost finished. I feel a 100% better then every. I have gotten my quality of life back. I am able to do more and more every day. I wouldn't change anything about my surgery or recovery. I just don't know why I waited so long!
