That's one more star than he deserves. After two botched surgeries, I'm worse than when I first went to him!

Nothing but positive things to say for Dr. Broome and his team at San Antonio Orthopaedic Specialists. I recently had knee surgery and I'm so glad I was referred to Dr. Broome. From the very beginning of setting up the appointment to after surgery and checking in, I am so impressed. At first glance, you can tell how beautiful their new space is and the care they took to make it welcoming. His staff is considerate of your time and took me back fairly quickly. I did not have to wait for more than 5-10 minutes after arriving each time. Dr. Broome takes his time on your first consultation to get to the root of what is bothering you, and why you are looking into having surgery. We discussed the different scenarios of what might happen, as we looked at each MRI image that was taken. His assistant will come in to discuss privately the payment options available, as well as who to call about insurance coverage. His staff also make sure everything is in order, even calling to remind you and go over the game plan the day before surgery. After surgery he made a curtesy call to make sure all was well, and to see if I had any questions or concerns. Overall, I am so impressed with the amount of communication and friendliness of this office. You can really tell Dr. Broome and his staff care about his patients and the overall well being of life after surgery. Not to mention, you can barely tell I had knee surgery, as the incisions healed beautifully!

No real discussion or interaction about the issue and any questions I had - which were many. I definitely felt like he just wanted me out as quickly as possible. The shot did nothing. I went to another Orthopedic Center had a much better experience. They explained the issue in detail, suggested several options and actually spent time with me. Cannot recommend Dr Couch based on this - maybe a different doctor there would be better.

I know people always talk about how their knee doctor is great. I've only had one knee replacement…read morebut I think my knee doctor is pretty special. First off, she does what is called a minimally invasive procedure which basically means she doesn't cut into any muscle. This means less pain and a much quicker recovery time. Amanda is really concerned about her patients; she gives out her personal number and tells you to call for any reason. She gets you set up on a text system that texts you exercises you can/should be doing and answers questions regarding issues such as swelling, ice, etc. I don't think you'll go wrong choosing Amanda. Lastly, which should of been first, she's a Christian. She prayed over me before surgery and it put me at ease.

In order to relive pain on that leg I had to keep it stretched out whenever I'd sit at a chair whether at home, the movies, on an airplane I always had to sit anywhere I could stretch out that leg . A friend recommended Amanda Marshall . So I went with my friend and I was asked to sit on top of the patient table and my friend sat on the chair . So Amanda Marshall walks in she doesn't greet me Amanda Marshall is directly in front of me not facing me but her side was facing me and she begins talking to the intake person while I'm sitting there with my leg stretched like I'd made a habit of for years to avoid the pain when Amanda Marshall suddenly speaks out in a rather frustrated way " will you put out your leg down " and she continued talking to the intake person . I was appalled ... I've never been treated so rudely by any doctor ever in my entire life . And I've battled cancer and have seen many doctors .I'm guessing I gave her the impression ( because I was sitting up so high on the examination table with my leg not completely straight out but not completely bent either just held out in order to avoid pain ) of a " young dramatic kid " wanting attention on her "OUCHI " As if I was trying to show her my leg is hurting . This woman ( I'm not even gonna call her a doctor because I've never met a more rude doctor in my life ... ASSUMING I was DOING THIS ON PURPOSE. Not knowing that this has been a literal position ( of my leg ) I'd had to adapt to throughout my life . The only thing I can say is she is an idiot ! I'm going to continue letting people know how badly she treated me ! I regret ever stepping into her office !

It had been like this for 3 weeks & anti-inflammatory meds & icing weren't helping. I arrived 20 minutes early and had pre-filled my Patient Forms online earlier. The MA, Amanda called me in about 10 minutes before my appt, took a Q&A of my symptoms & told me I'd get an Xray first; The Xray tech escorted me to the back & took some Xrays & I went back to the exam room. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Alexandra Matthews came in & recognized me as I saw her in 2018 for knee pain & treatment. I told her my symptoms & she checked my elbow & confirmed that I had "Tennis Elbow." She suggested a Steroid injection to give relief within 24-48 hours. While she was injecting me she was telling me to think about my upcoming vacation & what I was looking forward to so I wouldn't focus on the stinging feeling. She had given me injections on my knee before so I had an idea. Dr. Matthews was pleasant & had a nice demeanor as in 2018 so I was pleased with that. She even commented on how detailed my answers were on the Patient Forms & she was so happy for that! She wanted me to get PT & a followup appt so next up was Dr. Brandon, the PT. Brandon came in to talk to me about my issue, showed me on a Human Body Muscular diagram what area is affected, why & how they'll approach therapy & modalities. I asked him a few questions & he was very thorough & easy to understand. Afterwards, I set up my appointments on 2 parts of the checkout counter. One for the followup & the other with the PT scheduler. This place is a well-oiled machine & runs with efficiency & professionalism. We'll see how the PT visits pan out!

Getting to this location is easy, and it has a lot of parking in front. During the first several weeks we found parking to be an issue (more folks coming in than they have parking spots). A tip from one of the employees led us to parking in back of the business. After getting that tip, we never had a parking issue again. Upon entering the office the first time, we were immediately greeted by the folks at the front desk. Us being new, they helped us get all the paperwork completed and helped us get ready for PT. Then, very quickly. one of the PT's came out to get my wife and take her back. Although signage indicates that no one except the patient is allowed in back, they invited me back with her. My wife met all the guys who would be working on her (about 5 different PT's worked on her). This was a different experience than I have had at other places (1 PT did all the treatments). She liked all of them (maybe because they were all young and buff), and they all took great care of her. She has not finished her treatments yet, but she is already much better. Will I return? Definitely if/when I need that type of service.
